The perfect Game

Ok, this is sorta like the Game Ideas thread made by Trogdor, but this can be kinda different.

Each post you make, must contain an idea, for a possible game, or just for fun, but make it good.

Then at the end, all of the ideas can be combined into one, making the perfect game of your choice.

Sure, there can be debates about particular ideas, and some can be not put in or whatever, but this could be fun if we all work together.

Now to start, what kind of game should we make the ideas for?

RPG?

FPS?

RTS?

You decide, and when we have all come to a conclusion of what kind of game to do, then we can start compiling ideas, and then when all ideas have been thought of properly, then I will edit this post, giving credit to who made the ideas and all.

Try to keep this thread clean from spam, and let's have fun, and let's make it reasonable and original, not using some or all ideas that have been used millions of times already, let's try and make this original, and let's make it good.

After we do the game type, then we gotta think of a name for the game (or that can be done last), and then a plot of it and everything.

This can be really fun if this works out correctly.

Let;s see how this goes.

The perfect game would have to be an RPG, that's a given.

Any other game style could never be the perfect game. I'm not even saying this because I'm a RPG fan, it just seems to be the only sensible choice for an ultimate game.

OK then, This game will be an RPG.

Now any ideas for a posibble plot that we could start off with?

Perhaps different people can come up with different ideas, and then we somehow combine it together, providing it all makes sense.

I would like to see some ideas for this, and then we can get some ideas for possible gameplay, graphics, music etc etc etc.

If it's gonna be old fashioned RPGame then it will need good story, strong charters and some humor. The simplest story works best for me. Add some sinister cold bad guy who plans to take over the world and dominate it whit his evil minions or yet better to destroy the whole world once and for all.

Main hero is young fellow whit sharp sword and short temper. Then adding  bunch of diffrent charters to team up whit the hero's cause. Every charter has their own reasons why they fight againts this "evil".

Well that is the basic concept in RPGs and that is the way to do it imo. I'm making my own RPG game whit RPG Maker XP right now and if i hear good ideas here i might use them in the future aswell

Good luck whit creating ideas for this game

I would go for a RPG/RTS (SRPG) or RTS/FPS (FPSS) based on how much I enjoy playing SpellForce and Savage respectively ...on the other hand, I am partial to TBS ...gah! overload...

i like spellforce and savage as well. but i also enjoy playing Black and white 2.

when it comes to RPG games, i feel that if you have one or a few guys who is, ultimately, neutral and left completely on their own. then it is up to the player how they work it out. will he be good or evil, or a combination of the two?

those games are fun because they allow the player complete access to what ever they want. they could be good and help build cities, or they could be evil and kill thousands of innocent people, or they could be good and kill lawyers.

Well wht I have always wanted is a game similar to Fable, but you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, wel lactually that is kinda like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (the best Nintendo 64 game of all time, infact maybe the best game of all time).

You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, but ofcourse you have to do certain things, like quests or whatever, kinda like Fable, except you cannot really go wherever you want, I mean because you are mainly walking on paths or whatever, you are not really just walkign across fields, the desert anything like that, they are just 2 examples, but I hope you know what I mean.

Now Fable would have been the perfect game if you could play that online or split screen multiplayer, but I like it how it is now, but it is always better playing a game you like with a friend, so you can both enjoy the experience and have fun playign the game.

Now freedom, in a game, maybe this "perfect game", there would need to be alot of freedom in my opinion.

You are not restricted by paths which you cannot jump over, or any of that, or like invisible walls and when you try to walk, you just can't, none of that stuff.

You have the freedom to do whatever you like, whenever you like, and also while doing this you can do certain missions.

In a game like this, well in any game, I hate one thing, one thing which really annoys me, is certain missions which you have a time limit.

I always try and rush through them, and then I failk with like 5 seconds to go or whatever.

I really hate that, so in a game like this, I wouldn't want ANY time limit to be involved.

It is just annoying, frustrating, and it annoys me, and ofcourse would annoy many other people aswell.

Day/night transition, that would make the game more realistic.

Such games as Fable and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, did these transitions perfectly, they did it spot on.

I would like to see Day/Night transition in a game like this.

I have many more ideas, but I will give other's to say their opinion, before releasing any more of my ideas out, so we just get some better and more discussion happening in here

The Kingdom Hearts series was an interesting style for an RPG.  Instead of turn based battles you had like a Real Time kinda FPS mix thing and through that you still had party members, magic, weapons and armor upgrades, and you gained experience like any good RPG.  I think that mix (plus the cool story) is what made those games good.

a good man character for an RPG could be a mercenary!

to mercenaries, they try and aviod the world of good and evil. in the game, we could thrust this mercenary into a world of good and evil, forcing him to choose a side!

the sides could be fairly straight forward, something like:
knights kingdom
a fledgling empire
a ancient kingdom
mad nercomancers
a vendetta nation
a side of chaos
barbarian tribes
eco warriors
and maybe more.

as for the day and night thing, if we do it using mercenaries, we don't have to have a time limit. if certian missions need ones, then we have it on days, not minutes

i've played kingdom hearts and i agree its got a good way of fighting. its also in fable and many others. in the game, continuing with the mercenary theme, you could have a mercenary warband that hires new mercenaries with every new character that pops up.

