Halloween

Ok, I know it came from a 'pagen' holiday, yeah I know it is supposedly bad and all that.  It, however, is my favorite holiday.  Even those you get gifts for.  You get to scare people, dress up (adults don't get to do this enough for me), and give out goodies also.  I love the haunted hayrides/mansions/trails/ ect.  Usually I go all out.  Fog machines, decorations, costume, whole nine yards.  Yeah, so I am just a big kid.

Anybody else like this holiday?  If not what is your favorite? If you still dress up, what do you usually go as?

Uh, I think Halloween is fun coz of those costume and other stuffs.  And I must admit I'm fond of trick and treat? Is that what you call them?

But our religion isn't really fond of celebrating Halloween.  And instead of doing trick or treat or having costume parties etc... we offer prayers to the saints.

Demo...my favorite holiday must be Christmas! Ofcourse, I get all the gifts and money! And there are lots of foods!

And maybe second to that is New Year! Coz the thrill of throwing firecrackers really owns!

Cocs Cola...

Nah, i dont "dress up as a ghost" anymore.
No one in my class does.
When i was like 7-9 years old my cousins and me used to do that.

Chris-mas is much better.

Good food, Gifts, Money ^^ and my sister is always scared on chris-mas.

But you dont give gifts because of the bible... the vikings started with the gift-thing and the bible stole it.

The only sad thing is that there is no snow in sweden anymore...
No snow = no chris-mas.

Halloween is nice thing but unfortunate it's not that big thing over here, mostly kids fun. I don't know any adult that wears costumes on Halloween (except Comic book guy from Simpsons) We have some other day than Halloween (don't know english name) where kids wears costumes and go door to door singing for candy. In Halloween there might be some costume parties but there aren't that "trick or treat" thing what we see on american movies.

I don't like halloween . Since its an american tradition and here in denmark we just steal! And we dont even do as much as Americans do! The kids just dress scary!'

And now that we have halloween ! we have 2 of those: Dress out traditions! we got something called: fastelavn - Its the same as halloween though the theme is different, you can dress out as everything, you hit a barrel with candy(in old days there was a black cat inside ...) and the kids go out to beg for "candy" . But in these modern days they get FREAKING MONEY!!!

So in Denmark halloween has been stolen so the shops can earn money on those foolish parents who buy customes for children.. Denmark is so! wannabe!!

I like the idea of Halloween but it's not celebrated around here. Christmas for me, it makes me feel better at that period. I'll admit it's not really because I feel its religious significance but I have fond memories and I have more fun. Even better it's close to new year's eve so yay for extended holidays

Halloween is essentially Concert Night for me. It's two hours of me performing with others on a stage, and I can play any type of music I want (er, minus the cuss words). Since stage time is precious and this is only once a year, I cherish every minute of it.

This year, I'm dressing all black (MCR style, but not exactly) and playing a mixture of acoustic and hopefully electronic stuff. It should be fun.

My favorite costumes are the Vampiress and the Witch.  Course since the closest my beliefs come to is wiccan (not exactly the same, but closest) it's a bit odd hehe.  I love telling scary stories, and often volunteer at my library. I stick to the traditional stories there, making the kids jump is fun .

My house is a kids dream on halloween.  Usually all decked out, and more candy then a candy store.  Of course they usually hide behind the bravest.  Fog machines, black lights (why do they call them black when they let out purple or blue lights?), props.  It's fun.  Lets me be a kid again, even if only for a day hehe.

These days, Halloween is not what it should be. Nowadays, its a kinder, gentler, more child firendly type of what it used to be its not spooky anymore. While sitting infront of the furniture with a cup of coffee, cacao, tea and good friends telling spooky and creepy stories. And that the celebration itself were alot more worthwhile.

Then you have never been to my house on halloween.  We do our best to put on a fright.  They usually line up to be let in to be scared.  I agree though, halloween without a scare is just not halloween.  Spooky stories, people jumping out at you, eerie laughter echoing through the night...woohoo.  My brother is a bit better at scaring then me, but he has an advantage he is a bit bigger and scary even out of costume (He's actually a giant teddy bear, but people seem intemidated for some odd reason).  I tell a better scary story though hehe.

Anybody that visits on halloween is always invited to stay for a story.  It is told in our kitchen with only candles and darklights for light (around a table).  We don't have a fireplace or that would be where it would be held.  Sometimes I have my brother 'jump out' at the end of the story, sometimes not (got to keep them guessing).  It's a spooktacularly good time.  I think it is funner for me now as an adult then it was for me as a child.
