This question may be out of left-field, but is there any way to modify the default save directory used by Tribes of the East? I want the game to search a custom directory when loading.

Let's see if the wiki and this thread are in fact still connected.
Am I blind and missing the register screen? How does a new person contribute to this project? Or has it finally died?

Register.
Since the page can't actually be accessed through a link, I wonder whether we are not supposed to be editing it anymore...

Maybe they hid it so they didn't have to maintain the wiki anymore. I guess we'll see if somebody posts here about it.

Hi, I have admin rights, but for some reason the Wiki is all blocked for me, I can't make any changes... I can't even crate you an account... If you want to post something there, maybe it's better to post it separate thread in this forum...

It won't let me register either. Oh well. I just wanted to add some simple map making tutorials to help those wanting to learn how to make maps, so everything is in one place. There were some other changes I wanted to make too but can't remember what they were.
EDIT: What if the wiki was transferred to something free like Wikia? I'd love to have a wiki where everything can be put in one place so people don't have to keep re-asking simple questions on the forum here.

I think this is an excellent idea.
I saw the same thing with very 'basic' questions popping in some very long threads,. That 's why I did "Map-making Tips, my guide for 'beginners' (trying to get everything on the first page) and now I am trying to add links to all of the advanced stuff. I may be finished, regarding my initial purpose.
This idea is even better. Wish you'd thought about before I went to all the trouble
@VokialBG
Recently, I thought I saw a statement that you were working on this some time ago? Was it for beginning-mappers in H5? I hope I did not miss it. Very sorry if I did, I need its location. I want all efforts linked on my first page.
thanks

There is an existing Heroes 5 wiki, but mostly about how to play the game.
So should we start a new wiki for Heroes 5 modding or just figure out how to put it in the Heroes 5 wiki?
Heres the existing Heroes 5 wiki on Wikia: (I don't remember how to do hyperlinks in this forum)

I'm not a modder but I thought there is already a good start on this? No?

I pick the hyperlink-icon from the gray box, delete the "Nulls" and paste between the [url]s.

Alright, I started messing around with the Heroes 5 Wiki on Wikia. It really didn't have much in it to start with, I mostly tried to clean up the main page so you can get to what has been done by other people.
As I get time I'm going to start moving tutorials from the Modder's Workshop Wiki over there. If you know of other great tutorials feel free to place them over there so we can try to get things in one place! I get very tired of trying to search through these forums to find posts that answer my questions.

Looks good. <IMO> I think it would be better just having you ram-rod your vision...so to speak. The "too-many-irons thing". I have 'some' links on my thread on H5 map-making and you can see if they are some of what you would want.

Quote: Interesting, I went there a few days ago and it worked, but the new page doesn't work for me either.
It worked when I copied the link, here's where the new one is:

Thanks fulano. I'll go take a look now. Why is there 2 in the first place? Is it because someone at both sites had the same idea?
Anyway, I was getting ready to IM you. If I'm going to assist you I guess we need to discuss your plans somehow, so I have some idea how I can help out. If e-mails are a no-no for you then I guess we can use the IM. What do you think?

On the link to the wikia page it says they didn't like wikia's visual themes so they moved the website to a new place.
I personally don't like the theme at the Heroes 5 wikia either but I haven't figured out how to edit it. I've just been moving content over bit by bit.
And the IM messages work fine. I can let you know what I've copied and some differences between this wiki code and wikia's code that makes copying the tutorials tricky.
Or if you want I think it would be awesome if somebody formatted the pages better.
Some feedback would be awesome too. I tried to organize things better than they were in the HC wiki but I'm not sure if it makes sense to other people or not.
EDIT: Or the coordination could always be done on a new thread so others can get involved as well.
EDIT 2: I decided to go with the new thread option here:

I went to the new one you posted. Why did you not choose to do the work there, since you don't like the look of the other one?
4Fun Check out this map if you've not seen it; http://wiki.celestialheavens.com/w/index.php?title=File:BetaAshan.jpg

That I've ran into that before in other ways and lost a lot of work. You just scared me. <grimmace>

I doubt I could help with that.

Concerning both of these comments; I was thinking earlier maybe you should make a new thread for your project here, since it is adding alot to the existing HC Wiki thread? But I don't know, seems like it's been a long time since it was updated, so maybe it doesn't matter? Maybe you should ask a Mod. for their thoughts too?

It would be good to know what a Moderator would think about it. I tend to just do whatever around here but I think I've gotten some frowns for that before.
