Does diplomacy rule?

Diplomacy is known as most useful thing in the game for it allows you to recruit troops withous building their houses,
and sometime one can have troops for free. In actually one can select a particular monster from the very beginning and try to get an expert visions to check if it's desiring to join or not. One also can use thieves to check it. Usually any group joins if you have enaugh money and some troops in your army is similar to the creatures. It gives you the possibility to strenghten your original troops and sometime properly used money allow you to join extremely useful troops and acheive victory. One who builds his strategy based on diplomacy then he has good chances to win the game.
Needless to say that useing diplomacy costs MUCH money and therefore cannot be dishonorable or "unfair". At the same time one can surrender his troops for a lover forfeit. On some maps one even has 100% chance to win the scenario using diplomacy skill. There are three Heroes who have diplomacy skill at startup: Ryland, Cyra and Adela. Sometime I prefer Cyra because of her extremely valuable ability to cast haste (gremlins, for example, can have their speed boosted to 11 when Cyra is on level 1). At the same time Ryland has leadership that allows him to join together up to 5 different town creatures with no morale forfeit and even undead (with 3 other town types). So it's not so easy to join them together, not having received thus a bad  morale. And again, it's not so easy to invest one's money properly.

ah... Ryland...

...one of the best choices in the game.... (I'm sure Preserver will agree with me) ...diplomacy, leadership and a bonus for Dendroids!!! ...I always choose Ryland when playing Preserve ...oops!!! I mean Rampart... last night, on day three, about 100 Grand Elves joined my army... needless to say, I won the game...

...Diplomacy is always a choice WHEN -okay Shae?- I get the offer (for other heroes)... it helps alot, especially in the dawn of the game... ofcourse that is only HoMM3... I haven't any clues about Diplomacy in HoMM4... don't even know if it is in there...

EDIT: ...man, I hate sleeping.. I don't know what I'm writting about...

HOMM4 and diplomacy?

Dear Lith-Maethor!

I mentioned Ryland as a good example of diplomatic war strategy. Of course, any Hero can obtain such a skill as diplomacy but I doubt that 100 grand elves can join on day 3... one must have over 5 dragons to force them.
Anyway the subject is Heroes 4 and diplomacy. I guess such a useful skill will be present there, if not, then the game will lose much. To make a friend from your enemy means to use your political tongue and be more smarter than he.
Diplomacy will always be present even in our real life, needless to say about game.

...about HoMM4, Diplomacy may be in HoMM4 only in the form of charm and summon... and not as a secondary skill for everyone...

Diplomacy is in HMM4

In fact from what I have read, If you enemy troops are without a hero in the group, there is a chance that even they can join you.

Diplomacy in our life.

Thank you Zud!

You're undoubtedly the greatest player and I always wanted to offer my obeisances to you. As I used to say, diplomacy is a living thing, and in Heroes 4 we'll see that from an ordinary skill it shall undoubtedly grow into a powerful set of spells and abilities.

Ryland... who?

...oh, the ranger of course. Yeah, he's one of the best heroes (heroes = rangers, druids)... ...if only he had elves as speciality too ... But yes, the choise falls on Ryland very often. It's perfect when the wandering creatures are of the woodland kind. But luck is one of the Rampart specials right? ...

PS: It was on time Ryland joined the community. We could always need a good diplomat here...

Melodia

Dear Preserver!

I know only one hero whose spetiality is fortune.
I even know one guy that uses Melodia constantly. But there is some ways to prevent her from casting (Orb of inhibition and fighting on cursed grounds). So I prefer not to rely upon her thin shoulders. But if unresisted, she can double every damage in combat! Therefore If there is some way to obtain diplomacy I prefer to retire Ryland because of his old ages. And as diplomacy hero I always prefer Cyra because of her ability mentioned above.

about the luck...

I wasn't talking specific heroes. I meant the Rampart alignment/theme is building on luck. The heroes easily learns luck, the druid Melodia has the fortune speciality, the fountain of fortune gives +2 luck to siege defenders, the spirit guardian increases the luck by all allied heroes, the pre-Rampart from H2; Sorceress Castle also had the rainbow structure, I mean even the gold dragons look like chinese luck dragons... Okay that's all... No, the Rampart-like adventure objects are also luck boosters. The Faerie Ring gives +1 luck until next battle and the Swan Pond gives +2 luck...

You must be playing Heroes alot. Had you ever seen a misfortune upon your troops? Still I know that after visiting an empty pyramide you get misfortune.
I think that luck can be stopped at once by the Hourglass of Evil hour. Swan pond also requires all movement points and though I agreed with you, my respectable Preserver, still I think about diplomacy more than about luck. Luck is a cheap thing and one can't get it more than maximum. And luck also means some percentage of it. Therefore I can't rely upon luck only.

Life and diplomacy

Changing of avatar is similar to changing one's diplomatic position. I guess that any good diplomat must know how to change his position if the circumstances require(demand) it.
