From the top ...To infinity! Nostalgia FTW.

*Steps into the tavern - looks around, lots of happy faces grinning in the room, sees an empty seat, sits down and orders a drink*

*Gathers people around him with promises of sharing great stories from everyone*

Let me tell you a story, not just a story, but the story, my story.
[I think it would be great if this thread could be used for people to tell how they all once where a newbie (also those we today call the pro-players) and how they evolved into who they're today, game-wise]

I've been playing many games during what I call my gaming era, a great time period that have lasted for years, starting when I was at the age of 5 and still going strong at the age of 22.

Heroes wasn't my first gaming experience, no my first gaming experience was Captain Comic, which also was the first game I completed.

I was introduced to the brilliant Heroes series, and later Might and Magic series, by a former friend, who lived close by, he'd gotten his hands on Heroes 2, and we'd often sit over at him, playing for hours.

Though I believe a great part of the story is to tell how I [and hopefully you'll join me and do so as well] evolved in the perspective of playing Heroes. Do you see, when we played, we cheated, we cheated quite a lot, using the good ol' password 32167 (or was it 67321? I can't remember, though the first one lies the best on my tongue), gaining lots of black dragons and winning with ease.
Today I do realise that eventhough it might have been fun to watch the computer getting beated (the succes) and seeing the "amazing" graphics of Heroes 2, not to disinclude the coolness of letting monsters battle out and see who's stronger [I really enjoyed stuff like that back then, not only did I watch what I thought was a great show, Power Rangers, due to the cool machines vs. monster battles, but I did also create maps where stuff like 100 black dragons went up against 100 titans (I didn't know about how the stats of the heroes did influence the game, so I did all the time get different results for that match, as I was fan of the titans, I decided to simply stop doing those fights when the titans won once and say that was it, haha, how great it was)] then most of the fun was spending time with my friend.

I believe he's the first to get bored by our easy wins, so he suggested we'd play without cheating, I couldn't see why, I thought it was great fun, and thinking of the risk of failure [notice the failure part, it comes back again and again] was unbearing, so it ended up with him playing and I was watching, let's just say he did as we normally did when we cheated, except he didn't fight as much, but suddenly the computer was up at him and he was by far undermatched, so he loaded the game (I believe it autosaved), typed in the cheat for blackies, pwned the pc and the "feeling of revenge" was sweet.

Now I think is a good time to step in and note that I didn't cheat typically, I always tried to find cheat for my games, but this was the time before internet was something everyone had in my country, and if they did, it costed a fortune due to time taxes, so finding cheats wasn't easy and I was dependent of friends of friends to get the cheats, thereby I only managed to get cheats to Heroes games (my playmate had the blackies cheat, but I found the autmatic win cheat, 911), Doom 2, didn't fancy Doom 1 much, I guess because Doom 2 had more monsters I could get in monsters infight and see who was stronger [actually the lack of possible combinations of getting monsters to fight eachother was what made me start getting interested in programming, that and the ol' classic Jetpack, simply because there was stuff I wanted to do, which the game didn't allow me, and that I found it was actually very entertaining to be able to edit the game and try it out], GTA 1, Commandos and Half-Life, though these were much later in time, where cheats were easier to find. Thereby I couldn't cheat in most of my games and had to complete them in the way I first "fell in love" with computer gaming, but outsmarthing the computer in whatever way it may present its challenge. I partly believe if I'd never completed Captain Comic then my gaming-era would have been much shorter, as the thrill I got when that game was completed for the first time is something I've been seeking long, but never achieved again.
I managed to beat some other games without cheating, dividing it up in time as in dos-era, windows-era and recent time, I can include games such as:
Dos-era:
Captain Comic
Commaner Keen IV
Descent I (Wasn't me actually, though I gave moral support I guess)
One Must Fall-demo (well I suppose maxed stats could be counted as completed)
Wolfenstein-demo
[For this era there was many games I tried to complete, but only these few did I manage, I could list the games I failed in, but I'll list them later as I'll get back to it.]
Windows-era:
Half-Life Blue Shift expansion
Diablo 2 + Expansion
Fifa 98 (Winning the World Cup)
Lego Racer 1 & 2
Might and Magic VII
Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3
Half-Life Opposing Force expansion
Recent Time [Meaning the past year, not including those I'd already completed, thuough I did re-complete some, trying to find that thrill again, yet to no prevail]
Civilization I
Commander Keen I
Doom 1 & 2
Morrowind
Heroes 3 and Armaggedons Blade Expansion (meaning the Campaigns here, didn't finish the last Campaign in SoD, it felt too much like a duty than fun, and it was too much of the same over and over again. Though I really liked the first necro-Campaign, it was too easy though with those artifacts.)
Might and Magic VIII

