It was a manual installation, so you just have to remove the files that you first added. If you have forgotten which those are, please refer to the readme file.

Hi I installed the mod but when I launched it I got " Original Heroes V was not found" ? But I have the game...

You must run the game directly from H5_RPE_Game.exe, don't use steam.
Also you need Tribes of the East + patch 3.1 unless you have GOG bundle.

@Pekute: your issues are not related to this mod, you seem not to have Tribes of the East, a damaged installation or using the wrong patch file.

@humanoid: that requires mapeditor skills, modding skills, photoshop skills, start reading all the basic guides on the forum and the editor documentation if you really want to get into it.

You will have to completely uninstall the previous installation of v.3.0 game.

Go into the Ubisoft main folder of your x86 Program Files main directory of your Crive. Enter the Heroes 5's folder and double click onto the Bin folder. From there double click onto the UpgradeLauncher.exe's application file.

Once the upgrader program launches, let the upgrader program find your patch for you and let it download it and install it. Even if it says that it is an EU patch, do not refuse it. Because, it is the global patch for that game and, it is, also, the most updated one.

Once the patch is installed, copy and paste the mod files back into the game's main folder. Follow Magnomagnus's installation steps at properly install the mod. Once the mod is installed, delete the original desktop window shortcut and, go back into that game's folder and double click onto the Bin folder. From here, you should find the .exe application file for the new game launcher as for the RPE mod., right click on it and, left click on 'Send to Desktop as new shortcut icon. Go back to your main Desktop Window to find your new Heroes 5 Icon. Double click on it and, see if it works as it should be.

Good luck with fixing the whole thing out.

Hello everyone!

After some games I started to reckon that thew heroes that specialize in archers have quite strong start due to the fact they begin with 3 stacks of archers. This can be quite seen in Sylvan faction.

3 stacks of archers is quite a strong thing you know?

Same goes for the tier 2 stronghold unit specialization (have in mind that first rage level gives them +6 attack so you can go quite grindy with that army).

Academy has gremlin spec hero as well, so the same goes for him.

Here are some suggestions for all the tier specs:

Tier 1 specialization - hero starts with 2 stacks tier1 the other will be tier 2.
Tier 2 spec - all 3 stacks are from different tiers
Tier 3 specialization - all 3 stacks are from different tiers

Here is why to do this:

tier 1 specs: this will cripple gremlin (academy) and scouts (dungeon) early easy creep.
Ingvar (fortress) - will get some spears for cripple

Tier 2 spec - this will make heroes like Orson ( zombie spec) not so useless.
Ranleth (dungeon - maidens) will have some other creatures to guard.
dougal (Heaven) - 1 stack of extra archers less
Gorshak (stronghold) - 1 stack of extra archers less ( just imagine
(compared to dougal and Gorshak,  ORson zombies are total wreck as a start pick).


Tier 3 - Ossir will not be so OP first week (i managed to beat 60+ golems on week one with 11-12 starting archers).
Also Rolf (fortress) - 3 stacks of bears which gives him quite a push on week one.
razzak (academy) 3 stacks of golems... I think he is Orson brother.
Kythra - (dungeon) will exchange 2 of the useless minotaur stacks for some scouts and maidens.
Telsek - (stronghold) will get a nice stack of archers.


Overall:
I see that some heroes start with 2 stacks only?
Can smb explain to me how is 2 or 3 stack starting pack calculated?
I see that creature spec heroes always start with 3 stacks.

Any opinion?

With 'regular' modding it is only possible to change the total amounts, but this is very limited, if dougal gets less archers then orson also gets less zombies. Changing the composition will require a difficult scripting operation. User PvP seems to have already done it for Russian Tournament edition but in the mod the script seems to be deactivated for some reason, at least I don't see any changes and my attempts to activate the script failed. I think they ran in some trouble, at least I expect trouble with taverns not showing the change.

Did you ask PvP how he implemented the script?

I need a strategy proposals on how to counter Inferno Gating oriented Hero (1% gating per level) in late game stages.

Currently I am playing Dungeon vs Inferno (I am inferno).

I know that inferno are pretty weak but if they have the ability and develop they can become very strong because of doubling they strength right away.

For example now I am at month 1 week 3 and I play nymus (1% gating per level) and he is level 11. He has expert gating (40%) + gating perk (20%) + gating building (10%) + 11 lvl(11%) = 81% of gating.
I also have swift gating for 25% initative gating cost.

He also has Enlightment for faster level up. We are playing map poor on gold and towns start at level 1. by the end of week 3 i have citadel + creatures till tier 5 but I cant hire them all .

I know that my opponent cant develop much better than me because there is just not enough gold (and i have a lot of exp with inferno games).

A question arouse in my head is that how someone can beat evenly developed inferno with 100% of gating at the time of the battle?

Sylvan players have guawrded archers that can make the difference, Heaven can reach the real units fast with the champions + archangels and some light magic.

Same  goes for stronghold and their archers.
Fortress can use thanes for "before gating" offense.
Necropolis... cant say yet.
Academy have a lot of archers (mages do very good job as well).

but what about dungeon? Currently the guy play with Assasin (this is what i see from the tavern).
They have dark magic but I will counter that with expert luck -> magic resistance -> second change for MR.

and imagine if I have dark magic as well.
At some point I may have up to 14 stacks on the battlefiled (7 inferno, 6 gated and 1 pupeted)

Any counter ideas?

The creatures mod+recruitment balances dungeons might potential vs other factions. Always pick secondary overlord hero from tavern, because recruitment is much more powerful for dungeon than for other factions because their low level creatures are all lvl3 basically. Blood furies with 14 initiative, no retaliation do most of the work, use sacrificial pit for even more blood furies. +don't forget witches have no range penalty now. Defensive formation can be useful to protect blood furies, because they constantly walk back in rank

Hy, the new hero class files all in the H5-RPE-AshanCore10/GameMechanics/RefTables folder? The Hero class.xdb és skils.xdb files.

And the texts folder of course.

Can't run the mod, I put it in my ToE Folder and all I get is an error.

Then I put it in the bin folder and there is another error "empty pointer to creature 180" and "no original game found".
