What do you consider to be the best/worst artifact?
There are too many for a poll, so lets just hear your opinions.
Refer to http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes5/artifacts_hof.php?page=1 if you need an overlook. The Tear of Asha is excluded for obvious reasons ^^.
In my opinion, the best artifact is Scale Mail of Enlightenment. There might be better armor in final battles or when you hit the level cap in a campaign mission, but 20% more exp from anything goes a long way to make your hero grow faster.
Edit: Staff of the Netherworld is also a great one, pretty much regardless of hero type/faction.
The worst is Ring of the Unrepentant. Immunity to Word of Light? Great, there are two factions in the game that could potentially profit from this at all, Undead and Inferno, and there aren't that many heroes set out to use Word of Light. Most heroes that pick Light Magic do so for the Mass casts, not for damage.
The 4 tomes are also a bit lacking for a relic. Well, I guess they are handy if you try to have a Warlock with Light Mastery ^^.
But either you don't have the respective skill, which makes the spells pretty weak, or you have it and probably already know most spells of that school.

Best relic? Staff of netherworld. Especially with sylvan or dungeon.

Ring of Speed and Staff of Netherworld are just plain broken. Either will win you the game unless you're really badly off.

Or Ring of Speed if you play against Dungeon (or magic hero generally) with a might orientated hero 
It's all situational... for a Necro with 1 knowledge Crown of Sar-Issus is the best one, if you face someone with Dark magic the Armour of Forgotten Hero is great... etc.
But it's true the initiative artifacts are probably the most important ones. Luck and morale arties come at second place for me, at least when I'm not playing a strict magic hero.

Personally I like the Unicorn Horn Bow. But then again, I play rather defensively, let the ranged units rain down death and destruction, before sending in the melee units.

The best one is the Tear of Asha, ofcourse. 
Ring of Caution is a terrible one, in my opinion. Probably the worst.

I vote for the staff of the netherworld too. Imo the cloak of death's shadow can be very powerful in certain situations.
I think the all-seeing crown is the worst.

i always thought ring of caution was quite awesomish if you play against creeps in a certain strategy that only deploys one unit
like tactics +ring of caution is a sort of free extra 2 defense an attack, and youd probably want that really early on (you could always take ring off if you wanted)
I always thought it was quite amazing if you were the sort to play defensively employing only one stack (like gargoyles vs druids)
I also think that ring of speed and staff of the netherworld are best of course but a close second is the greaves of the dwarven kings (the ones with the no-slow bonus)against a dark magic user
Agreed on the all seeing crown. that one is almost always a bit pitiful

Most of the times sextant of the sea-elves sucks  All seeing crown can be very important if you get it early.

Nahhh the Ring of the Unrepentant still has kind of style you know? Or it's function may suck but I like the name and what it stands for so its not last for me. Yeah all seeing crown is probably the looser... come on a bit more sight? Apart from staff of the Netherworld and Ring of Speed which are broken as allready said I really like the Windstriderboots... they can reaaaally make the game for you.

Sextent of the sea elves is ok actually.Certainly wouldnt say its the worst out there.
But i miss the captains hat

Yeah the windstrider boots and the ring of vitality are also very good, considered the former is a minor and the latter is a major artifact "only".

Windstrider with inferno or sylvan may end the game.. One blitz attack with luck from a few units and you can devastate an army.

Apparently I'm the only one voting for the Boots of the Swift Journey  It's very handy especially in the early part of the game. But for battle arties, my first choice goes to Lion Crown. On the next list comes Windstrider Boots or Unicorn Horn Bow, depending on whether your troops consist mainly of archers or melee units. Rings such as Ring of Speed or Ring of Broken Will should also get respect. Man it's really a tough choice isn't it... Good job, Nirual. Maybe we should also see a thread about best combination of relics overall that a hero should wear.
The funny thing about the list is.......... Tear of Asha is priced 20K!!!  Whereon earth can you buy it???

As far as I know Tear Of Asha is priced 1.000.000 Gold, although you never get the option to buy it (or sell it, hopefully).
As for another very powerful artifact that few people have mentioned, I'd say Necklace of the Bloody Claw. This artifact is generally easy to get hand on (Minor) and can give you a huge boost in damage potential of your army, particularly in early game.

Best: Tie between Staff of the Underworld and Ring of speed
Worst: there are a lot... but I figure that the Ring of the Unrepentant is way up there. I suspect that it only really was there when/if there ever was consideration for a light magic class and it was never modified or taken out when it was decided that there would only be one class of hero per town. Even Wizards rarely have a spellpower high enough to make using Word of Light worth it instead of a mass spell.
Enough said.

Yeah, it depends but staff of the netherworld screw late game big time.
For example, with dungeon I ALWAYS pick a "minor artifact" as a starting bonus - getting the best artifact for them: emerald slippers is kind of hot. Then if lucky enough to get stone spikes in the guild, all those shooters/casters become much easier(meaning less mana is used) because if AI split into 4 stacks then 2 stacks are hit by (empowered) spikes.
