I think this is a great idea, Vlaad. I've just noticed you got a QP for it, which you certainly deserve.
These groups aren't very surprising - many people "settle down" on one subforum, and obviously, get contacts with the closest people to them. I think that the 'Superstars' are those who post on different areas of the forums, more general posters.
I don't have an answer for what's better, having many friends (or fans?), that some of them might be close and some only little, or being in a closed group, where everyone is equaly a friend of everyone.
I think that a community that it's enjoyable to be in, is one where most of the people have atleast one arrow towards them, and an arrow towards another person. What means that most of the people see someone as their friend, and most of the people are seen as friends by someone else. I think that HC is not very far from that.
Maybe next year we should do another one, and to see what have been the social changes in the community.
I decided to upload this to the HC Filespace, so it will stay here and won't disappear with the time.

Heehe this turned out nicely Thanks for the work Vlaad. I'm actually not surprised that we have those superstars eventhough I had expected 1 or even 2 more. But I really think its funny how other people want to know wheter they were picked as friends or not... well shouldn't you know? And incase you want to be one I guess it won't be that difficult to find one afterall this is HC.
Eventhough I have to admit I was a bit curios myself. But I am sure people who want a friend will find one here. Besides you don't have to be consider as somebodys "close" friend for him to like you.

Oh really? As far as I would judge you you seem to be very out going, sharing all kinds of personal information with people here, basically talking much (I don't mean this in a negative way), seemingly very selfconfident (atleast on this forum I don't know you in rl) and rather detached... my guess for the second big ball was actually you because of that(I hope you understand that none is this is ment negatively...).The super big ball is obvious *cough*Lizardmen*cough*

Thank you . Doubt it though. Though I am an open book (got tired of Hiding who I was a LONG time ago) I am kinda as you said..detached. I protect myself from getting to attached to anybody. Some people sneak in under the radar, but they are few and far between.

I came up with a new idea for a sociagram:
To ask everyone what is his/her favorite forum (like Temple, Tavern, Altar...) Then s/he should choose one person which is the closest to him/her at that forum and the closest to him outside of the chosen forum.
That will show us what are the connections between the different forums, in what forums will we find people who feel they have no friends from other forums, etc.
It should come out something like this:
(The red line delineate the forums)
Well, what do you think? All you have to ask for is:
1. Favorite forum
2. Best forum friend
3. Best friend outside of the forum
