you forgot to add that summon elementals is affected by terrain so if you're playing as wizard on desert you'll only get air or fire elementals out of it

another good use for arcane crystal is when fighting mixed creep armies like in treant thickets, if you place a crystal between the archers the treants will "help" out the archers by destroying the crystal, so they can "fire at will", too bad that the archers die from the explosion

blade barrier is one of the best spells in the game, you can kill any large creep easily(beside dragons), you just need lots of mana to keep spamming barriers to keep them occupied, its basically a low level phoenix

yes, but at least you know that on some terrains you won't get useless earth elementals no matter what(not that they're useless creatures, i love it when i can buy 4 of them early on from a conflux, they're the perfect archer protectors )

Arcane Crystals vs archers is a godsend period.  Especially if you havn't got much spellpower (and/or frenzy/pm/blind).  Just plop it down and they have to move around it to attack.  Usually by that time you have a critter to block them.  Don't even have to have high skill (like wasp swarm) to use it correctly.  Even if it never breaks, it serves it's purpose.  Unfortunately have yet to figure out how to 'safely' destroy it with 'ranged' heroes.  Melee heroes can just attack it and it also damages the enemy however.

That's good to use when you have a few single gremlins or skeleton archers. Starting initiative is random but it's not uncommon that the hero will get to cast and your single units destroy it before the opponent moves. Btw I could swear that I have summoned earth elementals on grass, if I'm right I'll post a link to a replay.

of course you can summon earth elementals on grass, i was saying that in the desert you don't get earth elementals, here are the elementals summoned based on the terrain, taken from the fan manual

grass: Air/Earth
dirt: Watter/Earth
sand: Air/Fire
lava: Fire/Earth
snow: Watter/Air
taiga: Air/Earth
subterranean: Earth/Watter
dwarven subterranean: Fire/Earth
water: Water/Air

Agreed with Elvin about deep freeze and i think that warlocks need more late game spells like this one...

Last time i checked Ignite did not work on armageddon............

What about this Combination: Worlock's Luck + Empowered Spells + Ignite + Armageddon! this means 1.5(empowered spells ) * 2(ignite) * (2 Warlock's Luck) of the normal Armageddons damage. So its 6 Times stronger! Furthermore all enemies have reduced armor 50% for 1 round due to Secrets of Destruction which you get before Ignite skill. Only Problem with this tactic is that your army will suffer half the firedamage of armageddon. But you could combine this with the fireresistance skill from the light tree. than you would just get 0.75 of the normal armageddon's damage while your opponent suffers 6 times the damage. This sound quite good to me



normally,everything on the battle field will gone after a worlock's lucky
armageddon.master of fire is a great skill, if the units take the defense
command they would lost more than 50% defence.an example,a treant takes defense command with stand your ground ability and then affected by the master of fire it's defence will be only 1!dont know if it is a bug..
