I have it now! I will see if it runs on my crackpot of a computer, then report on it in about two hours if all goes well.

EDIT - I have three words to say: what up phatness! Wow, this game makes me love the entire franchise like no other. It makes me happy that the advisor is voiced by the same guy, and that most of the sound effects are still the same. The graphics are very very great, and the building system is no longer imba, and I like that if you build a Warriors guild, the next one isn't ten thousand gold. That just ticked me off in the first games.

Three words: Archers of Helia!

I liked the game too I give it a for improving in graphics and things like new hero pics on the screen to select, there are some really powerfull defensive towers now, etc.

You should buy it if you like fantasy rpgs, rts and a simulator put togheter.

However, things I miss that were on Majesty 1 and are NOT on Majesty 2:

Many many monsters were left out;
Wizards were more powerfull even if fragile;
No cooperative vs the AI just player vs player;
The heroes had their non-combat activities almost completely removed;
No freeform maps, you no longer can create a random map and play;
More classes that are now missing.

Anyway maybe they are going to do those things on a expansion.

Actually, the only classes that are missing are the Adepts of Lunord, and the Solair of Helia (which are now replaced with awesome Archers of Helia). Oh, and the Monks of Dauros, which I didn't like anyway. The Beastmaster is the Cultist and Warrior of Discord, so its not realy missing...

The top things I miss...

- Custom Tombstones
- Easier Temples to be Built
- More spells (especially Illusionary Hero)
- Farseer! I hate not having it!
- Maybe some easy campaigns!

Btw, the monsters aren't missing, they just don't come around too often. Like I just saw my first Bearman yesterday! And my first Dragon today, so (not Rafnir)

@anti- YES! IT GOT REALLY HARD! Good lord, I must have replayed the Rafnir scenario about seven times because of those stupid Serpents!

Yes the challenge is high, sometimes things go wrong like 8 elemmentals attacking you from different sides lol. Gotta get those dwarven towers asap, destroy enemy lairs quick too.

And many enemy monster are, in fact, missing. Don't you remember the trolls, goblins, spiders, medusas, strange monsters like the flying occulos or something? Also I don't like not being able to play random maps. Not to mention I prefered to recruit many paladins from fighter guilds like in the first one, on this sequel you depend on the number of holy grounds to build their related temples and have only 2 per temple .

One thing I really liked was the addition of lords or heroes so you can recruit that powerfull guy from the last stage on the next. It would be even better if I could attach flags to areas so defend this area and not only buildings and such.

Anyway, I think they made some mistakes but I like the game. I found myself playing Majesty gold again instead of Majesty 2 hehe.

Got it yesterday...

Lacks some creeps from Majesty 1, sure, but it also has some additional stuff. You can create parties of up to 4 heroes in the inn (which gives a better RPG impression), research additional special attacks, better equipment and things like that. Besides, my bet's that there are gonna be some expansions, and additional creeps can always be put into those. And most important of all, it didn't lose the feeling of old Majesty.

Haven't gotten too far yet, but looks neat. Not that I expected any less from Paradox.

Yep, Majesty's humor is intact. I especially like the satelites on the Archmages Evil Tower, it made me laugh.

I like the whole visage changes with equipment and experience, and I also like the new Liches in the undead department.

I was intimidated by the system requirements at first, but after trying the demo I'm no longer afraid of technical issues.

As for the gameplay, there are some much appreciated additions, like the new reward flags - although their placement is less convenient than I remember from the first game.

Rangers seem much wimpier than I remember as well. I found it terribly difficult to get them to explore instead of waltzing straight into the ogre's club in high hopes of scoring the 200 gold I offered for it, when a simple walk across the map was priced at 300.

The rangers wear trucker hats now @.@
I guess it is just a humorous touch though.
Funny review of the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQJHnv36YRM.

I rarely build the elf guild (actually only had it on one mission when you gain it for free), are they really worth it? I mean you have rangers already and you can build other guilds that complement their abilities nicely.

Well, the rangers took a penalty to be downright debilitating in late game, but they like attacking at like 500 for me usually, and they like going after explore flags most of the time.

One thing I love about the flags is that right clicking a building places a Protection flag, not an attack flag like the original. I accidently clicked all the time and didn't notice, then I'm like, why are my heroes destroying my guardhouse, when it was a vampire I was after

I certainly like the dwarves better at mainlevel. About three hundred hp, then an 80 point boost at a level?! Wow, that's endurance.

The Elves start getting very good at level four on, when they start killing basic enemies in about two shots, and they fire more quickly than Rangers, but less powerfully than Archers of Helia. Plus you get Fervus's Vines from the Elves

I'd have to say one thing. BEASTMASTERS REALLY REALLY SUCK! A level one wasn't even BRAVE enough to take on four skeletons, when the Cultist would have in M1!

Still testing the Archers of Helia.

Well, they were eccentric because they were amazing! Charming Medusae was such a fun thing to do. There aren't even Medusase in M2! But hopefully, the Expansion lets Lunord return with a couple more units per god and like FIFTY new monsters cause its pretty limited right now.
