asheera: i was even ready to quit and give you the win in this fight! when i saw that you regularly attacked instead of casting spell i said "whaaaat???" hehe and i saw no mana. so it is true. if dungeon losses the dragons and mana it is easy. but only with an enemy that can revive things.

elvin: you owe me the win! you put the bug in there!!

That's one of the reasons I don't quit, some unexpected things may happen

And btw, I think that at some point I could cast Empowered Armageddon and win (when you had like 3-4 stacks left), but I wasn't sure if it really would kill all your stacks, and I didn't want to risk

yes but i am not sure that in duels winning with Armageddon when it kills all the army of both players is nice

yes they would, in my opinion they are a 99% defensive  creature. asheera i still have the same question. why dont you play in toh? you spend enough time in duels, forums etc. you obviously like the game, and you know how to play.

I spend a lot of time in forums, true, but mostly in off-topic discussions (not related to Heroes)

And yes, I like the game, but not that much as to play in ToH. I mean, some short duels are ok from time to time, but I wouldn't like (or have the time) to play many "real" games.

Initially I believed that that it was because both were frenzied, in a replay I've seen a frenzied unit unable to damage an ally that has been puppeted and hypothesized it was something similar. Apparently not.


I would have expected the hydra to hit everything around it when frenzied and retaliating. It doesn't make sense it wouldn't retaliate to the raiders.  That's a bug in my mind.

hydras have 6-headed attack which means they can hit 6 from the 12 adjacent tiles. so if THEY attacked it might have been logical. but is it possible not to hit the creature that hit them? the retaliation should start from the creature that hit you in my opinion

in a normal game the hero that casts the last spell is available in the tavern for hiring, on the other hand the other hero is dead. in duels i think the hero that cast the last spell is the winner. i am not sure and i dont agree!

In this case consider the game a draw. Initially I thought it would be better to give the win since armageddon has limited use, however if you allow it then the warlock will only need to kill half your army then then finish it with an empowered armageddon. Seems like an easy way out.

However the tournament is not just about me, if you have a different opinion let me know. There are a few issues that I'd rather not be decisive about.

Something else so you are prepared. My current plans are to have a series of tournaments every 1 or 2 months. After a number of tournaments the finalists from previous rounds will duke it out in an epic clash Of course that will depend on activity let's see how things go with this one first.

Those who already haven't should start playing Will update the masterpost with the result a little later.

I think the game is made so that a unit can hit one side or the other in a single attack, but not both.

WHen the hydra was frenzied, it got hit by dungeon but if it retaliated it would hit dungeon and academy units.  The default hit went against academy, even though a dungeon unit hit it.

The code should be logically that the hydra when frenzied is too angry to care what/who it hits, and a retaliation should hit any unit in its radius of attack, regardless of which "side" its on.

Just retaliating against the Titans and not the unit that attacked it to begin with was a flaw/bug that needs remedying, in my opinion!

btw (something else, not about this tournament) how about some "team work" with more than 2 players active in a duel? Or is it a silly idea? (hmm now that I think of it, it will be pretty hard for all players to be "active" at the same time - because I see we have some small "problems" even with two)

Hero A fights Hero B and Hero C fights Hero D. The winners fight with their remaining armies and we have a winning team (in this case A is allied with C and B with D). Well, the final battle won't be fun if there's gonna be a "slaughter" in one of the battles though

LOL I get the idea but it's kinda unrealistic to have a 4 people game, both because it takes more time after sim turns break and because it's harder for those to be online at the same time. Also there's the matter of skill picking that gets complicated and the fact that some can preserve army by raising while others cannot.

It's not that much work, actually no work at all, except organizing of course. You don't really have to be "allied", just don't attack your "friend"

But I agree it's not such a good idea...
