Hardly ... Next expansion will most probably contain no more than one faction - whether it be an Orc faction, a Naga faction or something else, only Nival knows ...

The Settlement msut be in! But if the Homm CS will in, I can do the Settlement myself. And do not lose faith, there will be more factions, at least 4.

I don't really understand what you mean with this, is this negative about my post?
What's wrong with a town that doesn't contain like 5 of the same type units?
I dislike those ideas with 6 orcish units in one town with only 1 beast unit in it (and even on its back is ANOTHER orc..)
I also dislike the dwarf-expansion, most horrible town of all!
Do you mean my Settlement? And the Giant is not an orc. He is an ogre-like greenskin giant. And the dwarf-expansion is cool. Bixie's stronghold contains many orcs, Ted's hobbiton cantains almost only halflings at all. Sorry, but in my option some races need their own faction (for example: Humans, Nagas, Orcs, Ogres, etc.) AND (if I saying false please indruct me) I think there is no "dislike" named word, I know "dislike" as "don't like" or "do not like".

When in Rome, do as the Romans ...
Nival chose this approach for the game, and personally I agree whole-heartedly with it, because it actually gives a realistic picture of what these different nations might look like army-wise. Therefore, when they have actually made the game as strict to this idea as they have - like it or not - I find it highly unlikely that they will suddenly deviate from it.

well yes and no
H3 was nice, (thinks of Rampart) with their Pegasus's (ok theu didnt really go) Elves and Dwarfs (elves lived in trees, but the dwarves get a house) treants (looked great i thought) a nice peaceful race
H5 is good, because it really taked one race, and says, "if it lived here, who would they meet?"
both work alright

Same here. I think the dwarves are the best designed race from this aspect. They have only one non-dwarf unit (that dragon).
So what if two races are allied? Allied does not mean they share the SAME town. No way dwarves and elves and other things in the SAME town. I wouldn't mind if ALL the dungeon creatures were dark elves, ALL the sylvan units elves, etc...

Do you see we humans live with aliens? To make a faction with different monsters with no background (e.g. they fight together just because they are designed like that? or they should have a connection (slaves or simply they are NOT in the same town!)) is too childish. Why not make a faction with 'spooky' monsters (a spider, a crocodile, just some monsters that are not connected in any way)? Because it is too childish.

I'm actually not sure the Thane is a Dwarf!? I get the impression that a Thane is actually a separate type of creature - it stands taller than a human, it teleports, and it makes storm strike. Not exactly your typical Dwarf.

no, no, no. you miss understand me. when it comes to expansions, you've hit the nail on the head when it comes to guessing what Ubi and nival will do. i'm not being negative about it, i'm just saying that it was predicable that nival and Ubi would do something like this ie resurrect an old town and bring some new units into the new one. nothing bad, just a bit guessable, thats all!

Like I said, I actually think the Thanes are not Dwarves, which makes the Fortress a collection of Dwarves + Thanes + Bears + Magma Dragon. So ...
Anyway - I think one should also consider the fact that the game has to evolve when they make a new version. Sure, they could have made a new version of Heroes 3, exactly duplicating the towns - but that would have been doing a bad job in reviving the game imo. They have already leaned heavily on Heroes 3, so I think it's perfectly fine they add some features to give the game its own charactor.
