Oh they used a lot of guns in Buffy.
And Buffy herself used a rocket launcher.
You can't get any better than that.

Yeah, I remember the rocket launcher, that was great. But the only people who ever think to use guns against the main characters are Darla and Warren, as far as I recall.
You'd think that, at some point, one side or the other would have realized either "hey, she's a human, we can just shoot her" or "bullets may not kill vampires, but they will still hurt them like hell".
Just imagine if Xander and Willow were packing heat, half of the kidnapping schemes would be completely foiled.

There was the hunt episode where Buffy and Faith were took to the manhunt as game too.
And she isn't human so who knows how mumch of it she can take.
The soldiers used the tazer kind of guns in the season 4. Those seemed to work ok.
There were grenades and explosives involved more than once.
Why they mostly use crossbows against vamps makes good sense though
There was that time Angelus got a few good ones from a shotgun. Actually, Angel's been shot more than once and the effect is pretty minor all in all. Just makes them angry.

True, they do seem to feel bullets pretty hard though, at least temporarily.
Anyways, we should probably stop spoiling the series for anyone who might be interested. Always good to find another fan!

Pff, I am still here. I know pretty much every buffy episode by heart! Not every Angel episode though (yet!).
I'm a die-hard buffy-fan! And it kills me they're making a movie without the old actors and even without Joss Whedon.. (or so I've heard)

they had guns too when they were fighting the mayor tranformed as a huge demonic serpent, at least, I remember flamethrowers.
I think adam was using a gatling gun in the final fight, when willow uses a spell to make buffy indestructible.
the andy and warren crew used guns too, I remember a freezing gun and a gun to slow time.
in one of the 1st seasons I think andy also used a sniper

True about the major, but flamethrowers only.
But andy wasn't aiming it at buffy in that episode at the tower.

Adam used gatling gun and rocket launcher. But yeah, a gun could kill a slayer pretty easy it seems, as Warren would have killed her if not for Willow.
In the tower (episode Earshot) Jonathan (as the guy was called) used a rifle but was originally just gonna shoot himself and not Buffy or a bunch of people.
In the Homecoming episode she (and Cordy, heh) faced two guys heavily armed with machine guns.
She got zapped by the tazer-gun-thingies the Initiative-guys used too, but managed to run away.
Gotta love it when Buffy uses a rocket launcher in Innocense

The judge waiting, looking at her "What is that?"

Buffy just won't be the same without SMG or Alyson Hannigan. Very bad idea to make another movie, in my opinion.
And yeah, the rocket launcher was absolutely priceless. Soldier-Xander was also just great.
Methinks we need a dedicated Buffy thread?

I have read the comics and yes I am very aware that they changed a lot of subplots around, altered some of the main story and changed the ending. It's still good though. Michael Cera plays Scott Pilgrim's part very well hitting the confused nature of his situation perfectly.
Some of the comedy is dumb but it all fits great. One of the things I like about how it was written is when they use a dumb one liner they sort of break away for a moment to acknowledge that yes, they just said something kinda stupid making it all the more funny.
That's not to say there weren't a few annoyances with it. From the comic to the movie they really downplayed Ramona's character making her more of a bystander to the whole thing then an actual main character. In the comic she has a magic inter-dimensional bag that she uses on multiple. In the movie they sort of reference it once but if you've never read the comic then you'd most likely pass it off as whatever or not even notice it.
The music was pretty good. Some of the songs were just goofy (those by Crash and the Boys especially) and some I would actually consider downloading to listen to later.
So if you havenb't seen this movie yet then I highly recommend renting it, downloading it, stealing it, or whatever. Good movie.
I give it an easy 9/10

Just watched The Ringer with Johnny Knoxville.
Man there were so many times when it could've gone completely wrong with cheap shots against retards and stuff, but this movie actually pulled it off pretty well.
Pretty heavy cliches there and there, but overall it was quite enjoyable. Local newspaper gave it a pretty bad review but I liked it.

Well, they do tend to make up the vast majority of Knoxville fans.
