Bliz reminded me the good old times when duel map had less army and caught in a spell of nostalgia I decided to give it one more shot. Knowing the current balance I should have a good chance to fix its old issues and make it work

- Back to week 5 army strength, lvl remains 21.

- Artifacts are free, following albolabris' suggestion. Three areas each having 1 relic, 2 major and 4 minor artifacts and you can visit only one.

- No artifact bans.

- Post-recruitment gold is 17k, more than enough to use the mentor, hire another hero and buy warmachines.

- Training paladin cap at 18.

Have not worked yet on the balance so I'll need some testing help. Hoping to use this in the next duel round so here's your chance to improve the map you will play on

Sounds fun, but personally I would love to see an "extreme" version of the map. Same everything, but 50% more army and level 35 instead of 21. Would probably hurt the balance, but I just love huge battles with loads of troops and fully developed heroes.

@Elvin lord: is this some way of making warmachines more palatable &
perhaps also avoiding the predictability of some matchups which I suppose some veterans/elites may know
ofc, as players get better, balance between factions changes so maybe what seemed unbalanced before may not be so now

Primus is ever insightful Managting to pull of a truly epic duel map should be tough, maybe I'll try in the future.

Here's an update, map finally free from bugs and scripted. Only balance is subject to change so any feedback is appreciated.

I keep missing you man.

Update: A few minor things fixed plus a rebalancing of upgrades, sole reason was to put some alternatives back in the game. And of course fix a couple of broken ones.

Chaos Version 0.92


INFERNO:
- Teleport other reach increased by 1 tile. Archdemons can teleport from 6 tiles yet have speed 5 as before.

NECRO:
- Banshee wail gains another tile radius and it's dmg is increased by 50%. Should be just fine now.
- Torpor factor decreased to 2.5. Was 3.
- Dragons' sorrow applied at advanced level than expert.

ACADEMY:
- Call storm effectiveness doubled, deals 20 dmg and reduces ranged dmg by 2% per titan. Now storm titans won't be just shiny.

DUNGEON:
- Wheeling attack deals 40% of the unit's base dmg. Was 25%.

FORTRESS:
- Whitebears chance to scare small units decreased, chance used to be over 50% regardless of stack.
- Liquid flame breath doubled, deals 20 dmg.

STRONGHOLD:
- Assault factor increased to 1.5. Maulers are now an acceptable option.
- Venom dmg at 10 instead of 5.

SYLVAN:
- Agility adds 1 defense per tile instead of 2.
- Arcane archers defense reduction 20% from 50%. You knew this was coming.
- Warding arrow factor increased to 1.5. Master hunters now have something to offer.
- Child of light now reproduces the light spells at advanced mastery.

And most importantly:
Imbue arrow drops hero atb by 25% - same like in previous games. It is a mystery to me why Nival would make it instant *exactly* when high druids came into the game. It's as if they had a contest of imbalance and that was the winning idea. At least this time you can't use rain of arrows AND use imbue ballista, hero imbues, ballista acts, hero turn is reset As it should be.

Had a couple of nice games with blizzard, feels good when each wins one

Lethos v ShakKarukat
This was lucky I got lethos in tav & couldn't get defence skill but got both orc artis & was first time I tried PM as first hero action...luckily it was on the right creature & got some other good mass spells too [added bonus was boots of magic res due to extra gold from not using mentor]...was surprised by the outcome

Hangvul v not so mighty Razzak
No surprise here, some matchups I have yet to learn to play but dunno what I shoulda done differently even if stats were better

First was my Marbas vs his Nathir.
It felt like having Magic Immunity on all my units the entire game.
Fireball on 4 units around Elemental gargs? 5x resisted(Horned grunts twice ), gargs die. Repeat. Again? Oh come on, 6/9 resists on Mass Slow??
Force Pull on Titans to draw them from that nasty corner and it's game over.
After this game I decided to demand my own artifact and an unlockable until in the next game I saw "Veco's Bathrobe". Awesome!

bug note
second player Fortress can't enter the spellshop

edit:
btw, Seduced Viziers decreased Titans luck while in the action log it says they increase it

He was Marbas and had resistance. Atlest that was what I suspected. I had of course no idea that he would get every other resistance artefact there is (for once I'm not exaggerating) he had a resistance of 66% xD.

I just watched it again
Your hero managed to slow 3 of my units and hit 2 things with a Fireball during the whole battle, namely your gargs and my spawns.
How twisted is that?
That resistance was certainly not 66%, more like 90%

Actually it was 71%.
+26% from Marbas special+20% from SKs armour+10 from the boots+ 15 from luck. Technically that'd be 71% but somewhere someone once explained that resistance isn't accumulative? Not sure still it was impenetrable.