[Note this only includes PC-games, I can mention lots of other games to other consoles, however I believe that would get too far away from the game I'm actually talking about and trying to set in relation to how I've evolved in the game and outside of the game on the same time and how these fits together, namely Heroes]

In the recent years I've refound many of my old games, many games I really would have wanted to be able to cheat in back in the day, to see what the game had to offer without me having to take the "risk of failure", and now with the internets easy knowledge sharing I've seen what I wanted to see back then, including stuff like How was Wolfenstein post-demo? (Sadly just more of the same, I remember imagining all sorts of cool ways it could have been, without changing the graphics or the way of the game in general, well I guess imagination often beats reality), how did the weapons in Rise of the Triad look like? and various ending sequences to game I was never able to complete such as Castle Adventure, Commander Keen I and VI and Lost Vikings
And many more.

[Finished with the cheating excuses and time to continue with the story] From then on I don't think we played much heroes 2, only once in a while, but most of all it was because of a new game I'd got my hands on, which suited our "desire for succes" much better.
The game was a manager game, and it became quite clear that it had to be a game of success, as when I got the sequel (much more information, many more options) it really wasn't any good, because in the game we played, you could be much weaker than your opponent, yet still win about 50% of the time, whereas it seemed to be the reverse in the sequel, as the sequel lacked success, we kept on the the original manager game.
What more could be noted was that the game pretty much consisted of 4 elements, first element you only had to do once ever, so that's fine, second element you'd to do at least once every 5th season (or about every 200 games) which really wasn't any fun and again more like a duty, third element was to buy new players, which was fun as buying players would weaken your team to begin with and later make it stronger, whereby there at least was a level of tactics involved in it, and fourth element was also much like a duty, every season (or about 40 games) you'd to redo your formation, redo the training, etc. and that again sucked, however as there was a great amount of success involved (it was just click on a button and the game told you that you won), it was something we found as great fun, though I believe it was much more to do with being social (as I very seldom played it alone, and you'd never underestimate the value of doing stuff together, many games I've tried gets 100x better when you're teaming with someone you know) and partly maybe also an attempt to excape the real world, anyway this game lasted long.
The game rate of success was actually so high that we decided not to cheat (cheating by reloading a game, given you lost or played a draw, whereby the only matches of importance was those against eachother), first by giving ourself maximum 3 retries, then later on none except for finals (Champions League finals etc.). In that way I came off from the cheating way and found more enjoyment in the games, like I'd in the early years with Captain Comic, yet not nearly at the same level though.

