What are you reading now?

I don't know if a thread like this exists, if it does I haven't seen it around. Perhaps it sunk somewhere deep in the bowels of Tavern's last pages. If it did, God help it, I have no intention of looking for it...

Anyway, if you're reading a book and you like it, you could share your opinion with us here (and if you didn't like it you probably wouldn't be reading it, now would you). We have such a thread for music (what are you listening right now or something), so why not one for books?

I know a lot of people these days can't find time or aren't interested in reading, but I'm quite sure there's a lot of those who do. Just some basic info on the book and perhaps a link for those who are interested should suffice. So I'll begin to break the ice...

I found a book called "Fatherland" by Robert Harris somewhere on the shelf the other day and started reading it. It's quite good, I especially like the theme and setting (a criminal novel set in the alternate history where Germany has won WW2). More info can be found here. My sincere recommendation.

Your turn.

A while ago I finished Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut.  Sort of a collection of scattered memoirs mixed in with complete fiction.  It deals with a little time travel, though miraculously fails to come out as some two-bit sci-fi novel.  Not only is the whole thing totally ridiculous, it's also a masterpiece.

I'm almost done with Dracula and moving onto Picture of Dorian Grey and then something more modern.  I might reread Fell

I can't wait for Deja Demon: True Confessions of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom to come out, I want to find out what happens next!  Evil cliffhangery ending from the previous book in the series!

Also, I saw a book called "Moon White" has anyone read it, and if so is it Pro or Anti Wiccan?

The elder, I guess its called? The second book in the Eragon saga.. I can't get a breakthrough with it though, Paolini has a very heavy way of writing, some descriptions are beautiful yes, but to describe a lake or something in a whole page! It ruins the joy of reading but still going to finish , afterall I bought it!

want good fantasy? Septimus heap - that is a great serie Easy to read and filled with great ideas I love it

"A long way down" by Nick Hornby, one of my favourite writers. It's about four people who bump into each other on a rooftop from which they were all going to throw themselves off. Together they decide to see if life still has something to it, and they become sort of a group. Despite what idea you might get from this description, it's not depressing or clichéd or soppy or anything, it's just damn funny and well written. Each chapter is written in first person perspective, from the point of view of one of the four main characters. I don't know what it is about Nick Hornby that I love so much, but I guess it's the characters and simply the manner in which it's written. You'll have to read it to understand. I recommend it full-heartedly, and anything else by Nick Hornby, for that matter.

I have it, and so does Cardy, I guess. He tends to re-read books more than your average spanish inquisitor, but there you go.

Various online comics to be honest.  My library ran out of books for me to read that I enjoy quite awhile ago.  Every once in awhile they get a few new ones, but doesn't take me long to catch up with them.

I've been looking for the Witcher books everywhere, but I just couldn't find them... :\ I'd download them, but I can't read that much over the PC. The eyes start to hurt after a while.

I haven't been able to find them either, I heard that one of them would be released at the same time as the game.
How did you get interested in them? It was the little part in the game manual right?
