Persona 3

I just thought I would start a topic that delves into my latest game purchase.  Persona 3.

First off, I have never played any of the other Persona games because honestly I'm not a big Anime fan and most these games play out like a big cartoon movie with a few choices thrown in for you to make.  This game is no exception but somehow has me hooked anyway.
You play the main character known as...main character.  You name him.  I'm American so I chose a basic name that is familiar to me.  What I didn't know was that it is set in Japan so everyone but my character has a Japanese name.  great.

Anyway, so the main character (like most RPG main characters) has no parents.  They died or something so now he has to transfer out to a very nice private high school set up like a college campus.  Wouldn't you know it, in this particular area of Japan there just so happens to be a problem that occurs in between midnight and 1:00 in the morning known as "The Dark Hour" where a crap-load of people transform into crystallized coffins and those that don't become human fodder for oily looking creatures known as Shadows.  Then there are still others who have the ability to call upon a second soul that just so happens to reside inside of them.  This second soul is called a Persona.  You call upon it by pointing a gun at your head and pulling the trigger.  Not sure how you stay alive through all those gun shots but you do and you get kick ass powers along with it.

So your basic goal is to wake up, go to school, hit on the ladies, make some friends (social links are important in the game), and kill shadowy monsters every night so they don't eat everyones brains.

Rent it.  Buy it.  Whatever.  PLAY IT!

Speak no more, my red cheeked friend. That sentence alone is more than enough for me to try it.

I had lasers shot at my face the other day.  You should have seen my cheeks then.  You think they're red now?

But yeah, the game is good if you can stomach A LOT of in between story.  Like I said before, It plays out like an Anime Movie with some choices thrown in for the hell of it.

Somebody please tell me they've played this game or have heard of it because I am making a second reply in a row in this topic. My post count will not increase...and neither will yours.
Anyway, I just thought I would take this oppurtunity to say that about two weeks ago I reached the end of the game and the final boss.  The boss's powers are based off of Tarot Cards so every time you depelete it's HP, it simply flips out another card, gets new HP and new powers as well as new strengths and weaknesses.  It's a royal pain in the ass and between working overtime and doing homework I havn't yet been able to beat the game.
Just thought I would share that with you guys.
