The art style grew on me, even though the zombie looks more cute than intimidating. It also got me a few chuckles here and there. And there's no denying how addictive it is.

Great game. I got stuck on the necro campaign though... My hero didn't gain life back after battles... gonna have to battle npcs with vamps to get life back.

Maybe you have equiped an artifact that reduces your starting hp to 10% but doubles power of creeps?
(best artie in the game imo)

i fixed the problem but i started off with 15 hp out of 67.
But i did have the artie that does that equipped earlier. But i swapped it for the twilight urn for the Wraith Battle.
beat the game.
Here is my rating.
Story 8/10 - its good but the last chapter felt rushed, you didn't run around and explore or anything and talking to npcs was one of the better experiences.
Gameplay - 9/10 Solid, addictive gameplay but for some battles without the right combination of units its nigh impossible unless you get lucky.
(secret units). other than that its fairly well balanced. Some artifacts are superior to others but in all there is not a unit thats impossible to use well.
Presentation - 10/10 - Not messy at all. has a consistent style and atmosphere all around. the music fits it.
All around - 9/10

Yeah, the Academy could've used more length, even having someone provide a few puzzle battles would've been an improvement.

I take back what I said about this game. Although there are still some minor elements that I felt didn't really fit with heroes 5, it got a solid connection and the races traits are largely the same.
Most of all, it's a great combat system and the variety in the campaign with having special objectives in some fights is great.
It's a shame it doesn't have WiFi but that goes for many DS games.
