People don't play ghost mode so I'm not really surprised this was overlooked. As for spectator mode I am totally against it, it would be giving away too many things even if the stack size was not shown. What I'd like is the option to enter town, check the hero screen etc.

what ideas do you have to make mp mode more excited ? what about controlling monsters or sth ?
maybe some minigames during enemy turn ?!

Controlling neutrals is out exactly because it tips you off to the enemy's plans. Likewise ghost mode sucks because long turns can give too much advantage to the ghosts as I see it. However a middle ground can be reached if the mapmaker places player controlled garrisons, I simply love those maps. And I don't really care for minigames, I prefer to minimize and check the forums or chat on msn.

simultaneous turns are still the best way to go, just make them reactivate if there isn't a need for separate turns

In case of the game itself, i think the worst factor is the balance of units, some alt still not balanced.

Imo, Online capability depends on the developer commitment to the game. Yeah, nival and ubisoft are the guilty, not HoMM itself.

Well, I can say that you really have to play HoMM on good machine, and at least 1GB ram, but still... the more you have, better it is.
Had some looong waitings on friend's computer. It was like: I started the game and I needed 2 minutes (120 sec) to enter the city. I was like: "...pokreni danas..." - means: "...start today..."

All in all, the game is good. I'm satisfied with HoMM 5. I liked 3 also, but this is a whole new world... And I'm still convinsing people (on my example) to join and play... I'm doing pretty well nowadays...

The lack of maps, that is the key problem. There are custom made maps, but, more single scenarios would do the job.
