Okay, so how do you determine the amount of actions I can take?
Onestandard action maximul, I get that, but can I take 3 minor ones or one standard and one minor one?

EDIT: are races like gnomes and githzerai allowed?

NOOOOOOOOO the monk is gone!

Was thinking about being either monk or bardWarlord. But then I see that monk is deleted and Keskimaton called dibs on warlord. Ohh well, back to the drawing table for me

P.S. Don't worry Keski, be a halfling warlord, I find something else fun and intresting.

Edit: Hmmm, I've never been ranger before. If Rangers still got healing spells I can be a kinda healer with a bow to cover my friends

Probably my favorite class, although their spell list got nerfed for 3rd Edition.

And yes, they still should have healing spells. And Entangle.
And they get an animal companion too.

Look at the “Actions in Combat” table I provided on subsection A.5.

All Standard Actions there can be done once in your turn, unless a power you have allows you to change that.

Minor Actions most of the time cost nothing (like free actions) if you are not moving from your position (reloading costs nothing as a action) but sometimes you must have Speed Points because they might be related to movement (like oppening a chest or door so you need to have speed points to walk the tiles and get there). However if they are not related to movement, like drinking a potion, they cost nothing and you can take both a standard and minor action at the same turn (note that drinking potion can be done only once per turn as a minor action, the rest you can do everything you want as long as you have enough movement points, if necessary).

And Free Actions costs nothing so you can do them whenever you fell like doing them (including on the turns of others).

About the races: yes any race you see there can be in =). On 4th Edition Githzerai have settlements on the Forgotten Realms.

Yes the Monk is gone =(. Actually no =D. But you need to pay for the full Char Builder to have it (the Monk becomes available after a update). Since I guess you don’t have the Full Builder I can make a Monk for you if you wish, just choose basic details like race and alignment. Monk is fast and deals moderate damage. His role is striker. Primary atts are: STR, DEX, WIS. His powers come from the source: Psionic. Yes, that’s right! I guess they wanted to mix martial with mind or something.

Rangers are damage dealers now either with a bow or 2 swords, so no healing powers/spells.

@B-E-T-A: You can go warlord if you want to. When I thought it trough, I don't think that a halfling with Tourette's syndrome and coprolalia would make a very good warlord.

If you'd like to play a warlord I could play a defender of some sort.

@Keski, I won't play warlord. I decided to play ranger seing as that is a class I have never been before

I'll be either Elfs ranger or Githzerai Ranger.

Thanks. Decided to be archer ranger. I know most people chose rangers because of dual wield, but I never understood that. Where is the "RANGE"r part in that?

Edit: Also I got a question, what are we gonna call our Adventuring Company? When I make my character they ask for Adventuring Company. And what is RPGA Number?

RPGA is a branch of Wizards of the Coast Company that creates and schedules adventures for ppl to play together. RPGA number is the corresponding number of your "account" there so that you can use it in events, to donwload content and such. Since we are not playing a adventure done by then now just ignore this field on your character sheet.

Also you guys may or may not choose a name for your party/adventuring company. You have total freedom on that. Remember however that you will be a recently formed one, since you are all lvl 1.

I was inspried by the warp spider exarch from Warhammer 40k(seeing as high elves can teleport at will i like the idea that your trying to range attack him but he teleports just as your arrow reaches him.)

rogue means bandit

Sorry, I hate correcting things almost as much as mistakes...

But it's a nice choice, all we need now is a defender and a leader, I think...

Since Berny-Mac quit we need someone in his instead, you guys could call one friend or someone you have contact here on the forums? A 5 party is ideal to play but we can play with 4 if not possible.


ROGUE SKILLS

Since lucky_dwarf is going to play a rogue I'm going to explain here how the Rogue Skills work on 4th ED.

Sneak Attack

It works in a very simple way: Once per round, when you have combat advantage against an enemy and are using a light blade, a crossbow, or a sling, your attacks against that enemy deal extra damage (Combat Adantage always grants anyone with +2 to attack rolls too). As you advance in level, your extra damage increases.

Level Sneak Attack Damage

1st–10th +2d6
11th–20th +3d6
21st–30th +5d6

As explained before you gain combat advantage over a enemy when it is:

-Distracted (I tell you) and you must reach him making a series of skill checks (stealth) or attack with crossbow;
-Unable to see the attacker (you can use concealment and your stealth skill here);
-Flanked by 2 or more chars;
-Surprised;
-Unconcious;
-Squeezing;
-Climbing;
-Stunned;
-Blinded;
-Prone or laying down;
-Running;
-Caught off-guard;
-Under the effects of a combat spell/power that grants you combat adantage;
-You have a power/feat/ability that grants combat advantage somehow, prior to your attack roll.

NOTE: If you choose the skill "Bluff" (Charisma based) you can try to gain combat advantage over a enemy 1 time per combat, if you annouce you want to bluff on your turn, then you roll a Bluff Skill Check against the enemy Insight Defense, given by me. Suceeding you gain combat advantage and next attack is considered a sneak attack against the target you bluffed. You can also use Bluff to attempt to become Stealth anywhere you are. However, in this case, you must make a Bluff skill check against every enemy Insight Defense that sees you. Once stealth you can make a sneak attack on any target.

Normally You can attempt to become Stealth only when connected to a action, so you cannot become stealth and walk around in stealth mode. You must be in cover or concealment first or the creature (s) be distracted so you roll a Stealth Skill Check against the creature (s) Perception Defense, given by me.

You disable a trap if you:

1-) Perceive it by making Active Perception Skill Checks or me using your Passive Skill Check Value against a DC number of a trap set by me;
2-) Have the "Thievery skill";
3-) Stand adjacent to it and spend a standard action to disable it with a Thievery Skill Check vs Trap DC (you can also delay the trap until your next turn, in this case you get +5 to your Theivery Skill Checks against Trap DC). If you fail the thievery skill check you TRIGGER the trap, if it is not triggered by default.

You open a lock if you:

1-) Have the "Thievery skill";
2-) Stand adjacent to it and spend a standard action to make a Thievery Skill Check against a Lock DC value given by me (note that the number of Skill Checks depends on the complexity of the lock given by me, so sometimes you have to roll 2 or more Thievery Skill Checks to suceed);
3-) Sucess: lock open. Failure: lock not open, small chance of breaking the lock.

You pick a pocket if you:

1-) Have the "Thievery skill";
2-) Target is distracted (determined by me);
3-) Make a Thievery Skill Check against a set DC: 20+your target's level;
4-) If you suceed you get one small object (you can't steal a plate armor from someone or something like that). If ou fail by 4 or less you don't get the object and te target is still distracted. If you fail by 5 or more target finds out your foul attempt and is going to be quite mad with you.

Sleight of Hand

You can attempt to fit your hand on small places to, for example, use a button or lever, pick an object, etc. if you:

1-) Have the "Thievery skill";
2-) Make Thievery Skill Ceck against a DC set by me;
3-) The effects of your sucess or failure depends on the context. If you are on a crownded area and fails, ppl see your failed attempt.

Skill Challenges

Note that sometimes you may come across a set of necessary successfull skill checks to reach your goal on something. Opening a very complex lock, for example, requires many Thievery Skill Checks. It can apply to other situations and skills too like "Diplomacy" that you may have to suceed on several diplomacy checks before convincing someone, suceed on a agreement, etc.

It's a dragonborn cleric that's going for a sort of mix and match between the strenght and wisdom stuff.
