Magic: the Gathering RPG - IC
On the darkened, sunless plane of Shadowmoor, the planeswalker Vandious arrives.
Characters:
Mytical
Name : Vandious
Mana : Green/Red
Background : Having grown up in an Llanowari elven village, it is unusual that he would have found himself dawn to the power of red magic. However, Vandious was an unusual person. He left his homeland because they were too passive about protecting their lands. He feels violence should be met with violence, and they don't. His first duty is to the earth and protecting it, but he is not afraid to unleash the wrath of fire to accomplish his goals. For after every fire there is a rebirth, and birth in any form is always something to be celebrated.
Magic : His specialty seems to be creatures that trample others underfoot.

Name : Coraloatan
Mana : Blue/Black
Race : Changeling
Background : kept secret.
Magic : illusions and poisons.

Mana : Blue/Black
Background : When Kulrath was a youth his village were attacked by elves, and his family and people there were slain. He escaped barely alive, and managed to get to the Cinder people. They took care of him, and trained him in the art of Withering, to make the land die. He left them when he still was in his early ages and went without any chosen destination. He let destiny choose where he went. The elves counterattacked the destructive forces and he was driven from his home and ended up with the Cinder people.
Magic : Kulrath can fly, and he can summon illness and black flames.
Geny
Name : Amakar
Mana : Blue
Background : The thirst for knowledge and lack of emotions is common among the Vedalken, but few of them have the determination required to travel to different planes alone in order to get that knowledge. Amakar is one of those few. After learning as much as he could on his home world, especially everything he could find about machines, he began looking for new ways to extend his knowledge. Shadowmoor is the first plane Amakar has gone to in order to seek knowledge. He is anxious (or would be anxious if he knew what feelings are) to explore this new world and examine its inhabitants and most of all their technology.
Magic : Amakar has great affinity to anything highly technological.
Possible Characters to be Introduced Later:
Winterfate
A Green/White elf named Lamios.
Ceres
A Blue/White or Mono-Blue something.
AlkarRahn
A Red/Black faerie.

An elf approaches you, her spear raised cautiously.

Vand greets the woman in his peoples greetings. "I come in peace, there is no need for the weapon." he makes sure she notes that he too is an elf. Still, one of caution, he is ready to defend himself if need be.

She seems about to say something else, but then she looks at your forehead and exclaims, "You have no horns!" (she sees your feet) "And no hooves!"
She points her spear at you threateningly. "whatever you really are, your magical imitation of elvenkind is lacking!"
She does not attack you, yet. Instead, she whistles loudly and high-pitched - probably signaling for more elves to come.

"That is because I am not from this land. I am an elf, but from far away. I do not wish any conflict." Vand gets a spell ready, just in case. He didn't want to use it on a fellow elf, but violence should be met with violence. He had always believed it, and always would.

She lowers her spear. A crowd of elves gather behind her, seeming to appear from nowhere.
One of them steps forward and speaks.
"I am Shaka, leader of Safehold Tahwen. And you are?"

"I am Vandious. Perhaps you can tell me of this land? I am new here, and would like to know everything you can tell me. Perhaps some of your people, whatever you would allow outsiders to know." he keeps his voice light and pleasant. He means no ill to any Elves, or any that treat the woods with proper respect.

((I changed my ability, I prefer being a Changeling. I've never tried that before ^^))
Kulrath looks at the elves from among the wheat, and a small smile crosses his face. He had the form of a faerie, and were a rather small one. He kept out of sight, but listened eagerly. He didn't know much about this world, so any information he could gather he sought gladly.

Before Shaka can answer, one of the elves in the crowd spots something moving in the grass. Shaka uses magic to expose it:
"Oh, just one of the fae. What do you want, faerie?" Shaka asks Kulrath.

Meanwhile, in a forest not too far away, Amakar arrives.
A goblin emerges from the shadows.

Amakar looked around. His mind immidietly analized the situation:
So many trees... This place is so different from my home world Mirrodin... What's that creature? Intruiging, judging by the piece of metal he holds in his hand and some clothing he must be sentient, but that weapon is awefully crude, and the scars show that he has been in many hand-to-hand combats. I doubt such a primitive creature can be of any use to me... no, I must not be hasty with my conclusions. Any knowledge can be usefull in the right hands, besides I can always dispatch of him later. For now information about this world is my highest priority.
Amakar stepped from behind a tree and approached the goblin:
"Greetings, inhabitant of the woods. My name is Amakar and I come from a distant world of Mirrodin, who might you be?"

