Who's Your Favorite Character?

There are many different characters in the campaigns and in HOMM5 stories and history.

I think that the most intersting characters are:
Zehir, Biara, Agrael, Alaron, Isabel, Sovereign.

I specialy like Agrael.
At the beginning, he seems like evil person. All the evil things that he did (including killing many people) are found out as the Sovereign's commands.
Agrael isn't truely evil. Until then, he does what helps him to survive.
When he undertands that the Soverign has chance to conquer most of Ashan, he goes against him. He doesn't want domination of demons in the world. Still, he can't be allied with the Griffin Empire, after he killed its king. Even the Elves attack him. Agrael goes against all the world-just for the justice and to do what he thinks is good.
He goes agaisnt his brothers, the demons. It's very hard to do a thing like that.
He knows that nobody will help him as he is. He creates a new idenity for himself-Realag (Have you known that 'Agrael' and 'Raelag' are made of the same letters? ).
Again, he goes agaisnt many other armies (Dark Elves, in this case) to reach his goal.
He falls into Biara's trap, that helps him save Isabel only to free the Soverign.
Anyway, he's although get allied with the Griffin Empire in the end, to reach his goal.
He always does everything to reach is goals, and does it in the smartest ways.

Except of the strategic side, there's other side about Agrael-the "Romantic Agrael".
He loves Isabel. He does everything he can to save her. He helps her (except of in the first campaign, where he followed the Soverign's commands) and do many things to make her happy. He does all that although he knows that she doesn't love him. In the most of the campaign she atcually hates him. He's her enemy and he killed her fiance.

Eventhough, there's something mysterious about Agrael. He can't be Demon Lord, becuase the Heart of the Griffin doesn't effect him at all. When I played in the 2nd campaign, I though that he might be a Warlock, becuase of the dinosaur he rides on, like the other Warlocks. Anyway, that was just a tiny clue to the continue of the plot. The biggest question is: What is Agrael?

You have missed many things and your conclusions are flawed. First of all what the ... do you find interesting in Isabel? That she is the dumbest hero ever to appear in the series? Sovereign is the typical evil lord and Alaron shows little about himself too.

Secondly who tells you Raelag gives a rat's @ss about what happens to the world? He joined the sovereign knowing that full well. The reason is Isabel and he states it clearly to Tieru in c2m5. Even the elves? It's not as if a demonlord entered their lands which is a hostile diplomatic action in itself. Hard to go against the demons? What's wrong with you? And about doing things in the smartest of ways...I never saw a cunning plan of his. And I am VERY repulsed of his affection Ugh...
Agrael was a dark elf all along, he just wore a red armour when in demon service. Also he was tainted by demon magic which probably made him stronger as we can plainly see in his battle with Veyer. I refuse to believe that a puny warlock could do that but Nival are a bunch of ... that have made a game riddled with plot holes. All these you have to understand them yourself and they were confirmed a long time later when the writer was interviewed. Unfortunately I have no link, it was somewhere on the celestial heavens headlines some months ago.

I don't really follow, when did that happen? The sovereign is always trapped in Sheogh.

About Agrael, You said something wrong. He wants to replace the sovereign.. Or did i just misunderstood it all? Agrael is a very weird person, since he makes you play a inferno campaign on the "good" side, you lead him (a good guy) with evil creatures around to save the world.. To ironic

My favorit person is: Wulfstan, he is just so funny!! My god!! And when you see the cut scenes with Him and Duncan, you have to laught! Everytime he calls him something... Ahaha.. love it ,

That was opinon, Lads ! ahaha Forge and fire

I felt very sad when Alaron died.  His life was one that should have been fantastic: He was the most important person in all Irollan, which in itself is a beautiful place filled with dancing and singing and art and beauty.  However, when that one king went into Sheogh, he decided not to follow, because he was too afraid, and carried the guilt of that decison, not knowing wether or not the king would have survived if he had followed.
Then, in his reclining years, he was unable to defend the kingdom for himself, and had to send other elves to do it.  Then, after all the strife he went through, he is finnaly killed in his own home, and goes with resolution to his doom.  However, he fears death, as he belives that he will be judged by Sylanna, his goddess, and fears that he may be sent to whatever their version of The Feilds of Punishment are.