The perfect game would definately be an RPG. It would have lots of freedom like World of Warcraft but at the same time, not be restricted to only running around doing quests. There would be a massive, deep storyline behind the game that would take many many hours, or even days or weeks to complete (as in hundreds or thousands of hours of playing through the storyline). The world of the game would be huge aswell. There would be so many places to go, it would be very hard to visit all of them.
One of my favorite RPG's if Tales of Symphonia. It has about 50 hours of gameplay. It has a main character with swords and a quick-to-temper attitude as mentioned above. An order of angels bent on making everyone the exact same lifeless beings. A group of renegades trying to stop them. And a "chosen" girl who holds the fate of the world in her hands. The characters are very customizable and learn a huge variety of abilities. The battle system isnt turn based, so you have free roam of the battle field and can link multiple attacks together for huge combos.
My perfect game would be something like this, but on a much larger scale and you have more freedom, so if you want to you can go save the world, or you could be a simple peasant, making a little gold every day.

i loved playing Tales of Symphonia, but i hated the story line because it didn't offer as wide a vareity of enemies as other games, and it didn't offer you a chance to be evil!

Then the general is backstabbed by his master and the really big bad guy becomes the dictator of the world

Oh yeah that too. You would also have the option of becoming evil if you wanted to.
And as for a time period, it would have to be a period with all of the swords and such, but there would still have to be magic, odd creatures and some out of the ordinary things. Renaissance could work. The simple black powder guns would be intersting and would add more to the game, but it would be limited to that only, because anything more would be too technologically advanced for a game like that.

I like the idea of mercenary as main hero. Also hero could choose path of good or bad side. The best thing for me is that bad guy is the key charter in this story. He makes some nasty things like murders innocent people and later he finds himself fighting againts the evil "the hand what feeds him". Story of man who does ruthless things over money saves the world at the end.

These are my opinion cool charters. Looks like killers, has interesting story, has good voice actors they have everything what good charters need. Guts from Berserk Anime, Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid and Auron from Final Fantasy X:

Imo main charters don't get any cooler than these. When we have main hero for this story we need add some comrads. Alltough these chartes above likes to work alone there has to be good bunch of supporting charters in RPGame just like in the movies.

Ideas for supporting charters, bad guys perhaps later

I think we already have the perfect game.

Its called LIFE

Amount of details and character development in it is huge. Non linear story helps it as well. And Graphics seem nice in most cases.

Now about video games:
Just make Fallout 3 and it will be perfect

Well IMO, I like the Fantasy RPG games, not so much with real life, but with stuff like Fable or any of those kinds of games.

I do not so much like the idea of a Merc being the main hero.

I think, at the start of the game you should be able to choose what you want to be.

Or, with a kind of Fable approach, but slightly altered, you start the game as a child, maybe about 13 years of age for example.

Then with a kinda increased timeframe within the game, you slowly watch him age and everything, his build and everything, height etc, will be determined by what he eats, how he trains etc etc.

This would kinda fit well into any sort of game, but with an RPG game, I think it would be aweomse.

He can lift large rocks to try and gain muscle and become stronger, thus swinging the sword with increased strength, or what he eats, can make him taller, or make him get a short, what I mean is that if your hero does not eat properly, like meat and all that, then he will not become tal, if he eats rarely, and only eats sort of junk food, then he wont become his full height or whatever.

Does that make sense?

And the idea of being able to be good and bad works well, it worked very well with Fable, ofcourse when you were bad you started growing horns from the head, a red shroud would surround you, flies would buzz around you, your eyes would glow red, and your skin would become kinda of dark and crackly and all that, and you lost some or most of the hair and it would also become darker.

When you were good you would have a halo on the top of your head, your skin would become lighter, your hair would also become lighter, you would get blue eyes (bright blue), butterflies would buzz around you, and you would kind of "shine".

Now with this game, perhaps you wouldn't need to have those things, but perhaps similar.

If you are bad, then you would be able to do certain types of bad missions, perhaps burning down villages, killing certain people, etc etc.

If you were good, then you might have other certain types of good missions, perhaps saving villages, and helping people not to get killed and all of that.

Sounds like you wanna make another Fable game William. The eating thing is okay i guess but if you really hafto eat once in a while it could get irritating. The system in GTA San Andreas was allright, you get fat if you eat mutch. You get thin by running and not eating and you get muscles in cym.

The charter develop system is also must. The merc thing was merely the quests that what the charter do for their living but classes and specials you can choose yourself. I personally like to make ultimate fighters that has extremely high strenght. Some games you can but skill bonuses where you want.

There should be mutch diffrent type of charter classes but just few starting choises like Fighter, Mage and Tief and that the basics and after that charters can develop in direction what they like.

D&D Charter classes are fine starting point: Assassin, Barbarian, Bards, Clerics, Druids, Fighters, Monks, Paladins, Rangers, Rogues, Sorcerers, Witches and Wizards.

FF X-2 had plenty of charter classes aswell: Fighter, Monk, Samurai, Dragoon, Ninja, Hunter, Black, Mage, White Mage, Summoner, Blue Mage, Time Mage, Geomancer, Red Mage, Bard, Beast Master, Dark Knight, Paladin, Mystic Knight, Gambler and Mime. (Game was still bad!)

That is enough for charter classes. The strongest part of RPGs are allways the story. Choises you make in game good/bad should have effect in story aswell. Are you fighting againts forces of evil or yet are you the one who is controlling all the madness and chaos in the world...