The fae looked at the elf and changed form to look exactly like it. A sly smile crossed the face, and the expression on the elves' faces were worth exposing Kulrath's changeling skills.
"What do I want?" Kulrath answered, the voice were the one of the elf. "I want to follow you to wherever you are going." He looked at the elf who looked a bit out of place. "I am not much different from you elves, since I can be exactly like you. I have no place, and I offer no threat. Take me with you."

Amakar: The goblin ignores you. With a savage smile, it charges, brandishing its crude knife.
((btw, the trees look weird to you since mirrodin forests look like this))
Kulrath: The elves are still suspicious. "What... What are you?"

Amakar looks at the frenzied creature running towards him with disgust, such savagery is hardly fitting to what seems like a sentient being. Amakar waves his hands and...
the goblin's knife flies away and falls in front of Amakar. The vedalken wizard picks it up and puts it under the scared creature's chin. Without any anger or menace, with a cold metallic voice Amakar speaks again:
"You're in luck, little one, before you rushed without a thought like a common animal, I have decided I'd rather talk to you than kill you. However, if you're unable to talk, you're of no use to me. So? Care to introduce yourself and explain to me where we are and how can I get to some civilization now, or would you rather die here?"
((OOC: goblins can talk... right?))

Coraloatan had taken on the shape of a giant spider, hanging from the top of tree, Coraloatan saw a goblin and a mage who used blue magic fight. "This might be interesting, mabye I could use one of those two or mabye both of them for my mission. And if they aren't of any use I'll just eat them." Coraloatan started to crawl down the tree against the place where the two creatures where standing.
OOC: This is what Geny suggested...right?

Amakar: The goblin's wicked smile vanishes, replaced by a fearful look. "Civilization, you want? Kithkin doun, Mistmeadow, that way," it points. "But they won't take you in. Kithkin: paranoid, xenophobic. You look so different, so strange, they kill you before you reach gate. You want to know where you are? You think I know? I am boggart. I destroy, pillage, slaughter, not make maps. You want maps? ask elves or kithkin. That all I know."
The goblin notices something behind you:
 ((that's Beta))
Now the goblin looks even more terrified.
Kulrath: the elves mutter among themselves that you're just an insane old fae using illusion magic. They begin to ignore you.

Amakar follows the goblin's gaze and sees the spider. Quickly he turns around to face him, holding the goblin in front of himself as a living shield with two hands, holding the knife in the third and leaving the forth one free to cast a spell. The goblin who finally understands what's going on starts shouting and trying to escape, but he is too small and weak to get out of Amakar's hold especially after Amakar reminds him he still has the knife. The vedalken looks curiosly at the beast. He has never seen anything like it before, so hairy and weird. Amakar did not know what it is capable of, and the lack of knowledge frightening him the most. He decided to try and get some information from this new creature:
"Beware creature, I am more than able to defend myself should you decide to take hostile actions. I suggest we either find a way to communicate or go our separate ways, for I have no need to harm unless you try to attack me first."

OOC: Sorry if I go against card magic or if overruling the NPC's is against the rules, please tell me.
IC: A small laugher came from the Coraloatan "hehehehehehe..." the spider looked at the goblin and with a small scream the goblin fell under the illusjon of the Coraloatan and started panicking and tried to escape. Coraloatan started to crawl against the blue mage "You...are you from... the blue guild?" he said.

The goblin started acting completely insane for some reason. It seemed that the spider scared him much more than the blade in Amakar's hand. He was becoming more of a nuissance than a shield and so Amakar threw him on the ground not caring what happens to him next. Now he could fully concentrate on that intriguing creature who seemed to posses much more intelligence than that pathetic goblin could ever has.
"Blue guild? I know not what it is. However, I do value greatly the principles of blue magics if that's what you meant. What is it you?... And what are you anyway?"

thou he had some troubles to talk the all speakened language in his spider form, Coraloatan continued "I..see...Who I am... is not... really important right now... all you ... need to know ... is that I too is able to use magic." Coroloatan took a deep breath before continuing "You wont... get much...infromation from goblins... but as it said... the elves..." Coroloatan smirked before he said "But it seems... that you are lost... now listen to this: ... If you can solve this riddle... I tell you the way...:

I can be measured,...
but not weighted...

Coroloatan though to himself "If he solve this, then he is surley of some use to me and my mission." Corloatan then remembered how hungry he was and walked to the goblin, which was paralised in fear, then he knocked him uncounsious with his posion before he started devoring the goblin.
OOC: You got three tries, and for each time you guess(the two first times) I give ya a new hint.
Edit: Ops forgot a part of the riddle...
