Man Im such a pillowcase!!! I had him just as a test alone, he´s not even supposed to be there!

Just delete him and go on as if nothing happened

edit : Rilo that is. Mutare drake is supposed to come to this area in like ¨month 5-7 or so...

Ah? I was enjoying so far: took the tower north with Solmyr, Mutare joined the 4 dragons and got twice water walk (from scroll and event near the scroll). Also found 400 000 gold on day 4, which is cool.

BTW, the event in front of Solmyr is in klingon language.

Do I have to delete everything now?

From the beginning I didnt have the scroll that gives you Waterwalk, but since I dont get WW from the event like 50% of the time I needed to add it. (It removes the feeling of being lost since you kinda clearly see whats gonna happen).

You do have to start over though, without Rilo and only with mutare Drake and the Storyteller, blame it on me

Your problem is that Mutare is basic wisdom and if the upcoming skills offered are not including wisdom advanced, that is the reason of not being able to learn water walk. Give her advanced wisdom on start and the event will work 100%

I am confused:

I restarted without Rion. Mutare took the first castle and then collected some creatures. 350 hell hydras joined me starting week 2. Then the AI became ridiculously easy. Defeating 1 swordsman gave me 7 gold dragons at the seer hut(?). Black dragons+blue dragons+shadow dragons+hell hydras+gold dragons= a nice -5 morale for all fights. Not to mention all those huts which keeps giving me fire, air, archery, skills which I don't need as I prefer offense/armored/leadership, being dragon specialist. As I unchecked commander artefacts, I can't equip them on my hero, so I will have only 10 skills.

Can you please relate what you do on the first 2 weeks? It also says that I have to capture the first tower before day 21, but I did not see anyone in sight. I can take Solmyr second week also. Getting Solmyr is the best way for you to instantly be hated by all good players, as Solmyr is considered very bad hero. You may want to change him to any else...

Shoot me!!!! You are doing everything correct except that I forgot to delete the Hell Hydras. You shouldnt have them at all. just delete them and play on.

Man, I had some stuff on the map for easy testing in the beginning and it seems as if I forgot to take these Hell Hydras and Rion away.

Its painfully embarressing that I forgot to do these 2 stuff before upping the map. Hopefully you are okay with it.


Edit: about what to do. The tower castle is located north, you should see it kinda quickly as you after Solmyr have nothing left to capture. You probably took the Castle too between the two Garissons, something you shouldnt have been able to without the Hell Hydras.

Okay. Can you please test it again, and when it is empty of testing creatures, uploading it again? Just do a fast testing mode with 9999 azure dragons and complete all the roads. Then I will restart the test.

Also I think a better hint pattern will help: defeating the swordsman should send the player to the seer hut. Still, the morale problem is a battle breaker, as the 600 archers have almost always high morale and those crusaders keep hitting me with death blow 50% of times. Too bad you don't use scripts, as basic scripts are need to center the view on the next objective, which helps greatly. (you defeat the swordsman, the view is centered on the seer hut + message).

I have deleted all the teststuff now, you should be able to continue on the game you are at. Really, its all good

About the Castles, battles and morale it was never my intention that the player should keep these first 2 castles anyways. You can of course do it, and should be able to do it with close to no losses. The Dragons will be replaced by Tower creatures and your morale should be ok. That its bad in the beginning was also something I had in mind and something you can protect yourself from with leadership. You didnt get it in the beginning? You have had hell hydras which have lowered your morale lower than I intended.

Also in the story it says where you should go. The events tell you to head north and that the "The Dragon Slayers have been ambushed indeed, but message has been sent to the central parts of the Kingdom. Reinforcements will come." Then at day 15 you are told to run for your life because they are coming for you. The player is also told to leave north then, if not already done.

Rion and Hydras are all that needed to be deleted, so you can continue where you are at if you wanna.

I have changed it so that you can learn Leadership at a Hut. If you wanna do it all over I can upload the latest.

Okay. Send me an email and I will show you how to custom the seer huts, so the player will have additional hints. it changes nothing to the game, only center the view on the specified hut. Starting again

Just to let you know that the "powerful hero" which makes you run for your life can be beat week 3. Roova with 2350 crusaders. Ammocart, 18 titans, waited him in castle, destroyed his catapult on first turn, then took a while, as he is 70 defense, but he died anyway. So I have now his nice castle too and tons of unexpected experience. Lost the commander to miss click.




After that, month 2, day 1 I lost to Ka'man, as he has tremendous army and double stats comparing to mine, there is no where still to go, so all I had to do was to attack him. He lost his 90 ghost dragons, but the 180 death knights and 360 power liches got rid of my 35 titans. Too hard. If you have a miraculous strategy to beat that one, I take it. The only solution would be to have balistic and block the gate, but still he can animate 40 liches every turn and has 300 vampires lords+ wraiths who will pass over...or to use Solmyr with hit and run for 3 months.

