Probably won't make a huge difference because I doubt Misty is going to calculate every little detail when combat occurs.

Not necessairly.  You could be an enchanted rock and still come out on top.  Hell, you might even win a race.

Guess the reference and win a cookie.

Also, that reference doesn't ring a bell...

@Misty: When can we expect the first update to the RPG?

About weapon finesse my ranger in neverwinter nights 2 used an enchanted light armour two +3 cold short shords and a belt with haste, that was a lot of damage A light armour already gives you a good dexterity bonus that can go to your AC while a full plate inhibits that. Also if lucky you can find shortswords that have both bonus elemental damage. In my case it helped that I got the dual wield bonuses for free but also that I had favoured enemies so it worked like a charm - the only downside was a little less AC than a fighter with good armour. I don't remember if power attack gives +5dmg to both swords.

So how do the palas work? They are warriors who get special abilities through their god.  They can be of any alignment, but have to be the alignment of their god (for obvious reasons).

Do their divine abilities work at all? Or do they backfire? They do work, and have a smaller chance of backfiring then arcane abilities.  They also are less dangerous when backfiring, however, they do have a chance of backfiring.

How about their strenght? Since it's divine given? Is not effected..yet.

So neutral palas are okay? Or do they have to be lawful? Any alignment is possible, but they must be the alignment of their god.

You didn't asnwer my question about how the divine presence is in thios world? Gods that is? They are less active then normal, but so far besides a few that were gods of magic are not affected too bad...yet.

Oscarius - He would be a level 6 'powerful leader of the undead' ie..not so powerful, but I have no problem with it.  Might be interesting.

Joonasto - The animal handling and healing is fine.  Probably serve some wilderness god.  Keep a couple things in mind.  A Paladin MUST serve a god (they are like clerics in that way), and should their god get angry at them, they become normal fighters until they attone or die (whichever comes first).

B-E-T-A.  Your 'stone' gaze has to be activated (not an always on thing), and when you activate it there is a chance of anything happening.  All non-magical armor up to chain allows your dex bonus.  If by some mirical you can find a functioning Elven Plate..it too allows dex (and any magical armor below half plate allows dex also because it is lighter..just remember Magical items have a tendency to be dangerous).  Powergamers do not last long in my games, just a warning.

Winter - I have no clue. Hopefully very soon...once I answer all the million questions

I thought it was just the people that got the short end of the stick, for divine powers to have a chance to misfire something bigger must have happened. Unless it's the fact that there are a lot less followers now and therefore less faith?

Something else. Are there any cities, villages, monuments of notice? What do we know from our lore? Or my character should know as a bard?

There are quite a few, quite a lot.  However, even a bard does not know which are currently still around.  Traveling the desert is becoming harder and harder, and less and less news is circulating.

Everybody knows about the Arena.  The name of the city that surrounds it has changed a few times, but currently it is known as Darrow.  Scarsdale is widely known, next to the 'Scar' and the now visible Ruins of a once magnificent city in the scar..who's name has been lost in the sands of time.  Frosthold is to the north, or was...with the desert stretching forward there..and it being made of Ice..it may be gone at any time.

There is Revel, a newish port town on the east side of the largest continent.  Several towns that call themself 'Mirage' and are located near different Oasis (plural of this word?).  There is something called the Highlord's Tower..but nobody actually knows where it is.  Rumor has it the island it was on sunk, or a volcano swollowed it, or well there are a million rumors.

The Bazaar, which is smack dab in the middle of the desert of the largest continent (only been around for about 2 years).  It is growing larger every day.  (Has one of the largest freshwater 'oasis' left).  And hundreds and hundreds of ruins all over.

The great forest - not so great now..and shrinking.  A lot of elven people still find their home here.  They protect it savagely.

Non-confirmed rumors.  Thanehall - Durring the dwarves 'golden' era long long before the sundering..there was rumored to be a central underground city that housed the richest and mightiest of the dwarven people.  Not even Dwarves remember where it was, or if it even exsisted.

The lair of the Moon - Rumor has it that in some cave somewhere there is a cave that lets in moonlight to a freshwater lake.  Unfortunately it is supposed to be 'haunted' or 'cursed'.

The dungeon of Haritos - A once powerful mage who horded magical items..at least till many of them went crazy..rumor has it the dungeon may now be in another demension entirely..if it ever exsisted.

As for towns (besides the listed ones) feel free to make any up.  Just keep in mind that towns are now few and far between.

Hmm, yes indeed, but I still think this way you waste the fighter's specialty: that it starts with all Armor Proficiencies.

Believe me, ash, noone wants to wear heavy armor in the desert. It's weight will slow you down, sand will go places (in your armour) and metal conducts heat, so you'll be even hotter in that suit. So, I think a dexterity based fighter could even exploit it's advantages in here and fighters have more than just armor proficiencies going for them, like high attack, hit points and bonus feats.

Heavy armor limits the amount of AC you get from your dexterity modifier.

There are different levels of armor (3 for Light, 2 for Medium and 3 for Heavy), and the heavier the armor, the less AC you can get from Dexterity modifier. The heaviest armor (Full Plate) doesn't allow you to get AC from your Dex modifier at all, for example.

Only when wearing no armor at all (I mean some cloth, not naked ) you can get AC from Dex modifier with no limit.

But this isn't that important... you're not playing a true D&D game here

Yes, but then why would you waste your skills in Dexterity instead of Strength? That's why I was talking that Dexterity-based Fighters are generally weaker than the Strength-based ones. Unless you use mostly ranged weapons.

Yes, off course, but B-E-T-A uses general light weapons and desert terrain would generally tire and drag down heavy armor wearers. (I know something like that isn't mentioned in D&D, but I thought we were going for a level of realism here)

btw thanks, mytical, for making it an activated ability, it makes me feel better that there's no possibility that my character randomly dies a meaningless death at B-E-T-A's hands