I also liked Tieru, one of our only connections with the misterious Dragon Knights.  He had a very clever strategy for doing good.  While he did not actually go out and save people, he did wait on his rock where those who are actually worthy could come to him.  This proves they deserve  his help, if they made it that far.
He was also one of the few characters in the game that seems to have a sense of humor, albiet dry. He does see the greater good though, as he helps Agrael stop being evil.  I felt sad also when he died, and I really enjoyed the cinematic afterwords.

Isabelle: A lot of people see her as being dumb, the usual argument being that she is too thick to realize that a necromancer brining back her husband is not a good idea, but lets look at it this way:

We first see her as a rebelious youngster, and then quickly a fiery warrior driven by her own vission of Ashan. Her primary goal is to save Nicolai.  She endure the horros of war, even attacks her own subjects, all in the hopes of saving the man she loves.  Then, when she finnaly reaches him, she does not get there in time, and Nicolai is killed by Agrael.  Isabelle regards this as a personal failure, and goes a little bit crazy.
Then later, when a misterious outcast comes to her offering just what she wanted most: A chance to get Nicolai back.  She's willing to do this at any cost, and so she plunges back into war.  A lot of people see her turning on Godric to be really stupid, but if you look at it from her perspective, Godric was attempting to stop Nicolai from coming back.
Then later, when Raelag offers to take her to saftey in Irollan, you would think she would be happy to.  But she's done too much to stop now, and so she goes on.  When Nicolai returns, the event she has been waiting for for months, and turns out to be an evil monster, she realizes she has lost everything: Friends, Loves, and Allies, and is now utterly alone.  Faced with this, she looses her mind.

He says that to Biara to gain her support. Actually she mentions that first! Btw I didn't mention my favourite heroes! My top is Agrael(not Raelag ) as I like his though and bitter attitude. He respects his enemies yet is ruthless. Zehir is a bright fast thinking fellow that has some good comments but I can't prefer him to Agrael. And I naturally like Wulfstan! He is being silly and immature all the time but his way of thinking makes me smile! Markal was efficient but disgusting and Findan I liked but just not as the other two. Somehow his poetic outlook of life and honour don't make me hate him hehe! Duncan is a bit exagerrated and Ylaya is more about Malassa than her own self. She seems intriguing though and a logical person. Freyda and Godric are not that interesting imo, not sure why.

I love the part in C2:

"I have been defeated! My honor is stained! Let me die!"
"If your honor means so much to you, live on and redeam it.  Life is too important to just throw away.  If you live long enough, you'll learn that."

Daystar: That reminds me of when I first heard Alaron's recounting of his history. When he said "We watched as they destroyed the flower of the Griffin Empire..." I was eating a snack at the time and misheard it to "We watched as they deflowered the Griffin Empire..." and thought, "Whoa... they were watching the Griffin knights get raped?" Though I guess that IS what happened too...

I'd go for either Zehir(well there's a reason for him being my avatar ) for intelligence, cleverness and sense of humor, or Wulfstan(OMG he is so funny. He should be a comic). I ejoyed Markal, Tieru and Sovereign as well .
I also liked Narxes, Zehir's advisor. He was funny in special way. I most liked him constantly interrupting Findan(who is as terrible as Isabel).

Treeshagging pixies is my favourite term...
Wulfstan is awesome, but I sort of like Markal the most. A great, well-developed, smart, witty character.
The scene with raising Nicolai from the dead is just great... Is there a problem, my queen?

'Is there a problem, my Queen?' is also awesome...

now you all say Zehir was a good one, he was very bad in my eyes. He had this young attitude! His humor was VERY VERY bad, he though he was better then he really was, the actor that made the voice was really bad.. Sorry Zehir is one of the worst, just like Fíndan, again a bad voice choice.

But as some of you say, Markal was a rather okay person. You could feel his evil purpose... And how he used Godric and isabel and other persons. A little snake he was.

I like Zehir the most for being easy-going and for his marvellous special, Agrael, cuz he is the best made character and Nathir, cuz he has the best appearance (don't ask me why) and nice special. I do also like his history.
Heroes I do HATE are:
Duncan- he is kinda stupid, has veryyy big hands and says stupid things to Freyda.
Freyda- cuz she likes stupid things, which Duncacn says to her...
Raelag- he is so gay (appearance only)...
And I think that's all...
