Is HoMM being scrapped by Ubisoft and, replaced by Settlers 6?

Did anyone play Settlers 6 demo or, the official release of that game?
If so, any thoughts as to compare the overall gameplay's extreme resemblance to HoMM5(any version of it)? Please do so.

I am currently playing the demo of it and, find it that its resemblance to its overall gameplay quite mirror like. The only difference is: it is entirely in RTS and you can upgrade your economic buildings 3 times minimum. And, you have to build your resources collection buildings as well.

The realism of the social and economic environment is absolutely astonishing. In order to claim a new territory, you can not just flag mines and invade a village in order to do so; you have to build a military outpost that you can upgrade right away for better effectiveness of it and, to elevate the importance of your claim to that same territory. The main goal at expanding into other territories is to be able to build more food gathering buildings and, to start exploiting the newly found mines and other resources found all around these newly acquired territories.

A lot similar to the Total War series when it comes to build a gathering of soldiers as for a base of an army to defend your kingdom.

That game resembles a lot of my previous proposal for an adventure map's gameplay interface as for the next instalment of HoMM6.

At first, I got surprised at Settlers' series to have lasted so long and, to have reached it's 6th instalment. It would seem that for HoMM and, for its own sake, should wind down on the childish fantasy oriented military bound approach and, improve its own rating of now, Teen upto Everyone(10+).

I do think that RTS is now, a must. Drastically diminishes the time consumed by Entertainment System(ES)'s gameplay. Took me only 4 hours of play time onto Settlers 6-Demo instead of 12 hours on HoMM5T.o.t.e.

Note: Ubisoft is the owner of the Settlers franchise also.

Eh, Luc, I hardly Doubt that Settlers 6 will replace HoMM 6. It's not like these firms are too small to create two games at the same time.

He strikes again...

I mean come on.  Both games have zilch to do with one another in terms of gameplay.

OK. Here are the options that Ubisoft and their developer companies think about the very old style of the HoMM franchise:

T.B.S. is: Totally out of really popular style world wide.
R.T.S. is: The only thing we really know how to work with and, is today's approach to new visual graphics of life-like feel of immersivity of the player into the game's overall playable environment. And, there is more than half a billion players world wide that accepts this way of strategy like gameplay. Not just a mere 3 to 5 million of them world wide but, 100 times more than tbs.

Here goes: We developers, would prefer develop a game or games that will have a certainty in future continuity of its series(more versions of the same game title). So, it is R.T.S. or, we will not deliver a product that is guaranteed to work well upon its release and, will probably take forever to refine its inner workings(game's hard-code's reworking and improving). At R.T.S. level of programming, 6 to 9 months for its version 1.0's initial release is quite guaranteed.

Ubisoft answers: The faster we can get that newest instalment of HoMM out onto the selling shelves, the way better. Then, R.T.S. it is. Otherwise, just shelve it and, start onto another one of the games that you can get out for sale a.s.a.p..

Do anyone get the general point here? Well, at least I do.

you know, if I want to play a TBS I play HOMM 5
If I want to play a RTS, I play something else

There are way too many RTSs out there, so I think that some TBSs are a must to compensate (what if I want to play a TBS?)

The existence of Nival Interactive is: NONE WHATSOEVER!

The last Forum Post onto Nival Interactive dates back early Spring of this year-2008 and, more precisely: 10th of April-2008.

ALL of their games productions ceased to exist as of November 2007(last News archive) as soon as Sergey took CEO office.

Here's Contact Information,I, personally retreived from their web-site of: Nival.com's Contact's link:

Nival Interactive Corporate Headquarters
10th Blvd.
1st-Volokolamsky proezd
Moscow, Russia
123060

Tel: +7(495)363-9630

Fax: +7(495)363-9631

E-mail contact is refusing all incoming messages at: Web@Nival.com

Furthermore, their web-site's main page is still showing HoMM5's Original version's picture. At the very bottom of the page, still in 2007's status of legal operation and registration. I carefully scrutinized every other page of all their major titles and, one of them dates Fall of 2005 + another dating Summer of 2007.

I guess that, there will be only one way to find out about a possible future development of an HoMM6. And, that will be through the French Gate of Ubisoft. A.k.a. Fabrice Cambounet. Let's cross our fingers onto that one.

Wait, Settlers 6?

Strange, since I already played 6 settlers games.... this one should be seventh then....

In any case, making one game has absolutely nothing to do with canceling other, UBI publishes dozens of games every year, and different teams work on each(mostly) one.
