I just lost vs Radar 2-1.
I don't know how that should happen by then, if I get out of the tournament or not, but anyway I give it up because of the imbalance issues. Academy is too strong on the map.
You give 3 weeks recruitment, but you allow Academy to go for lvl 3 artefacts because you give ressources for Magic shop, but I thought they already had a building that gave them 5 more spells.
I didn't try to play other matchup but the three we played, but Aca part should be corrected.

I had 3 duels with Typhys.
1) First I fought against his Fortress with my Sylvan. You can find the replay here:

That's a battle I won.
Radar - Typhys 1:0
2) My Naadir clashed with his Kythra. A very close battle, the winning side changed with nearly every turn  Typhys took his revenge and won with ~4 Black Dragons, 2 Shadow Matriarchs and 9 Hydras. I have no replay for that one.
Radar - Typhys 1:1
3) In the final match he took Sylvan and me - Academy. Surprisingly, he resigned from further actions - I had spammed some hives

I have to agree with Typhys, Academy is too strong with level 3 artifacts on ALL creatures IMO. The creatures become very powerful (even stronger than Haven's I think...), not to mention Consume Artifact which heals 840 HP and only wastes 25% of hero's turn! That's 3360 HP per turn

This doesn't help me much. If you play vs dwarves, orcs, dungeon or necro the balance is fine. Sylvan already has an edge and so will haven if you take away their arties. Will see the replay to understand better but if you feel there is a problem then show me. I don't know your actual skill in heroes or the builds involved.

Ok..know this is not exactly the place, but hoping somebody can help. Got a new laptop with wireless data card...(Considered dialup, even if it is superfast downloads). When I connect to hamachi it disconnects me from the data card. Any way arround that?

Academy got trounced in all the replays I've seen on here (if not trounced, they lost). Too strong!? What? Post some replays of them being unstoppable or winning heartily! I was looking for that but haven't found yet...

Well I didn't save the replay but my battle with Vangelis was pretty much like that -> Academy unstoppable... I know, he also got extremely bad choices at level up so I don't know if it counts...

Regardless it's not an academy thing. Certain matchups have issues, for instance I see that sylvan is more likely to win haven. Sylvan can be nerfed of course by giving less favoured enemies, academy by removing the pendant and re-checking the resource balance etc.
Another thought that has crossed my mind is remove the really powerful artifacts from the merchants so that none can abuse it he gets lucky.

no faction is good if played badly and no faction is bad if played correctly. in my opinion after 200 almost online games in toh is that academy is the mopst complete faction. just think a hero with dark magic, light magic, enlight, sorcery and 1 more of your choice. mini artifacts that give you 20% initiative, 70% magic protection and bonuses in speed, defence, attack or luck. plus the titans that cant be puppeted or frenzied, or blinded, plus the gremlins saboteurs that make any enemy war machine useless. if you can find a disadvantage towards another faction, please do. the only thing is that academy is maybe the most complicated faction and it is very difficult to get everything you want or to have perfect games.

how about 2-3 merchants for everyone to have chances for more artifacts? we will not be bale to buy a lot due to money but we will be able to choose among trice as before the artifacts

You should probably switch over Sylvan's units to the blue-looking upgrades. Pretty much all of that upgrade alt is used anyway, and having to switch over everything leaves a lot less money left for mentoring.
btw, I'm new to the HC. What channel and password do you guys use on Hamachi to play these games? It seems most English speaking people don't use Ubi.com.

elvin 2-3 merchants stops the element of randomness. dont you think? more chances to have good artifacts or to encounter the good artifacts the opponent may have . actually it is just about math 
also YES you should do something about upgrades. it is unfair the upgs to be chosen from the beginning and to spend stupid money. i suggest to turn all the cretures to their no upgrade form and give more money to each player. be careful because giving more money only is not yet fair because one of the two players may have more suitable upgrades therefore save money
one more thing you could do is give all the heroes all the war machines for free. i havent chhecked it in your map but regularly some factions have more expensive war machines than other. but in normal game that comes into balance from other savings (for example academy has relatively cheap war machiones but very expensive tier 7 etc)
ps i suggest all these things to help the map and the community. ask others if they agree and do what the majority needs.

2-3 merchants does not make the game less random, no artifacts does Academy and dungeon are exceptions because it's part of their balance. However your wish is noted, depends on what the others think about it.
Leaving units unupgraded is a terrible idea. It's boring to have to pick the upgrade for each unit when you can simply retrain it. And even after retraining, money is still more than enough to use mentor, you didn't think I'd leave you 20k for mentor did you? The point is to use it a few times only.
I originally had all warmachines for free but suppose you get blind or a unit's special incapacitates a unit. To have the ballista randomly hit it and wasting your previous action. Besides why should there be no cost for warmachines? And academy only has cheap ammo cart, perhaps you remember a town that had a special in another warmachine and produced it cheaper.

I agree with Vangelis for the gold, you need only PvP skills and the random skill system is not perfect. If I need only 2 perks and expert skill, and expert and 2 perk for other, it's very very very hard to get third skill on expert and 3 perks.
