[MOD] All Heroes of Ashan (DMessiah+ Betas+Artwork+Hidden)

Introduction

This mod adds all heroes to the game that have ever been designed for the world of Ashan. This mod is created for Tribes of the east version: 3.0

Features

-All Campaign heroes unlocked. (DO NOT USE WITH CAMPAIGN HERO UNLOCKER!)
-All Beta Heroes Added.
-All Oliver Ledroit and early artwork heroes added.
-All Characters from Dark Messiah Added.
-New specializations added and hidden specializations unlocked.
-Much more variation in specializations.
-High Quality Portraits in Hero Selection screen.
-(optional) 8 Music files for the Dark messiah Heroes.

compatibility

This mod may conflict with the dark messiah map (but probably not), I haven't tested.
This mod cannot be used together with another campaign hero unlocker.
I designed this mod to be compatible with the unique hero models for
the MULTIPLAYER Heroes. (it doesn't contain any .xdb files from these heroes.

About the names

The 'unknown' Heroes (and some clones) in the Mod have a (beta)name that I found in the gamefiles or a name from a famous hero from heroes 5 history, this is for 2 reasons:

1. All heroes must have a unique name.
2. I didn't want to come up with names myself.

If you want the heroes to have different names: Do it yourself!
It's very simple, unpack the heroesofashan-texts.h5u file with winrar and change the .txt files in the texts directory to your liking. Then repack it. I kept the text files seperated, to prevent endless discussions about how the new heroes should be named, so everyone can choose for himself.

Using parts of the mod

I'm currently losing interest in modding Heroes 5 so, I announce here, that everyone may use the material in this mod to make your own creations. You are allowed to modify all heroes to use them in your maps or campaigns. You can give them different names, models, textures, specs, write bios for them (a lot have no bios) and rerelease them as such. But please do not rerelease this mod itself with modifications.

I have currently included info in the biography section about the sources of the new heroes. (mostly oliver ledroit or dark messiah). So everyone will know the original creator.

the music

I included Dark messiah music files in a seperate optional download to add more sphere to the game. If you downloaded the music, the music files should be placed in:
\Heroes of might and magic V - Tribes of the east\music\DM\
It's important to note that the game picks the music randomly with the landscape tunes so you may not directly hear any of the new tunes when playing with a dark messiah hero, if you really want to hear it ingame restart the map a few times. You can also listen to them with a .ogg player. If you haven't got the music, nothing happens you just hear the landscape tune.

high quality portraits

This is an additional feature, some people may have noticed that the portrait quality in the hero selection screen has increased since HOF, I changed the old heroes to have the same quality.

Thanks for the support, The good news I have for you is that I'm not going to leave the community, it is just that I hardly played a HOMM5 game the last few months and the motivation for modding is fading with it. I had quite a hard time finishing this mod (90% of it has rested on my harddrive for a long time). Turn-based strategy has always been my favourite genre in computergames (Basically the only thing I play, together with some RTS) So I'm sure future releases like H6 or
disciples 3 will catch my attention.

Seems, that I wll miss mods for HommV.Badly this ends sadly.
Anyway other games exist too so why not?

Ps:So you like RTS games?I currently got C&C 3,DOW40K and dark crusade and some others.How is that with you?

I'm currently working on a similar mod which should let you choose between 11 heroes for each faction (maybe more later) and your mods "heroes of axeoth" helps me a lot(actually it looks more organized than data.pak, that's why)

@Guarder: yes no models, but everyone who likes to do it can get started on it. Unfortunately there is not much to hope for because the unique hero model thread is already quiet for along time.

@Warmonger: Hidden: Timeshift (master of sands), used by temkhan and phenrig. New (destructive): Stormbringer, Meteor Shower, Frost Ring, Priest of the Red light (guess who?), furthermore I added variations on the pathfinder/rusher concept and did a lot of faction interchanging, which gives a lot more tactical possibilities. Like siege engineer for dwarves or blood drinker and souldrinker for the renegade knights.
As you may have noticed this mod was not meant to be balanced, I was planning a second balanced edition, but at this moment I can only say I might do it later.

@Fauch: My theory about balance is that the unequal hero amounts are not a problem as long as every faction has a minimum of 8, because that means every player can recruit: 2,1,1,1,1,1,1 heroes from it's own class during the first seven weeks. And there don't exist maps with more then 8 castles from the same type. (I hope you understand what I mean, perhaps not)

@Seraphim: I mostly prefer fantasy/ancient/medieval themed games, but I very recently discovered dow is a very good one. The mix of fantasy magic/melee battle with furustic warfare makes it real fun.

I like what you have done. I tried Tieru and the druid model has no casting animation. I used imbue arrow and cast a lightning spell and Tieru froze for a few seconds with his arms stretched.
otherwise I like it, it's not balanced but it sure adds some variety. Kudos.

actually I think it looks better to have the same amount of hero by castle.
can you choose with what creatures each hero begins? (I want to do a barbarian with stormcaller which starts with a sky daughter)

Nice, nice... but when I raplaced ToE unlock heroes mod with it, now I can't play any extra heroes in scenarios. Is it something I've donre wrong or just how does this mod is supposed to work?

I would like to say that this mod is compatible with the "Unlock all Heroes" made by Sfidanza. In any case it works in my game. I just don't have the name of the Ashan's heroes in the description.

I think I didn't clarify enough in my first post that this mod should NOT
be used with the unlock heroes mod from sfidanza. THIS MOD ALSO UNLOCKS ALL HEROES!

This mod should unlock all the heroes in the official multiplayer maps and random maps, not the scenario's or custom 'downloaded' maps.
It can cause bugs in scenario's or campaigns so don't use it when playing these. It also wouldn't make sense because these are supposed to be played with preset heroes.

If you want to know how to prepare a custom map for it: read the map editor section in the accompanied text file.

Extra info for modders:
Systematically the campaign hero unlocker from sfidanza, this mod and the heroes of axeoth are all build in the same way. They all setup a framework with places for all the new heroes. This system cannot work like NCF, because all heroes in the framework must be represented, otherwise the game crashes. The mod also contains a large map section that contains all core files from the multiplayer maps to change the availability settings, that is basically the reason why the downloads from these mods are quite big.

I assume you are talking about the mod you are currently creating,
You can use the maps section from my mod or the normal campaign hero unlocker. Saves a lot of work!

Yes, I know I forgot to mention, because he has no bow, he cannot work with the ranger special abilities. However people seemed to like him  this way when sith of ziost released a standalone mod for him, so I decided to include him nonetheless.

I was just confused when trying to play on Seven Lakes , it should be one of the default miltiplayer maps?

@magnomagus: Otherwise good mod, but the some descriptions of the specials aren't working for me. Tieru looks great, but his anims don't work.

Maybe you could tell which are hte new specialities nad whic are only renamed old ones.

There are around 150 heroes, so please tell me which. I never found one that didn't work. Furthermore: do you mean descriptions in the hero selection screen or really in the game, this mod doesn't support the hero descriptions mod that shows them in the hero selection screen when you start a game.
