A naked man is lying dead in the middle of the desert. He has half a match in his hand. What happened?
Edit: Just in case anyone has missed the previous puzzles: you can ask me any questions to help you solve this puzzle, but I can only answer your questions with "yes", "no", or "irrelevant".
2-nd Edit: added an important detail that I forgot at first (half a match).

Are there footprints in the sand? (I assume it's sand)
Is there any sign of a struggle?
Are his clothes nearby?

2. Is it night? Irrelevant. He's dead in the middle of the desert, chances are he stayed that way until at least one day changed to night or the opposite
3. Is there another object near the victim? Other than half a match - No.
Are there footprints in the sand? No.
Is there any sign of a struggle? No.
Are his clothes nearby? Hmm... define nearby.

did the man draw straws and he got the short straw (the half match?)
were they in a balloon and they were sinking and they first tossed all the clothes overboard and then they drew straws for one of them to jump out so the rest could be saved?

I've never heard that one before, really. That was my guess.
I thought it was a burnt match until Geny's post, then I realized it was drawing straws.
Since there weren't any footprints nearby I assumed he flew there. Drawing straws and getting tossed out was a logical deduction.

I'm new to this community but I really reaaally loove this thread... Read all 27 pages, was gonna participate in this new one asking if the match's been lit, but before I had the chance asking..... 
Maybe we need a new one, genuinely made up, never been asked or written somewhere before so nobody else but the maker know the answer. Just a wish.

I'll see if I can find one...
hmmm I can only really find fairly simple ones {lots though}, so if you figure it out just say so please, and I'll post another or someone can post something else 'course.
So here's two:
1. Lady G was lying dead on a bed, and on the floor beside it were a pair of scissors. The scissors were the instrument of her death, yet there is no trace of blood. Her body reveals no signs of any cuts or bruises, How was she murdered with the pair of scissors?
2. Mighty Mage stared through the dirty soot-smeared window on the 26th floor of the office tower. Overcome with depression, he slid the window open and jumped through it. It was a sheer drop outside the building to the ground. Miraculously after he landed he was completely unhurt. Since there was nothing to cushion his fall or slow his descent, how did he survive?
