Not too bad if you're mage. Not much survives two blasts and those fortunate enough to do so die at the hands of my army.
I will say between the Mage and the Paladin, I enjoyed playing as the Paladin more. All you need is some Order magic and you become very difficult to stop.

I'm playing Paladin, but I'm leaning more towards his magic side. Ressurections all around.

Resurrection and Battle Cry will be your bread and butter throughout the rest of the game. Also, it would benefit you to add points to Training so you can get the Knights's Circle Attack.

Probably because I was used to the Heroes-like "no casualities" victories.

Who needs knights since you've got black dragons? 
Oh and when, or better if, you get vampires you can pretty much walk through the game without any losses against living enemies.
greatest damage dealers for me so far (level 22, 15000leadership) are skeleton archers for single troop and black dragons for masses. Dragon fire FTW!
BTW. I play that no casualties way too. Luckily I had resurrectin from the start. That compared with inquisitors and vampires is a good way to keep it at that. Beating overpowering enemies and even some impossible ones without losses is possible when you get concentration and Lina.

Sorry but something that slow just doesn't fit my strategy.
I don't have mass haste yet. Only advanced and boots that give +1 power to haste and slow.

Mass haste is a... must!
And Knights rule. Slow, but deadly, great for protecting ranged things. Just like dendroids.

Not really, all my troops (vamps, ancient vamps, horseman, griffin, Black dragon,) reach the enemy in the first turn anyways with tactics level 2.

I forgot how challanging the game gets when you get to the later parts of the Dwarven lands. Oh well. A lvl. 3 Geyser spell sure is a nice equalizer. 2 shots thins out crowds nicely.

It was a fun game but I gave up pretty quickly on the replay. My first time through was as a warrior on normal difficulty. There were some tough battles but I was able to finish.
My second attempt was as a mage on hard. It was easy enough but I got bored when clearing the Freedom Isles at Level 10 and have given up.

Once you get Geyser, the game is pretty much a wash as the Mage. I heard Sacrifice is a game-breaker as well.

On a side note, i am having a bit of a struggle with my wife(s)..don't we all ? wich is the better for a Paladin ? Currently I am married to Feanora, but I didn't get lucky with my off-spring....
Guess what I am asking for is a small spoiler as to how many wifes there are , total, and what their bonuses are.
What would be a decent Leadership count at say, lvl 15, for a Paladin !?
( Currently, I am at app. 5K at lvl 10 )

This, at first glance, funny and inoffensive dragon can be in the right hands, a powerful weapon. First, he live under a tree and hunts butterflies, but over time becomes very dangerous and defend their princess. Help him to train nine unique skills, all of which he can improve over time.

1A: Maybe some chargers or power ups? take the egg the dragon puts on the map and the creatures gain skills/stats.
1B: A kick which deals normal damage (not fire, poisonous, etc.)?
1C: Looks like H5 Imperial griffins Battle dive.

2B: Puts a treasure chest on the map, which gives gold to the one that picks it up.

3A: Same as 1C, only that it deals fire damage and it's more than just one dragon (HoMM Meteor shower)

Yes probably. I will probably miss those old spirits, but it makes sense. He reminds me somewhat of Stitch (the blue guy from Lilo and Stitch)