Sometime during this period I'd gotten my hands on Heroes 3, and later on the Armaggedons Blade expansion, to begin with I found the cheats to the game, now playing with another friend of mine, but having learned from previous experience I managed to convince this other friend that we'd play without cheating, however getting him to play anything but the easiest level I sadly couldn't do.
I remember to begin with I really didn't like the game, but like a duty I did what I usually did back then, first I cheated, like mentioned, though partly also to find out what options there were, then I made some maps, to make creatures fight eachother, as I still didn't know about the importance of stats (especially speed, back then speed wasn't a good thing, because the one who went first would be attacked first as he walked almost up to the other creature) I often ended up with different results, concluding the monsters I liked the most won, unless the difference of quality was really high.
With time I came to like the game, and when I found out how effective Mighty Gorgons were against Azure Dragons (later on I discovered this included all level 10-monsters) I took a liking of those monsters. Though I believe I never got very good at it at that time (I could not defeat hard difficulty, I always went for money, etc.), I did enjoy it pretty much. Then came Heroes IV, and I tell you I was dissapointed, but remembering that I was likewise dissapointed with Heroes III to begin with I decided to give it a shot, and I really did like playing a thief (or let's just say numerous), getting combat and order for teleport, and death for mire (or what the slow spell on adventure map is called) and then make some quick strikes defeating the computer very fast no matter what difficulty (though I found it sucked that it always did buy monsters when I was almost at the castle, the single thief was still strong enough to win most of the time), and heck even if the game did drag out I'd got most of the ressources before the computer and I would have more black dragons with my fire immune armaggeddon using chaos mage than the computer, so it was pretty overpowered in that way I guess, but the success rate was high and I liked it, however Heroes IV was still in the shadows of Heroes III, but at some point of time both games were forgotten and eventually stolen whereby I moved on to something else (Diablo 2 I believe).
In recent times I got my hands on Heroes III again [and later Heroes II (and even later yet Heroes I)], likewise I found this homepage, discovering how great a game Heroes III actually can be, using cool tactics such as demon herding, Vamps against Grif-Conservaties, Mighty Gorgons against Utopias, or the good ol' Efreeti Sultan + Armaggedon scouts (or even better Pheonixes), I mean if something is overpowered that must be Armageddon, unless your opponent get one of the orbs, the recanter or those shackles, one phoenix can defeat 100 archangels by simply surrender and repeat, taking out 10 AA's pr. round. Sure you won't get nearly as much experience, but in my experience at that stage of the game where your opponent have 100 AA's, your warriors won't get much extra levels anyway.
So what do I dislike about Heroes III? I dislike fast maps, maps where you know you've to move quick or you loose, maps that have the so called final battle in week 3 or something like that, that's why I prefer big maps with limited options except for your own area which should be able to keep you busy the first month at least. That type of slow gaming, in a far obscure way reminding of chess (I've played turnament chess and know Heroes has nothing to do with chess, yet I believe that's the picture many have), or how about the shackles+orb of inhib+undead armor+orb of vuln+first strike(phoenixes)+armor/offense/archery specialist, at a high level, not much can compete, especially if you've some arch devils/sharpshooters for the attack and retreat option/shooting you can defeat armies 10 times your size, as long as these armies are slow enough (with slow on them, and as long as you deal enough damage before slows wears off of course). I did also make a retry of the battle between monsters, with quite some different results this time, having the speedier monsters often winning, especially in a 100 vs. 100 units fight, as you can abuse your opponents retaliation pretty easy (I do not, and never have, allowed advantages via moral or luck, and in the recent fights I made sure all stats were at 0/0/1/1, with no creature specialities or ground advantage).

Likewise I recently tried Heroes II, I didn't find it very good I must admit, it has by far the best atmosphere of any of the games, but that's pretty much it, I believe the only thing that ever made Heroes II for me was the fact that I had a friend to play it with, Heroes I seems to me much like Heroes II with worse graphics and fewer towns, and not quite as good an atmosphere.

Making tests in Heroes II, I found the most power / pr. money invested seemed to be the Champions (Second highest Human town creatures), however in a way it's much like ogame (if you know that game), the cheaper units are better for any given fight because they've more power pr. investment, however you'll loose a lot of these, and not much of the stronger units, meaning for the second match the stronger units may now win the fight eventhough still at less numbers.

Oh and I think there really should be a "wait" option in Heroes II, like in Heroes III.

So all in I'd say my knowledge of the game has grown [when speaking about knowledge, it reminds me about the forcefield+knowledge strategy, quite good against the AI, though dispel/haste can really ruin it], but one thing I believe I was able to before I cannot do anymore, earlier I could choose for my shooters if they should shoot, or if they could, use melee, eventhough the opponent wasn't standing right beside, that option doesn't seem available anymore for some reason. Anyone with any experience in this part?

