I still think Rion is the best choice, along with Verdish. I played this map in the past, and the only one who could build the level 7 on second week with no casualties during 14 days was Rion.
Note: First aid ressurect creatures DURING and AFTER the battle. I could take 3 supreme archangels with only 55 pikemans, 30 archers and magic arrow because this tent resurrected all the pikemans every turn.
Not even talking about taking AI towns, where the turrets kill an archangel every turn. Now, if you get Crag Hack and he gets first aid on first week, surely Rion must be avoided. But he does a perfect start, as fights are quite difficult.

Gurni leveled up on learning stone and got logistics
Zubin brought some army, took wood mine and leveled up to advanced wisdom. 2 chests gave 2k and 1k, enough to buy Zubin, but I haven't built anything coz no ore.

Day 1 Week 1
Knowing that he started the quest with almost no resources, Alagar tries to go to the nearest resource generator that will help him develop his town. He goes to the Redwood Observatory and spots a Sawmill guarded by lots of Gnolls.
Alagar goes in the forest to fight with the Gnolls so he can capture the Sawmill.
He captures the Sawmill and notices that it's too dark outside to go back to the town so he camps at the Sawmill with the Centaur and with the Dwarves.
While camping one of the Dwarves sais:
'My lord, on my countings i can say that we can buy the marketplace in your town. Shall i send a message to buy it?'
Alagar answers negative:
'No...i will try to save the resources for something...bigger'.
After that discussion they went to sleep to be fresh for the next day. Ofcourse, Alagas as a druid went deeper into the woods some minutes before he went to sleep just to communicate with the beloved nature.

Day 1
When I loaded the save and looked at my starting resources I was a bit shocked. All those zero's! Is this King-level or something?
Due to lack of resources I decided to go and explore a bit, defeated some Infernal (or Inferior) Troglogdytes, as they were in me path to the Ore Pit, which is now officially mine.

One more question (came up with it when I read Vlaad's comment on his first turn):
Main doesn't start with a Commander?
What does a Commander cost?
Does it need a level 2 mage guild built to be able to buy (like when your commander died)?
Sorry for asking, but on my randoms, I have set it so the Heroes always start with a commander, therefore I don't know those things. (and I am too lazy to read that back..)
And I saw all the Ancients in my second town. Are they mine? Or do I have to fight them?

Depends of what the mapmaker choose as start option: here you start without commander but can recruit one on first day (or later due to lack of gold).
The initial cost is 1000 gold, but when commander advance in levels/experience, it will cost much more to ressurect him. When your commander is dead, entering a town will trigger a choice to ressurect him.

Rion had only 500 gold, not enough to hire a commander (but that wouldn't have been wise anyway in those bad economic times ). He then took only the pikeman from guardhouse and headed with confidence on his tent to fight the fire elementals guarding precious chests. He found a scroll of bless and 900 gold and enough gold in 2 chest to hire 2 other heroes. Sephinroth came out first to scout along the road and take more gold and wood to build a blacksmith. Then Catherine was hired and ready to start claiming mines when appeared the mighty Tazar in the tavern. He is known to have a "hard skin", and fits well with the goal in this week to break through all obstacles in the path to the second town. So Catherine stepped back and let Tazar prove his worth and when he visited the learning stone and learned the first aid skill it was clear he will be the master of fights. He had to train the pikeman for their glorious destiny!

Week 1, Day 2
Transferred all the troops from Pyre to Cahl, who defeated the Pikemen and claimed the Sawmill. Then he returned all the creatures to Pyre - including one Rogue he got thanks to Basic Scouting, the Rogue that will enable Pyre to see the exact numbers of her enemies. She went down the road, defeated some Walking Dead and Stone Golems and flagged the Alchemist Lab. Pyre stayed on the road and should be able to move even farther tomorrow, now with Advanced Logistics.

I wonder what happens when I finish my turn and it's the turn of the computer players. if they attack me or Red player it's ok but if they attack another player? Guess we'll have to beat them quickly or find 2 more human players. Or did I miss something?

If it is OK, that means AI will never attack you, but pick on Manga and his fresh deadly learning skill.

If that happens you just post here saying who is under attack; that player loads the turn, fights the AI, and we pick up where we left off.
