The "how to" and "what is" thread
Alright, I have decided to implement knowledge I have discovered about the net in a thread here for a few reasons. If you feel you can input interesting things feel free.

I am actually concerned with this because if I like it, after beta is finished I might be left forced to pay like 500 dollars or something to keep it installed. They encourage backing up files. With vista, back up is not necessary but it still recommended. March 10th 2010 your computer will shut down each time you are on it for 2 hours. They give you a 2 week notice before hand, and explain at the above link what will happen, and when. Install at your own educated risk.
This how to information led me to finding an informative video describing how I can boot two operating systems and when the time comes -say march 2010- I can uninstall the secondary OS like it is a basic program.

You can download or have it sent to you. Many would consider it veg propaganda, and, it could be, however the information is very fruitful explaining how to survive a veggie diet -which, is actually very possible and easy

This is actually very helpful for someone who needs sounds for any purpose. I personally have started using the freesoundproject primarily because I want to record some mixes, or, whatever they are called. I dont know Midi, dont have a keyboard or anything however I do have reaper, which is a free -basically- sound editing program. It is technically not shareware, but I have had it almost a year on my pc and the worst thing that happens because I didn't pay for it is I have to click "close" once or twice when I open the program.

I have version 2.031 which is pretty far down this list but it is certainly adequate for many purposes. I dont know about how it is now but the person who told me about reaper said it was 100% free. When I saw something about trial licenses I was upset, and downloaded anyways, yet, it's seemingly free so.. there you go.
How to escape from a water submerging/submerged vehicle
Because I dont want you to die drowning in a car, allow me to explain what professionals have in mind when their car is submerging.
If the key is in the ignition, the electrical system will be operative in most cases well long enough before complete submergence for those with electrical windows to be rolled down. If it comes to it, and you have to use either your body or an object to break the glass, go for the windows, not the windshield. The windshield is much stronger than the regular ones. Additionally, if it comes to the point where the water is close to your chin... Dont panic. This is actually the easiest way to get out of a submerged car -next to rolling down the window-. Take a deep breath and peruse trying to open the door. Once the car is nearly filled with water pressurization or something, takes place or whatever, maybe it stops happening.. In any case the door will open easily once the water fills the car.

Regarding the Windows issue, if you paid for Vista... I can understand why you have been mugged by MS advertising. There are always simple ways around this with a simple Googling. Those special patches, if you know what I'm talking about

This is vital info to have to protect yourself from criminals, especially cyber criminals and identity thieves. This site includes articles of what has happened, links to sites which will hook up cell phones with advanced spyware, back round reports.. I personally am going to thoroughly go through this site to learn ways I can protect myself.
edit they give a lot of info there but I ran into a vid that recommended, someone else, who recommended someone else, that recommended a certain type of spyware remover which is not good.. So, this site is good for the info but apparently the guy is not 100%

OK I want to say the reasons for this thread include a data base where I can check back on things, but if no one cares I will stop, no prob..

It say's preview but it is 100% free. Make still or animated cursors with ease in this program. You can draw them out on a 32/32 pixe palet in this program, or another one, then import the 32/32 cursor art, yadda yadda... Save as .cur, or animated. Select frames, etc..
Ok does anyone want me to continue this? If not I will simply use my word program to collect info.

I refuse and beg beg BEG for no QP for this thread or any concept about it. I only say this because I feel it is neglected because people think I am QP hunting.
There are a multitude of reasons I posted this thread.
If things like
How to get Windows 7 Release Candidate
How to get a free vegetarian starter kit
How to get free sounds (for a multitude of purposes.. loops samples etc)
How to get reaper (this is like.. an audio/music creator or something)
How to escape from a water submerging/submerged vehicle (just rying to help  )
how to do a lot of things to attack others or protect yourself (insofar as identity goes)
how to make your own cursors. (with animation possibility)
How to make a metal detector with an am/fm (or just AM) radio and a basic calculator.. wow
and other things that we could collaborate in the future do not interest you in the slightest..then say nothing please

Will let you download in different formats. Most downloaders, we have to install and only download in a format that we need a converter for. Sometimes, this process does not work.
I have found with farkie.com I can download in different formats, and it's working 100% so far.