I thought I should also include a bit about Might and Magic games, not much as this post have got a bit long, and I won't discourage others, making them skip their turn, the same friend who introduced me to the heroes series (Heroes II) and later on also the Diablo series (Diablo II), did also introduce me to the Might and Magic series, buying Might and Magic VII, and letting me buy it from him (later Might and Magic VIII, which he gave me for free), I believe he probably didn't like the games, I got very discouraged in Might and Magic VIII (which was after I'd completed VII), as I simply couldn't get past the beginning back in the windows-era, later on, in recent times I have completed it, twice now. For the Might and Magic VII, I did complete it back in the days, but it took me a very long time, many months probably and in the end I had some level 86-87 characters, with the same setup as you get in the beginning. I tried many thing else, but I never had the patience to recomplete the game.
Meanwhile my friend had bought Might and Magic VI, and this game he seemed to like very much, though he didn't want to play it when I was over at him, he told me he did complete it, and the ending I checked in recent times on youtube do match his description.

Lately I've tried to let my real life values shrine through when I play games, only doing stuff I'd do if I really was in such a situation (and wasn't hiding behind the sofa!), which means I've tried to complete recent games with a "no-violence" + "speed-running" + "game is finished when the main target (threat to the world [or whatever made it so important to be there in the first place]) have been completed. That have made up for some different game play, though I'm far from skilled enough to pull it off in most games, and have been "forced" to make compromises to even get anywhere, I did complete Might and Magic VIII with only a total of 3 kills, the first was an accident (stupid buttons), the second I believe I'd to (getting a key from a pirate) and the third was due to a bug (they were stuck in the door way). All in all it was pretty cool to be only late level 30's when finishing the game (though I got quite a lot of experience for the last few quests and I think I could level up to somewhere in the late 40's - early 50's).

Likewise am I trying to do the same with diablo 2 (sadly needs compromises for my part), and Might and Magic VII, though for Might and Magic VII you sadly seem to have some "must-kill" target.

I couldn't imagine doing this for a Heroes game though, haha, that would seem quite impossible, unless you quickly write 911 of course.

So now it's your turn, tell how you've evolved outside and inside of the Heroes game and how these fits together, did you like I start with being a cheater, who only played to play with a friend / escape from the world, and later on realised the fun in tactics and evolved your game play, finally trying to imprint your life values in your gaming self, or were you always this good?

The ball is up, and it's your turn.

Edit:

Thanks for your reply carcity, yeah it's not as long, but I think it might actually had even more information about heroes in it, haha.

I thought about it, and I think I'll also add a bit about the future, heroes and might & magic wise.

I do not intend to buy Heroes 5 (or 6), nor Might & Magic IX.
First Heroes 5, as for what I've seen it reminds me a lot like Heroes 3, though it's still much different, and in some ways not different enough, for me it seems like it's Heroes 3, with new rules, better graphics and other monsters, however I don't like heroes 3 for the rules, but I like to be custom to the rules, which I'm in Heroes 3. I don't care much about the graphics (heck remember I did find Heroes 2 to be the one with the best atmosphere), and finally I enjoy the monsters I know of in heroes 3 very much, I've been looking at the monsters in Heroes 5, and many are very cool, but many of the new rules seems to make my old tactics horrible and many of the monsters I like will perform badly. I may buy it though, but the "worst part" is the groving custom part, it took me many months to think Heroes 3 was better than Heroes 2, and to even like Heroes 4, after those months I usually won't play the game for long anyway, and thereby it seem like a waste of time to make a commitment to a new game, no matter the high level of quality, to only enjoy it for short while.

