Screensavers
What screensaver do you use
Lately i was bored of my old screensavers and i tried to find a new cool one... but it is very hard to find and choose one of many that are on the web. Still i have found one that was the best of all i have viewed... Here it is: UnderwaterFlame
The best part of this screensaver is that you can make an audio files playlist so it will not only launch an screensaver but also an music of you choosing in the order of your choice....
Still it isn't the ONE i looked for.. So what i look for is the screensaver that makes something happeninnig on the creen but not going in circles over and over again.... I would like to have an a just the same as i would launch DosBox(an dos emulating program) and launched settlers I(old game from 1993) and set it for demo mode. Somethin is happening on the screen there is always something new and fascinating going on...
But lets stop about me...
So What screensaver do you use now What is In yours opinion the best screensaver ? What types of them you like to have

Standard Windows "Stars" screensaver, can't say I even notice it much... it's good because it goes through all the screen and preserves 'burning' most efficiently. I don't care about being "cool" because, like I said, I don't even look at it "on purpose". Also screensavers usually carry viruses.

None. My screen just goes black and when I move the mouse it goes on again. I don't care much for screensavers. lol

Wow, this thread made me realize that I don't have a screensaver. It just goes black after a bit.

Nah, the screen going black means I don't need my computer right now. I don't understand why I'd need a fancy screensaver when I ain't even looking at my computer.

No, I'm in the future. My past monitors had screensavers .
Or my monitor is just dying. It's kind of annoying if I'm reading my mail or doing some hardcopy work at my desk and there's lasers and/or exotic fish flashing across my screen.

i must say that expected that you have diferent then standard screensavers... but there was a time in my life that also didn't care about it .. It was set for non and in power managment options i set that monitor would turn it self afte 10-15 minutes...
Maybe there weren't enough cool stuff out there like there is now.

Turned it off completely. Mostly because I've watched a lot of movies lately, and use an old CRT-screen.

CRT? I got an LCD mainly because CRT really hurt my eyes because I strained more with it but I don't have that problem with LCD.

I usually use "random" as default option, but well besides that i got it disabled most of the time.

I either use the computer or turn it off, no need for a screensaver.
A while ago I searched for a cool screensaver only for the reason of having it installed, but I got bored after trying two or three savers.

Almost always I use XScreenSaver (available for Unix, Linux, Mac), and most of the time when I use that collection, I go with Juggle [image]. There is a 3D version of the same screensaver (this one is available for Windows; here), but I don't think it is so cool as the other one.

I like especially the Mobius, and the Engine. The Ant-series, as well as the bouncing cow, are also fun!

You must have had a terrible old CRT for that to happen. Newer, flat-screen ones have adequate protection and 85Hz options which you should always use. On the other hand, when reading on an average LCD (not very expensive), due to the weaker contrast, your eyes will focus more, and tire them faster.
