Can you get though this battle and

loose only dragons, half grim riders and one blood fury?

(took me eight attempts not counting initial positioning)

Anyway – as you see i just discovered HoF and new here.

Got hooked up. AI is appalling, but the game is still very challenging.

As there were no saves threads in this forum i would like to request some interesting battles with your best solution results.

warlock level 22 (your army) against knight level 13

both have plenty artifacts, knight has armor of hero

(high level death magic with 23 spell power and 70 mana)

I had better battles - did not bother to save them.

Only problem with castle sieges (defending) – game often crashes during your best move – replaying with worse move/position to avoid the bug is not an option, especially in 100+ turns battles.

Please post your saves.

I look at the picture, then at the Lose amount and I think. NOpe cant do it... I cannot see how you beat him, Else you need great Dark magic, Frenzy? Puppet master? ... Hmm else no..

The rocks and logs in the terrain block off a bunch of paths.  All it takes is manipulating of that and some dark magic.

I'll hit this with theory

Wait with Blood Furies, Single Blood Fury attacks or waits, doesn't matter as long as it doesn't move. Assassins Poison the Archangels. Grim Raiders wait. Succubus Mistresses shoot at Archangels. Archangels kill the single Fury. Matriarchs shoot the Archangels. Eruina casts Frenzy on Paladins. Bam, there goes a lot (all?) of those 84 unidedntified creatures behind Treants (Rune Patriarchs?). Dragons attack the Archangels, retaliation probably kills nearly all of the Dragons. Blood Furies attack the Archangels. Grim Raiders attack the Archangels without retaliation, (killing a LOT now, because they have no defense + attack of Warlock). Magmas move before Treants and block their path, so neither are gonna get near your troops soon. The Archangels are wasted and Paladins are still Frenzied...

Thing look pretty good for you, but all depends on what the Knight Hero has. A Teleport will be devastating, and will probably grant you a loss, so I doubt he had/used that. If he blesses his creatures the better for you, as they will do more damage against each other. Things get really tricky if he had Warmachines and First aid Tent or Cleansing as a spell...

Why not to try it – that is what savegames/these forums are for (i think).

Do you have problems with links? They work for me in the UK. I can upload files to other storage, but always been using mediafire – most reliable.

I do not want to give away much of the solution, but with only 79 mana – it is twice puppet, once fury and once blind (all @ full cost) + phantom forces/rest necessary spells to stop them reaching you (favourable terrain obviously). Archangels must be killed, sacrificing some of the dragons to take first (and last) retaliation. Knight uses cleansing, but otherwise not a threat.

Some more screens of another variant/solution (hard to remember when to use luck bonuses).

Sure I'd love to try it out, but i have no HoF so can't. I just theorized it in my mind therefore. You used Puppet Master, I should have known that with Warlocks spellpower it will perhaps be a better choice... Frenzy is still more safe because of initiative drop caused by Puppet, so Knight has no change to Cleanse. But I wouldn't know how the initiative bar goes exactly in this combat You had Dark Renewal I assume? A resisted spell would otherwise be disastroys in this fight, or?

with that much of hero advantage, it's not that much of a big deal. Besides, it's warlock. Warlocks totally own the lategame.

I defeated once (with Warlock level 20 vs Knight level 3, in a HAVEN CASLTE SIEGE) the AI:

900+ Marksmen
600+ Squires
150+ Imperial Griffins
100+ Inquisitors
80 Paladins
31 ArchAngels

with a MUCH LESSER army. (I had 11 Shadow Dragons if I remember correctly - and I placed them in week 4! - yes, it was Month 3 Week 1)

ah... my double growth AI again
(and yes it is with the OLD training, I don't have HoF)

Can you post saves pleeese.

Do not really like town building/hunter-gathering, but big fights – that is what i play this game for.

I am also not yet clued much on a hero development, but to have proper fights always giving AI few of the same towns (generally one-two more than have myself) and half of map’s resources. Starting big maps with all separate heroes/factions, and letting AI clean that for me (just ‘scaring enemies away’ until settled), making at least one enemy of level 20+ (with town portal) – than you cannot catch (playing one hero normally – not easy to reach level 20 without killing enemies much) unless he thinks he can win.

Did you use mistresses in melee instead of dragons?

Assassins shot Angels...

Then I used his Paladins (Puppet) to strike Angels and close a passage... Rune Patriarchs shot all furies later as a result...

...Don’t recall the rest. I actually made some mistakes during that battle...
