I liked Batman v Superman. Affleck was brutal. Gadot was hot. Cavill was superman . Eisenberg was more like Riddler than Luthor. It would've worked if they just named him Edward Nygma.

At least someone enjoyed it.

Yea, I'm calling it quits on Marvel for good. Just saw Deadpool and the awkward humor / self satire was the ONLY redeeming quality and personally even that didn't appeal to me for long. I felt every second of the final showdown just hoping it would end sooner, which it somehow did because it was quite short, so there you go, another redeeming quality.

Well Deadpool is technically a Fox film, not tied to Marvel (MCU), although he is a Marvel character.

And sorry you didn't like it Stevie, but what did you honestly expect?

Pacific Rim is such a classy movie ;D It reminds me of Transformers, except it's good.

Deadpool was a descent movie. The thing that redeemed it for me was what I call "The 22 Jump Street" trick. Right from the start it did not sell it self for something it was not. It was a cheesy film with an arrogant anti-hero. Bad humor, lots of blood and a poor script.

Yet I laughed and I laughed way more then I wanted too it felt fresh to me because of the small story and the more violent and over the top humor.. But yeah.. a mediocre film..

Pacific Rim - A classic and might end up being a cult classic in years to come I love it.

So, I've seen Batman v Superman. This movie was... uneven. There were some aspects of it that were fantastic and some that were simply wrong.

Maybe let's start with positives. Acting (with one exception) was great. Warner Brothers were able to put  fantastic ensemble cast that definitely needs to stay in the future films, especially Ben Affleck and Jeremy Irons. Their chemistry is spot-on and can't wait for a solo Batman movie with them. The score was also quite good and the final fight with Doomsday was a blast to watch.

Now the negatives. Oh boy, we have quite a lot of these. Let's start with Jesse Eisenberg's characer. Instead of a cold, calculated businessman we got a neurotic douchebag who would would be a great Riddler and seems to not be the Lex Luthor from the comics but his son instead. The editing was handled very poorly - many scenes ended in a very abrupt manner and lacked a clear endpoint. The film was also paced badly - the first 2/3 was extremely slow and barely anything happened at that time. There were also moments where camera was a bit shaky. Additionally, many plot points were opened, developed, but never finished. There were other aspects of the storyline that were...bad, like the reason for emergence and termination of the titular fight between Batman and Superman. Other aspects are spoiler-heavy, so I won't delve into them. Also, introduction of the Justice League was handled very poorly.

The last aspect of this flick that I want to discuss is Gal Gadot's character, which is Wonder Woman. Her role in BvS was to look pretty. She could have been entirely cut and it wouldn't affect the story at all. Gadot's performance could have also been improved. She delivered most of her lines in a good way and her acting during the Doomsday battle wa really fun but some of the lines were just pure wood. She needs to work with some more talented director (like the one who will do solo "Wonder Woman" movie) and Wonder Woman will get a proper onscreen representation.

Do I recommend this movie? Yes, but only if you watch it on some VoD platform in a few months, because otherwise you would be disappointed.

Watching Gypsy Danger use the cargo ship as a baseball bat is easily one of my favorite movie moments.  I place it right up there with this scene from Kung Fu Hustle, this scene from Shaolin Soccer, and this even more insane scene from Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons.

I already had decided to not go and watch BvS on the cinemas - reviews and word-of-mouth agreeing so much can't be without a reason...at least to some degree
I suppose it'll still fill a Saturday evening, but I'm not going to waste my money on something that doesn't have an appeal for me to begin with...

I have no idea.  He Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons and some Mermaid movie after which is supposed to be hilarious.

He also made one in the 90s called the God of Cookery which is great.  It's so over-the-top with 90s cgi to boot.

Just saw this Ghostbusters 2016 trailer, and I couldn't help but notice how it has almost 500.000 dislikes compared to the 200.000 likes, most of the comments blaming overblown feminism with the all female cast. Just how great is that? The movie's bound to be rubbish anyway by the looks of it and with the massively unfavorable opinion, what's keeping Sony away from canceling the whole thing?

YouTube comments section for a movie trailer. That sure isn't going to be loaded with young adult angry males with latent derogatory attitudes towards women or anything.

Ghostbusters will be a financially successful movie.

I doubt they will cancel a Ghostbuster 2 just because it is "possibly" going to be crap.

Personally, I think the Ghostbusters license should have been left alone after the first movie. Like the Indiana Jones license, of which, I here a new thrill ride is in the works!

Edit: I also don't know why you think a bunch of whiny youtube infants is a "massive" unfavorable opinion.

Oh come on now. So then there's no valid display of opposition towards feminist intoxication, misunderstood / overblown political correctness or whatever you wanna call it, because it's "the internet" and an overwhelming population of 500.000 people all happen to be trolls.

500,000 is not close to a full population sample and not reason to cancel a movie, combined with youtubes commenters average brilliance, it is something I doubt they will consider. Plus there were 200,000 likes and not to mention that many dislikes were caused by the fact the movie does not look that great all things considered rather than the female only cast.
