Why the Worry?
3DO and NWC have made 3 great games so far. Why are you guys so worried about this one? I mean you guys are freakin' out about eveything. Ex: Graphics, Gameplay, and the overall look. Just relax... everything will be fine.

I agree.
Only ever played the Heroes I demo however, heh, you got like three weeks game time to play.
Bought Heroes II & III, both were good investments.
Heroes IV will be the same, I am sure of it.

I'm not very worried right now. I was mostly worried when we were still getting information on huge, major changes to the game. I completely freaked out when I heard about no upgrades and only 4 creature levels. Now I'm fine. The only thing people really freak out about now is the creature looks. Vlad hates the Vampires.

I'm stil worried...
the game looks good so far but there are a few details (propably to be changed till the release) that we have to worry about... be it gameplay or graphics (sound is already known to be good) some things need changing...
btw: I hate the new Elves more than Vlad hates the new Vamps...

I have to agree on that - the Elves don't look good. The Halflings look like Hummel Dolls.(Actually, that I can stand; adds some humor

Maybe the new looks haters should join together and make a huge petition list, complaining and asking a patch to change the grafics (which will be separate for each creature  )

...perhaps not, but I certaintly won't be happy...and if I'm not happy, my contributions to the HoMm community will become even less than it already is...
...and the elves isn't the only problem that I have with it...simply one of the major ones...

I don't like the looks of..
Medusa... She looks like a ugly snow!
Why make that cool snakewitch into a stupid crocodile something..... With tail and all other graphics of the crocodile in it... No I lost my taste in medusa..(She used too be my favorite creature)

My favorite creature now..(Manticore) is not even in homm4. Probally a chimera will replace it even in the expansion seth..

AHAH! But Medusa is SUPPOSED to look like an ugly snow.. In greek mythology, Medusa was so ugly that anyone who looked at her would turn to stone (and she died by gazing into her own mirror reflection).. So it sounds like they succeeded if you think she's ugly.. Were you expecting someone pretty?

right: Medusa was ugly (but I prefer the good looking version)
wrong: Perseus killed Medusa by cutting her head while looking her reflection on his shield (given to him by Hermes and Athena)
anyway, maybe a patch will solve the problem but they still have time to make new models for a couple of creatures (ie: Medusa, Vampire, Elf)

I know she is suppose too be ugly.. But I just loved her Homm3 model! Anyway.. There was only 1 medusa.. And homm is good in changing creatures... I say put the snakegirl with the bow back!
And ps.. the most stupid change about her are those stupid legs...(Those aren't even in the mythology version of her)

...also, there wasn't exactly any correlation between her ugliness and her stone gaze. She was simply hideous and turned people who looked into her eyes to stone, as well...
...so the only reason that Perseus survived, was because he never actually stared at her directly...maybe they should make it so that a swordman or something can be carrying a shield, and then when facing the "medusas", they defense can be lowered because they're looking away, but then they have maybe 5% chance to be turned into stone, as opposed to some higher number

LOL!
I know why she changed soo much! They are so lazy at NWC.. they disided too put 2 creatures in one.. So they putted both the stone gazedcreatures in one! A basilisk and a medusa(So that's why she has a tail and legs..(little bit basilisk like) So now they don't have too make an basilisk anymore They are so smart and lazy!

...actually, as the myth varies, in some she is simply a woman (with legs) with snake-hair...however, she's usually depicted with basically a snake body...
...no big deal to me though...I was never really a big medusa fan anyway...pixies are so much better