I don't get the idea why you advice the player to attack him with Solmyr. He will die in one turn and his pitiful chain lightning will not even scratch the undeads. It is preferable to keep him as scout and collect resources (he took admiral hat and all the mines).

The story is okay, the only thing that bothers me (only a bit) is that it seems I will have a lot of units but not many dragons. As I am dragon specialist, I was hoping more for having them, no titans. But I am only week 5, so this may change.

Yo, I've been Jontas guinea pig at the earlier draft of the map and since he is most likely asleep(at least he should be since no sane person should still be up at this hour) I thought I'd take the liberty to butt in.

Yeah, you can kill the guy they send after you fairly quickly without much difficulty, problem is though (without spoiling much) is that you will be missing out on getting quite alot of better units and other stuff while you're sill down there. At least at the start it pays off to move forward so as to not miss out on special events and similar( I learned that the hard way... )

Hmm, don't remember Ka'man being that tricky, I'll about to start over with the map as well, I'll see if I can come up with a suitable tactic =)


Oh, and don't worry about the lack of dragons, trust me ^^

I took the tower(and everything else) week 2 and came back to kill him. So I have maximum units. I checked in editor and there are no other hidden paths or events. How you beat the necro with 35 titans?

Right, so I'e reached and killed him on day 5 on the third week (a bit early but meh).

I brought 4 titans, 10 diamond dragons, 24 lords of thunder, 195 Archmages, 100 obsidian gargoyles, 28 master geanies and 72 Naga queens.

First round I used mass slow, and concentrated on attacking the lich kings with my ranged leaving 10-15 of them or so. (I had expert archery which helped)

then I waited with everyone except with gargoyles which I used to block a hole in the wall (so as to make them attack him instead of concentrating on units that matter).

undeads make their move, Ghost dragons fly close enough for my nagas to attack.

Next round I used Frenzy on Lords of thunder, killing the ghost dragons, after that it was all mostly about keeping things at bay, which worked, but could have gone better.

Net loss was all my geanies and gargoyles (which I really mostly just used as cannon fodder anyway), 2 titans, some archmages and some nagas.

oh Right, realize only now that you didn't upgrade your titans to lords of thunder, that's why you're having problems. upgrade them in your town and it shouldn't be much problem I think =)

Urm, Titans? You should have upgraded them to Lords of Thunder in your Castle. The story says that Solmyr wants to die an honerable death and attack the castle (and loose) so that mutare drake with a couple of dragons can kill the rest. However, I usually take the Tower castle with mutare drake with close to no losses. I use mass slow and then Frenzy on my Lords of Thunder (they pretty much one-shots the ghost dragons).

You will have a massive army of Dragons later on. The story is that Mutare Drake leaves her Kingdom with only a few dragons to go on the "secrete" quest of finding the Power of the Dragonfather, but is tricked an finds herself in the middle of the world (ruled by Dragon Slayers and others) without her dragons with no way to go home. As she leaves she gets told that her Kingdom has been invaded and lost to the enemy, since she wasnt there and defended it. She needs to find her way home to her Dragon Cliff and Dragon Cave. She gets help from the Wizards and then travels through Solmyrs Maze and then later on through the Dwarf Tunnels to reach her homelands.

Solmyr and his Wizard Kingdom are the first and only one´s to help Mutare Drake. He (well his Lords of Thunder) will play a central role in the hole story and Expert archery is a serious advantage. But as I wrote in the beginning, there are no real MUSTS in skills, you can actually choose as you like. You will have a harder time in the beginning without archery but you´ll get more of an melee advantage later on since you get snowloads of dragons. And since the Barbarian axe of ferocity (called that right?) is out there and gives melee attackers an extra strike, loads of Lords of Thunder wont be that good anymore.

edit: Thing is that I think the map is too easy but I want some feedback. I still dont wanna make it too hard since I want other people than you and sydow to be able to finish it . Sydow basicly completes it (well the first 25% then he got stuck) without loosing a single unit, as do I. There are a few battles that are too hard for me when I reach them. Something I like however since that will not make it possible to just run through the map like you had 10k Azure´s.

So it is exactly as I said: with different wogifications the map can offer very different issues, some being very hard. I can't upgrade my titans and ghosts/vampires/liches/zombies are immune to slow, being ACE level when I reach the town. You said that you left 15 liches alive when shooting, I barely kill 50 our from 250. As the ghosts can' be slowed, they reach my titans on first round, and from there it is over.
