Supposedly (or at least last time I checked which was a long time ago) you can also determine if you are right or left hemisphere dominate by which hand you use to write with.  If you are right handed, your left side is dominate.  If you are left handed, it is your right side.  Ambidextrious I guess would mean that neither is dominate (though they may not work together hehe).

As for me I was born using my left hand, my first teacher refused to teach left handed (still believed that lefties were the children of Satan..no lie), so I was forced to learn how to use my right hand.  Now I am ambidextrious but my right hand is slightly better then my left do to training.  And people wonder why I am so chaotic....

Try this many times but it always turns clockwise, tho I believe I'm a left-brainer.

I think the lists aren't mutually exclusive. Every person must have qualities in both sides, but it depends on which side is more dominant to describe someone.

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it.

I'm not positive, but I don't think that's true. There's a LOT of confusion and misinformation about the left right brain thing, but I think some of the myths are slowly being dispelled.

My dad had a massive stroke a few years ago and I've done a fair amount of reading on this stuff, although the left/right brain thing being discussed here is only a part of it.

Yes, there ARE some things which are partially dependent on which hand you use, but the entire left/right functions of the brain don't swap. One thing that is usually true (but not always) is that language and speech is on the opposite side of the brain as your dominant hand.

Motor control is on both sides of the brain. Each side of the body is controlled by the opposite side of the brain, regardless of whether you are left or right handed. So the left hemisphere of the brain controls the right side of your body and vice versa. Speech and language is usually on the opposite side as your dominant hand. Speech and language includes the physical parts of speech (mouth, tongue, vocal chords, etc), individual words and their meanings, letters, and formation of sentences, grammar etc. This includes both written and oral language.

The different parts of the brain are mostly independent of each other. So just because your speech is on one side doesn't mean you are dominant on that side. Or just because your speech is on the left side doesn't mean your speech is more logical than a speech center on the right side.

Dominant is not the same thing as "good at". You can be highly dominant on one side, but not necessarily good at all the things controlled by that side.

As I said before, all people use both sides of the brain. They are constantly switching between the two. Much of the difference between people is not only which side is dominant or which things they are good at, but how well they integrate the two sides and switch between them as needed.

Something I think is cool is how the eyes work. It's not split left eye and right eye. The vision in each eye is split. The left half of the left eye and the left half of the right eye use the right half of the brain. And vice versa. So if there's an injury to the right side of the brain you won't be able to see to the left from either eye, but you can see to the right through both eyes.

If you focus on the leg that is standing you may be able to turn it around. At first I couldn't but it soon became easy. Normally I still see it clockwise.

If you are really interested in this topic a good way to study might be reading about people with split brains.  This means the left and right brain don't connect and can lead to some odd behaviors.

For example one story I read had a person asked a simple question about a drawing.  The person, because of the split, struggled but could not verbally answer the question but was able to write down the correct answer.

Odd stuff.

Yeah I got clockwise and I can't even imagine how it could go the other way lol..

And I pretty much fit none of the Right side descriptions so maybe it's true.

I am diaganally brained.  Or is that horizontal?  Cubed?  Anyhow, I think my dominate side switches, and very often.  A little ADD, shiny things syndrom, and for good messure a bit of whosawhatsit, also NGS.  A bad case of NGS.  It's fun, it's chaotic...it's all good

For those of you who may not recognize the above...
ADD = Attention Deficit Disorder (or something like that)
Shiny Things Syndrom = Often distracted easily by shiny things.
Whosawhatsit Syndrom = This is when somebody says something to you, in person, clearly, but you have no idea what they are going on about.  So you say.. "Whosawhatsit now?"
NGS = Nice Girl Syndrom.  You feel it is your duty to take care of people when sick, avoid arguments when possible, and live by the golden rule of "Do onto others as you would have them do unto you."

Whoa.

I worked out how to make her change directions at will.

(after thinking it crazy that she could do it and even doubting that it was even real)

if you can't, try focusing on her foot shadow rather than her body. its more subtle than her actual leg.
think about whether the foot is swinging in front of her body closest to you, or behind it. when you decide, try to picture the opposite happening.

i can now do it so that she never completes a full swing, just swinging 90 degrees then flipping back and going the other way 90, back and forth

creepy.

ROFL.

IF you carefully look at the animation, it includes both spinning clockwise and anti-clockwise.

The animation shifts from one to another in certain time. So, you will see it either clockwise or anti-clock wise.. BUT IT DEPENDS SOLELY ON THE TIMEFRAME OF ANIMATION.

This has nothing to do with brain LOL. Nice try

I thought that as well, but it's actually legit.

I saw it change randomly after about 20 seconds and I kinda figured that it was just part of the animation trick.

But then I discovered how to make it change directions at will and can do it as often as I like, when I like, so it can't be scripted..

After your last post, i really wanted to ckeck it... and amazingly, it really works..

I even made it feet "patrol" between 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock constantly.

I must say i was very wrong with last post... this works.

What i noticed about my results is that if i look at it carelessly, it will be clockwise... only by concentrating i can turn it to anti-clock, and it needs constant check to keep it that way.

So i guess my right side is prevailing

If you open the animation in a two-dimension animation program and look at it in frames, you will see that the dancer turns only once (which is looped) so it is impossible for her to turn one way and back the other way.

That's the best part.

Yes, there is only one animation, but if you loop it backwards you get the reverse one. Now since all frames are played in less than a second, your brain can see them as reverse...

Something similar to looking at tires of automobile when it gets to high speed. You can see the protection on tires moving in 2 directions because of speed.
