QUICK...I need some ideas!
Ok, here's the deal. My girlfriend finally got a job which is great but now we hardly see each other. We had planned a camping trip last week for tomorrow and every day I've been picking up the odds and ends needed for the trip, making calls to find out information about different campgrounds, check in/check out times, rules, so on and so forth. I turn on the news today and there's a 50% chance of rain tomorrow and a 65% chance of rain on Thursday. The one day...THE ONE FREAKIN DAY I had something planned and mother nature has to ruin it.
She suggested we sleep in my car. Yeah right, I can see that happening. For one it's way too small and cramped and two, where would we park my car anyway?
So I need some help here. Some ideas. It's 9:30 at night and I have no idea what we should do tomorrow.
I can spend maybe $50 at the most. I'm a little broke right now. I was thinking of a bed and breakfast but the cheapest is $100 a night with a requirement of two night stay.

uh, stay tuned for more ideas but renting moving trucks is a pretty cool place to sleep in.

With such short notice the UHaul rental might be the way to go. It would be a 'just in case' messure (in case it rains), however, and might be a waste of money if it does not. Given more time I could make some suggestions.
If you have a deck or patio at home, you might want to consider a 'at home getaway'. Grab an inflatable mattress, a sleeping bag, and a picnic basket (filled with goodies) and set up everything in your back yard. Resist the temptation to go in and watch tv, etc  . Then even if it rains you have a relitively dry area (might want to get some bug repelant too) to snuggle and watch it rain.
As suggested a tent might be a option, but make sure to get a good one as cheap ones can leak.

Ok this might sound like a really stupid idea but why don't you "camp out" at home? I bet you could do something really cool - even romantic - with the idea if you use your imagination.

Well I think her car suggestion sounds like a good start for 2 reasons:
1) She suggested it, so you know she won't complain about it too much.
2) Drive to a decently remote area with a bunch of blankets and sleep under the stars next to the car. It's warm enough, and it would be almost free if not for the gas money. (I wouldn't camp in open sight of a highway though just for safety sake)

well if you'd tell us where you will be it might be a little easier to find a cheap hotel/motel close by, someone might have been there and know cheap ones.
