Lord Godric - Personally I like the first picture, make the actual (biggest) wisp a bit smaller?
Veco - You have some real talent. I love the cards myself.
As for flying, yeah the rolling spikes ability would not effect flying units...thanks for pointing that out. Lol didn't even cross my mind.

When I saw Rolling Spikes the first thing that came to my mind is a unit that can sacrifice himself to roll over 3 squares in a straight line and hurt everyone on them (friend or foe). Except flying off course.
Other than that, sounds great so far.

I have some bad news - I can't search for suiting images via modem, it's just so painfully long to load a single 800x600 pic
So until I get back home or go out for a HotSpot or a neighbour finally creates an unsecured wireless in the vicinity I can only work with the stuff you send me here
Oh btw, the magic cards were supposed to look different - it's the same background only slightly recoloured
will upload correct jpgs later

This is looking to be very interesting and that card veco just posted is an excellent top-down design.
(a word of advice i'd drop tapped and untapped to try to shy away from mtg.)

Some of them have multiple but seperate abilities, how then do I make sure only one or the other is used? For instance the mining robot..it can either add resources for you, or reduce resources for your enemy but not both. What would I use to make sure only one OR the other is usable?

@veco: Had I known you were so good at this, I would've sent you my card template so you could spruce it up.
I might turn this into the "Help HCers create their CCGs", but I'm settling in at my new house at the moment, so I have to find the hard copy of my CCG stuff.
@Misty: Have you copyrighted it yet? I did it with my game as soon as I got some decent ideas down. You can't really copyright the individual ideas you come up with, but you can sure as heck copyright the end result (i.e, the actual card game/rules/etc.).

Yeah, that is one problem Veco. However, if you do the cards with just the flavor text, resource cost, etc then if I can get it copywrited and somehow get it seen...
They might have some artist who could make the creatures .

Thought I would randomly put some upgrades here for the cards already made .
Lazer Drill - 1 research - Can be put on any creature with the word 'Mining' in its name. Removes the 'automatically destroyed if used to attack and defend' text from the upgraded unit and increases their attack by 50.
Magnatism - 2 research - Rolling spikes can now target any Mechanical creature that has flying with its attack OR special effect.
Plowshare - 1 food - Prevents target creature with Farmer in the name from attacking, but produces an extra food resource when the Farmer is tapped.
Chainmail - 2 food - Upgraded Humanoid gains +50 attack and +100 health.
Ice Cloak - 2 Mana - Upgraded creature can forgo attack to deal 50 attack in ice damage to any target creature on the field. If upgraded creature takes damage Ice Cloak absorbs 25 of that damage and is destroyed.

You should rework this in case there would be other units with "Mining" in their name, or will they also be destroyed automatically when fighting...nevertheless, like this it sounds like an upgrad making this creature completely indestroyable by battle!

Hmm yeah need rephrasing. All mining creatures (and there will be others besides the one currently listed) will automatically be destroyed if they attempt to enter combat, however.

that is done by joining two cards,Golem,and magic abomination.
each two cards could join if you have the joined card as well in your hand,with a joiner card. like in Yogi-oh!

Well that would be good except I want creatures like Elves (magical and humanoid) ammoung others. However the strongest of the strong creatures will have at LEAST two resource costs..
