Hello Again,

I've tried everything, and i Still Can't Ubgrade my ToTe form 3.0 to 3.1
Well It suits me fine, because ghost are better But All in all i cant find the reason of this silly annoucment "Pleace check if the game is instaled" I've used links from this forum, autoubdater and nothing works,
Is there a chance that i have SP2 and this would be the cause??

Do you have the right patch for your language? The game comes in different languages, and you need to have the patch that applies to the one you're using.

Yes, i have the Polish/Hungarian Path (Who on earth combined PL and H omg wtf) And the Game is in Polish/Hungarian language versions. I can download it and select the language and when instalshield pops out suddenly an error comes out saying that i dont have ToTe instaled

Hey dargor you should contact the Polish distrbutor and ask for help. They should have an working patch... When i bought Heroes I-III gold Edition i need to go their page in order to make the games working.

You can't be the only one with this problem..... and there should be an solution somewhere.....

Who is an Polish distrubtor of the game

I just bought the Gold Edition Homm5.  What patch(es) do I need to use? Is ToE 3.1 all I need?

What is included in Gold Edition
Heroes of Might and Magic V
+ Hammers of Fait + Tribes of the East

Check all the H5_game.exe(move your mouse pointer to that files ) there should open samll window in a momment there should be version of the file.

So this file should have 1.6
this file should have 2.1
and this file should have 3.1

If not you need to patch the game or one of its add ons... to target file version(For example if you have H5 version 1.4 you need 1.5 and 1.6 patch)

After all that i have wroten install gameshadow if you have an english version of the game it will find and check if your game needs update

I hope this will help

I'm still waiting for the game to arrive (impatiently!).  Gold edition has homm5 and the two expansions HoF and ToE.  From what you're saying, I'll need to patch each one seperately.

If it is Gold Edition then it is probably fully patched already. You bought an English version right

If it's not patched then yes, you have to patch each of them separately. TotE is even stand-alone, which means that it is independent of your other H5 games. In other words, it works exactly as a totally different game, different installation folder, different patching, etc.

Thank you  all !!! I've finally managed to patch my homm Form my Polish Distrybutors site Ive dled a patch 3.01 and I've updasted my HommV, now on the start Menu there clearly states 3.1

But the changelog is much shorter than the one in the begining of this thread, is there another patch? or what?

hmmm, is there any other way to apply the patch other than reinstalling it?

i have HOMMV ToTE installed on my computer with my previous WinXP

but virus attacks then i have to reinstall the windows

I still can play HOMMV but i cant update it

I lost my DVD T_T....

No you need to install the game sorry, not just copy paste its installed files. Otherwise you will not be able to update it.

hmmm, i think im gonna try to extract the patch files and then replace them manually

of course i'm gonna back up the original one first if something not right.

I have installed the 3.1 patch as well. I have also installed 1.6, but I ran into a problem. Cheating in the game was disabled. I went back several times to check that the cheat was enabled, but it wouldn't respond in the game. Please, if you know how to fix it, I could really use it.   :]

Map Editor:

- crash fixed when trying to make screenshot if AI-Geometry mode is active.

- fixed any heroes can have Barbarian's abilities


Scripts:

- fixed scripted AI was unable to find path to target through heroes' threat area

- fixed IsHeroInTown script command

- fixed MessageBox function callback to be called even after message box was
closed automaticlly on timeout or turn switch

- now CaptureTrigger object field works for monsters banks buildings, game will
try to call given script function when bank captured

- fixed growth bonuses was not taken away after dwelling was destroyed from script

- fixed removing of last creature from stack when there are still more stacks
available in monsters army

- added additional parameters to several script functions

Undocumented changes:

Zealot: 2 more shots added (overall 7)

Horned Leaper: +1 defence, -1 initiative, double damage on retaliation after leaping(200%).

Neutrals now move randomly about when their enemies turn invisible.

Death wail does double damage.

Ghost dragons' sorrow Strike casts Sorrow on Expert level(was basic).

Rot zombies' weakening aura decreases attack of surrounding creatures by 3(was 2).

Axe thrower's wound ability decreases now initiative by 20% and speed by 40% ( was 30 and 50)

Manticore's poison lasts for 10 turns (was 3)

Bloodrage now absorbs less damage overall but the same value of rp taken now allows you to save more health.

Stormwind decreases flying units' ini by 20% and speed by 2. Was 10% and -1 respectively.

Fog veil decreases ranged damage by 25% from initial 10%.

Warpath bonus nerfed from 350 to 250 movement points.

Water elementals nerfed. Where 5 of them did 144 dmg with icebolt now they do 43.

Flaming Arrows now ignore the 50% of the defense

Divine Vengeance nerf:

Nymus loses a lot of creatures (-2 tiers 6, -6 tiers 5, -10 tiers 3 and -10 tiers 1).

Necropolis:
Orson: 2 stacks of 50 zombies instead of 1 of 100; loses 10 skeletons, 2 Wraiths, 1 Lich Master and gains 1 poltergeist; loses chilling bones and Protection, gains evasion and last stand.
Raven: loses Intelligence and Learning, gains basic Attack, cold steel and the Runic War Harness.
Deidre: no change (but Storm wind is now incredible)

Fortress:
Karli: loses the Rune of resurection and a lot of spells and creatures (-1 tier 6, -3 tiers 5, -1 tier 3, -15 tiers 2).

Stronghold:
no change

Sylve:
Ossir: gains 9 Master hunters, 7 Arcane archers and his 31 High druids are replaced by 33 Druide elders.

Sounds like the patch installer recognized your game as a spanish installation for some reason (the patch is the right one, TotE EU comes with several languages to install). I'd suggest uninstalling and trying again.

All the patch did is to make the AI extremely cowardly on higher difficulties, fleeing any battle it can't win (especially in quick combat).
Everything else you see was part of the AI to begin with.