For might and magic IX, well when you hear from even the most "hardcore" fans (or at least they claim to be, and seemed to be so towads Might and Magic VI-VIII) that M&MIX isn't worth you time, then I won't start to look too much into it, after all I've plenty in M&MVII-VIII.

cool story bro, let's see if I remember this correctly.

when I first started playing heroes it was at a friends house, and he had heroes 3, and I really liked the game, although later on I wanted the game at my house so I went to a store and bought it at the same time as I bought heroes 4. and well, I've always been good at most games I've played, but I never seemed to be able to complete neither heroes 3 or 4 without cheating (although now I've completed many campaigns in Heroes 4 without cheating). and then I got heroes 5, and I never where able to complete te third inferno campaign without cheats. and I've never been able o complete HoF or ToE. and well, that about all I can remember about my gaming history right now, not by far as long as your story but anyway.

EDIT: never tried any of them might and magic games, although a local game storesells a copy of might and magic dark messiah, I think I'll maybe buy one. Also I gigured out another thing to add about my ga´ming history, it all actually started with the original super intendo console, it's very old and it first belonged to my dad. the only game we have on it is super mario world, great game, the next thing we got was a playstation 1. we have quite a few games on there, and it's great fun all of them.

*looses myself in great nostalgia.*

well, later on we got the PS2 and got really many games on there. and well then we also got the PS3 when that got out, have a few gaes on there. and then last christmas me and my younger brother got ourselelfs a Wii (mine) and he got an Xbox 360. we have about 3-4 games on each console and right now I'm waiting until the 30th november when the game Red Steel 2 gets out. really want it, have seen all trailers for it and the E3 gameplay thing.

Cool thread Reason I have not yet replied is that you can get lost talking hours and hours with that kind of thing But I guess games that have had an impact on me as a gamer or any kind of influence are..

The original rayman that was actually my first pc game. Imaginative, fun, simple yet hard at the time - it was a good start. The second is amongst my fave games, good high school times.

Broken sword 2, talk about a brilliant mix of wits, humour and fun riddles Taught me to love adventure games, syberia was a most worthy successor to the classic point&click style. And runaway ofc.

Heroes that was my second game, when I moved for second time my new neighbour introduced it to me I had seen H2 a few years ago but wasn't very impressed, probably because I didn't know someone to show me its ways. And I had seen it at a friend's again, neither of the two knew how to play Back to H3, I introduced a new friend, then two more and man we had some good hotseat times. Was at a good carefree period of my life. H4 was fun for a while and currently addicted with H5. For about 3 years

I'll have to mention street fighter and tekken, boy I had played a lot back in the day. Nothing like a good fighting game to keep up the rush.

Baldur's gate 2, needless to say I've completed it several times and seen just about every npc interaction, completed every quest. They don't make games like that anymore The culmination was when I beat the game solo - though I lost my save in the expansion when I faced Sendai. A shame.

Neverwinter nights with its modules and hordes of the underdark, now those were the times. The original was lacking but there were so many quality modules, spent a lot of time with it. Nwn2 and mask of the betrayer were damn good, if only they had a better interface. Motb in particular was outstanding and having played it after torment I saw a possible successor in it. Of sorts.

Planescape torment.. Man was I dumbstruck. That game could actually surpass baldur's gate 2, certainly does in depth, imagination and quality though it lacks an equally superb gameplay. Not that I can complain

Fahrenheit aka indigo prophesy proved amongst the most interesting games I've played recently, dark, intelligent, exciting.

And of course psychonauts that I won't get into, anyone not having played it certainly should Plain fun.

There are probably many that I forget right now. Many good platforms back in the day including megaman, castlevania, sonic, Mario, battletoads..

oh right megaman, a frined of mine gae me a copy of megaman X5, and it's the best megaman game I have ever tried, the gameplay was great. later on I tried megaman x3,7 and 8 but none of them stood a chance against the 5. it was one of the best games I've played, a shame I don't have it left.

and BTW Ohforfsake, you where'nt the only one who cheated, back in the days when I played GTA San andreas me and my borthers printed out every cheat there was to find and a few more from the internet, we had walkthroughs to every single second of the game. if we didn't know what to do we just checked in the walkthrough and it said exactly where to go. we had about 10 different maps on where to find all the hidden objectives.

