As Karmakeld stated, this project is not associated with Equilibris. It's just something I decided to work on for fun

It's not really a mod (I haven't touched the game's code), but more of an advanced options map editor

I am always working on it and I update the thread (http://www.celestialheavens.com/forum/7/15979) anytime I have completed something major.

Currently I'm working on viewing and editing individual scripts (got a few of the major ones finished and working). I still have a bit of work to do here, but then I'll work on copying / pasting scripts between events, and next I want to work on an area selection tool with various options such as: change all terrain to terrain type, change terrain type 1 to terrain type 2, remove objects of type, copy selection (then can paste on another map), and more.

Metalhead, that sounds interesting. I think many would welcome that program, or at least an easy way to do so. Hopefully I'll have the time to try it out soon.

Nice I have plans to add this feature as well, but you'll probably get it done before I do since I have a long list of things, including random map generation, to get to.

I'm not sure how much you know about how .h4c files are encoded, but I have done some extensive documentation that you can take a look at which I'm sure would be helpful (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1j35syvvSBywvfG54nj5WfQEaPc9nJV8ZQEFez8StKrk/edit?usp=sharing).

The terrain codes are near the bottom of the document. Unfortunately I still haven't figured out the terrain boundary codes, so the terrain will be blocky

Together with a friend of mine, we have started working on the map converter even more than before.
And I have already managed to get a few maps converted.

But the thing should be finalized as a new project rather than just a mod.
I would help but no IT skills at all. I can offer only working website for this project.

Agreed. I know a couple of programmers, but none of Them knows how to add objects, which would be the sole purpose. iLiVeInAbOx05 has spent the last couple of months figuring out how terrain and scripts are setup for his map generator. I guess we could ask them if they would be willing to try to find out how to add objects. But we'd also need new objects. I will gladly help and support such a project, if we can assemble a dedicated team.
Salamandre, would you be able to provide the objects you've displayed?

I was hoping for NimoStar to figure out how to add objects during his large modding list and to let the rest of us know how he did it

I would work on adding objects to the game, but my plate is currently full with the H4MG, The Unity project, my own The Reckoning campaign, and life in general.

If, however, someone is able to successfully add even a single object and document their process, I would definitely look at adding something in the H4MG to help automate that process (meaning give us a programmatic way to do it).

I think you're misreading the conversation. The H4MG that I'm working on and that Karmakeld advertised here can open or create .h4c map files and has a lot of working utility already.

These objects that are being discussed above don't have anything to do with adding an object to a .h4c map as you can with the H4 Editor (this would actually be trivial). What we are talking about is adding objects to the game itself New quest huts, trees, structures, etc.

I might as well mention that the initial release of the H4MG is available over on Celestial Heavens here.

There's a description of what it can and can't (yet) do, as well as planned features. Near the bottom is a link to download it.
