NCF Ideas

The discussion about a few creatures had come up when I was working on my H3 to HV mod... before it hit a dead end, but it seems some what was "impossible" then is now possible.

Can someone attach the head of the imp to the beard of a dwarf and make a beholder? and/or can we scale the size of the demon, give it hair and call it a behemoth?

I still think these guys deserve honorable mention somewhere:

I believe that the idea of scaling up the demon is still impossible (or rather, it could be done if behemoths could teleport, because it's the movement animation that's the difficult one - or maybe there's some other solution). Actually, now I think about it, maybe there's a way of doing it. You could try fixing the demon effect to the root bone of whatever creature you are using. Worth a try certainly, if someone wants to give it a go. Off the top of my head, I reckon you'd need to scale up the animation jump factor by the same amount as you scale the demon. Hmm, I'm starting to have second thoughts...

About the hair, it is pretty possible, but the effectivity depend on the hair's texture. Anyway it's wont be cool behemoth...

What would you want to edit the models for? I'm afraid it's still pretty much impossible. Or do you mean adding effects and such?

Why would I want to edit the models? hmm... Gnolls, Medusas, Harpies, EvilEye/Beholders... shall I continue?

All that ^^^ is beside the point, my original point was that when I was working on my H3/H5 mod, we thought it was impossible to make a naga by splicing the fire element with the rhaksasha.  But hey! Now we can, and it's been done, (no credit for the idea to myself *shrugs* BUT, another idea that had come from the H3/H5 mod of mine was the beholder, made from the beard of a thane, and the head of an imp (both retextured of course). So if we can make nagas, can we make beholders?

Medusa, Naga and Evil Eye already exist... even though they're kind suboptimal

It would be great to import for example a set of D&D creatures from another game Even though the creativity of NCF makers is great, most of them look too similar to original creatures.

The Gnoll also exists It's not NCF'ized yet, but that's a matter of time.

Well, I've had some ideas for a beholder, so I'll contact those guys when a make at least a draft.

BTW, an overkill - a pegasi

the pegasi is quite old, no?
I remember I saw 2 of them, probably more than one year ago.
the 1st one had griffin wings, the 2nd one was the one you just showed.
I also remember some guys said it didn't look like a pegasi but like a unicorn affected by the fly spell, or something like that.

btw, 666 cerberus. that is overkill.

The one I've just shown is mine, I don't remember exactly when I did it, but the picture refers to january 13 2008. Well, that's almost a year ago I posted it on Nival's forums and it was an another yeti replacer. That's cuz I didn't know a thing 'bout NCF at that time and hoped that yeti appears on random maps. D'oh, I screwed that one, but the model was done.

So mine actually does so. It uses a "move" animation to move, so because of pegasi is a flyer... he floats in the air moving But that's easily changeable. You suggest an idle animation with flapping wings would fit him better?

One important thing to mention. Currently I'm working with those NCF's alongside with Psatkha. So I need to ask him bout his creature slots I can use for my creatures. Then I hope to present you all of what I've done.

And a bit more for the topic, considering some old creatures coming back. We (me and Psatkha) are also working on the Wolf Rider But nothing of this one I can show, still Work In Progress.