People's gaming background varies But I'm pretty sure I've played less games than the average gamer.

Nothing beats megaman X4 Certainly not those that came after it, played till X6 or 7 not sure. It's like they gradually started decreasing in quality.

Megaman zero series in game boy advance was also good fun. Hard as hell too

Haha good to know that I wasn't the only one who cheated, though I wouldn't call using a walkthrough as cheating, as I think it's the game developer who've made a bad job if a walktrhough is needed.
well we had cheats in there too, more than half of it was cheats and half of the rest where maps

Ah then I'm not the only one hehe, that's nice, btw. I think I remember one of the passwords, wasn't there something with buckfast or something like that?

I remember the very first time I tried GTA 1 (wanted it at that time, but it was at a friends house I tried it), my tactic was this: Behave really well (don't drive insanely as everyone else who plays ) and then suddenly strike and dissapear so the cops won't know it was you. Sadly my friend didn't have the patience for that, so I first tried to do that when I got the game myself, to my dissapointment, you can't fool the cops, they always know where you're even if you drive quite normally and have made sure to have extra backup cars to change to, etc.

Though if you drive through a paint shop (or what it was, I don't remember), then eventhough you've a cop car just behind you, you're free to go .

the big reason we started cheating is because in one mission, you're supposed to chase another guy on a motorcycle, and he drives into an alleyway, and infront of there is always a cop bike, it doesn't give a **** about him but it starts chasing you, rendering the rest of the mission impossible, so our very first cheat was the one so you never gets wanted.

I remember stuff like that, you know that sometimes randomly, the cars controlled by the CPU would actually drive someone down in stead of them jumping over the car? Well everytime it happened, the cops always blamed me and started chasing me, and it's was just like, what have I done!?

And the cop always walks out the car, yells "freeze!" and then he shoots! If I "freeze" I'll get hit!

If I could I would edit the game, so it would be much more like reality, that if there's no witnesses and you change your car, you can fool the cops, and that you'll get the cops after you, if you drive madly oh and also you'd have to stop at the red lights.

Thank you. Taking into consideration, that I never did read the in game text (I wanted action) back then, and nor was I very good at english either, it's quite a mystery how I ever got through (I was about level 88 or something with all 4 when I finished).

I can just imagine myself running around in the game frustrated, not knowing what I should the swim suits for, or confused when the 1 year thing happened, and didn't understand why I didn't get any new quests in the war, or when I cleared out the whole of Tatalia + Wromthrax cave using 4 of the lousiest bows and hit and run with 4 chars that all only had 1 point in bow invested.
Or all the time I happened to go to jail because I was bored from the fact nothing new happened, so I went out defeating anything I saw, then decided that I'd recheck in the castle.
Or when I ran around in the Eoful Tunnels completely confused of how I happened to get there, in stead of into Nighorn, and running away from all the Medusas and Behemoths.
Or when I defeated the Mega Dragon, just to get some Sandals.

That was of course before I started to use the pacifist playstyle.
Not that I think there's anything wrong in killing in a game, it's just fiction after all, not it's more the fact that I decided it was weird that I'd act one way in a game and a whole other, if it had been the real world, yet I'd always seen games as simulations of situations that might would happen in the real world, asking what would you then do? I certainly would not take a blaster under my arm and start firing, probably I'd hide under the first bed I saw.

Edit:
Some people just suck at games.
That was how I felt first time when I started gaming, for me it was so easy, jump when needed, shoot when needed, teleport when needed, etc.
So I wondered, why was it so hard for other people I knew?

Well back then I had this game called Prince of Persia, it was all I imagined playing was for others.

When I jumped, I jumped either to far or to short.
When I wanted to make a running jump, I'd often jump to early or to late.
Often I'd not hit the buttons in the right time, so I'd in stead of jumping forwards, jump upwards, go a little forward upon landing and fall down.

I'd no idea how to fight in this game, there was no game manual or anything, so when it came to sword fights, I'd not know how to thrust (actually I didn't even get the sword out before I was one hitted).

