Indeed sometimes I hate the random generator... In that Dungeon match with sq, I got Defense in time, all prerequisites for Last Stand, but it refused to pop up -> I had to use the Mentor seven times, just for that. 
And it's quite funny that my Orcs crushed Sylvan two times (ok, the second one was a mistake without Treants), and now they got crushed in the same match setup...

They probably should  Yes I really hate mentor, for some strange reason even when the chance to get something is 50% it just refuses to show up unless you have spent 10k.. It's a conspiracy I tell you and the mentor is getting part of the share

Yes indeed  (I got Enlightenment as my first skill last time )
But did it really make such a huge difference? I guess you didn't take Retribution + Aura of Swiftness, hmm? That's also a pretty 'overpowered' build. Retribution is simply imba when having 5 Morale (from Expert Leadership you have it, anyway), since it gives you +25% more damage. That's more than Archery which affects only ranged attacks! (and a lot more than Cold Steel & Fiery Wrath) Not to mention expert leadership is a pretty good skill as well. Same applies to luck.
But I don't think that would have changed the game though, dunno what happened.

Today I had my share of silly mistakes for a whole year. I can't stop kicking myself for losing the match against mamga.
I hope he has the replays. Watch them and see what I mean. I shouldn't play so relaxed.

It's not just that the skill refuses to show up after mentoring 4 times. If I lack 1 important skill and the others are good (which means I'm willing to erase only 1 skill) I get the same choices 3-4 times in a row What kind of a lame mentor is that?
hey grandpa, I'm pretty sure I don't need Elemental Balance and Fire Resistance vs Orcs dammit!

Not much to comment on the first game, no visiting the well can make all the difference though there were mistakes from both parts. Mamga also forgot to use training.
The second game was a lot more interesting but even if zamfir won I'd ask for a rematch. I have posted the rules in the masterpost as well as the loading screen, paladins cannot be over 25. That honours mamga, victory even against uneven odds  Maybe haven should not have ignored the phoenix.

Even though you won, it's not a good idea to put your units in the front line with Tactics against Sylvan. Many of the Sylvan creatures have speed 7.
Also, what's with so many Paladins? I thought the limit was 25 (I know you lost anyway, I'm just commenting)

@Elvin: I tought pallies CAN'T reach 25 (the map simply doesn't permit it). When I managed to train all the priest I said: "Wow, this is a bug. Lucky me".

its premptive countering
IE: in order to counter rock use scissors because using paper would be the obvious choice so they will use scissors. and when they use scissors you have a mental advantage.