There were traps I never discovered, items of torture that would probably have given me nightmares many years to come.

Anyway, getting older, I retried the game, and I've after 8 attempts managed to beat it.

First time I tried, I got through level 1, a level I'd never before (when I was a little kid) being able to beat.
If you know the game, I'll tell you, I lured the guard out, then I took the way around back to the beginning, jumped down and ran for the exit.

I was stuck for the next 2 attempts on level 2, but on the third attempt I managed to beat it. My problem was at that time, that I did not know how to grab objects.

Level 3 was a pain, so was level 4, the first few times, but I managed to beat those as well during the third attempt (when you die, you restart at the level beginning for most levels, an attempt first ends when you either gives up (closes the game) or the time (1 hour) runs out).

Level 5 and level 6 went relative easily.
You see in level 2 I managed to find out how to use the sword for fights, and I really only wanted to go through the game because I realised some opponents might actually put up a worthy sword fight, some fat dude, the shadow and then the final boss.

But the easy way, using cheats to get where you want and then take cheats of got bugged somehow, so to do this I'd to go through each and every level, and I got more and more interested in actually completing the game.

In level 6 I met the fat dude, dissapointingly easy I must admit, all I did was attack (he defends+counters) which I defend and counters, which goes on, until he's been hit (his defends misses).

So I got to level 7, which wasn't hard at all, and then level 8 and it was going great and I think I was "only" on 3th attempt or something like that at this time.

Level 8 however, was very hard for me, the timing needed, the traps in this place. You see I'd found a way to get past most traps, winning most sword fights, so in the end, my real problem was the jumps, or to say, mispressing the button, so my jump would miss, and I'd to do the entire level from the beginning.
However here, I'd to move fast or the gates would close and I'd to go through the same again and again, so I couldn't use the regular tricks, and a guard was placed so he'd one hit me when I appeared (only time I found a useage for duck, except when crawling down).

After several attempts, I think about 3 more, and I was at attempt 5 I finally managed to beat this level, I should probably also say thanks to the little white mouse that for some reason appeared and got me out of the cave.

Well I got pretty far on 5th attempt, to level 10, where my time ran out.

On the 6th attempt it went pretty smooth and I got to level 12, where it was all about making running jumps, what I'm worst at in that game. So I ended up loosing on time on both the 6th and the 7th attempt in level 12, before I finally on the 8th attempt managed it.
On the 8th attempt, after getting past many running jumps, I first met my shadow, at this point I'd about 2 minutes left, I hit it, and I took damage, how weird was that, I hit again, and I took damage again, well, so I got a little back, maybe I could trick it, so I took down my sword for moveability, and it does the very same.

Fine I think, so I'll just move past it and we melt together, and that was pretty easy actually, but the time was almost up, I didn't expect to beat it there, but I continued, I went up and saw the final exit, seing the timer was counting down every second of the last minute now.

There I met Jaffer, I thought I'd to hurry, take him down, a little bit of the bridge dropped down, I could maybe get him down in the whole and win the game via that, the seconds were ticking.

I managed to block his attempts and swap side with him, then we started our figth, I thought he'd be a good defender, so I should just be offensive, but no he countered me at once, I got hit, only 3 times more to get hit and I was down, only 15 seconds left, and the game was over.

I tried again, this time contering his counter which he countered and so forth for 5 seconds of counterattacks until he got hit, but it was not enough, he was only close to the edge, but I saw it for me there, if I hit him, he'd fall down, if he blocked and went for a counter, he'd also fall down during blocking, so I quickly attacked, 9 seconds left, jaffer felt and the timer stopped.
Realising the timer had stopped, I was more careful than ever, not falling down into the very same hole as jaffer did when I was to pass it.
The gate had opened, I went inside, pressed the right buttons, freed the prinsesse, and the game started over again (Whaaat!?).

Anyway that was probably the best or second best experience I've had completing a computer game, still it felt a little empty, as it's just a computer game, I think I'll go do something productive now.
