DESCRIPTION

"A feudal Empire,NorthGuard is the strongest realm of Ashan. It is a kingdom of fierce
knights and mages, with prevalent access to 'Ice' Magic and 'Constructed' elite troops.
The Empire chose  a huge ice shard as its symbol.On the battlefield, Haven troops are known to be extremely
resistant, relying more on a balance of power. The heroes of the Northern faction will develop skills and
abilities to support the hurricane of  Icy fury that will rush into the enemy's rank."

HISTORY

The Origins

3 YSD: Begginings of the NorthGuard Empire
Balor the Great unifies the human kingdoms of the North (founding the empire that will one day become the NorthGuard faction). A prophecy tells that the NorthGuard faction will be one of the most powerful countries but will always face danger from all fronts.

28-40 YSD: Wars of the South First Great War to the South
Most of the people to the south perish and the remaining few make an effort to race toward the northern territory that further bolster the faction.

48 YSD: The Unified Empire becomes the NorthGuard Empire
Leaders of the Northern Cities give absolute power to the New Council of Ice. The Human kingdom is renamed "NorthGuard Empire". Dissent grows among many citizens who resent being forced to abandon their faith in the old system. Many will leave the Empire's territory to join the nearby Freepeople .


The Modern Ages

843 YSD: Rebel Uprising
The 'Flame'Rebels storm the capital of the Northguard Empire and massacre the Parlimentry house. As soon as the Rebels are repelled, fighting breaks out as the various noble houses attempt to part of a new parliment. Duke Ivan of Giant leads the new goverment.

951 YSD:  War of the the factions
Rebel armies are confronted by a combined force of Norhtguard Knights allied with another faction(the SunPeople). The Knights pursues the Rebels into the Silver Kingdom.

969 YSD: 6th Eclipse - The Second Great War
The Rebels emerge in force and march towards NorthGuards's capital. This war will be known as The Second Great War and is the topic of Heroes VI's campaign.

Shadya
As dedicated as his comrades to the glory of the Empire,'s loyalty is balanced with a strong dose of pragmatism. Believing that the best enemy is one that is dead before he can lay a hand on a Northern soldier, Shadya has specialized for many years in the training and equipping of his archers. The shooters return his faith, believing that little can endanger them while Dougal is in command.


Archer Commander
   All Master Archers,Defenders and shard throwers in hero's army gain +1 to their attack and defense for every two levels of the hero, starting on first level.

Melody
Melody's earliest memories are of Ice Fairys, as she was born into a respected family of Ice Druids. She grew up knowing the ins and outs of those proud creatures, and when called to war for the Empire she readily brought her gifts to bear where she could do the most good. Melody ensures that the Ice Fairys that fight by her side are exceptionally healthy and respond well to commands.

   All Ice Sprites,Ice Fairys and Ladies of the Ice in hero's army gain +1 to their attack and defense for every two levels of the hero

City Hall
An upgrade of the Town Hall.
The City Hall allows you to purchase town structures and earns your kingdom 2000 gold per day.
Cost: 5000 gold
Requires: Town Hall, Town level 9.

Capitol
An upgrade of the City Hall.
The Capitol earns your kingdom 4000 gold per day.
Cost: 10000 gold
Requires: City Hall, Town level 15.

Tavern
The Tavern allows to recruit heroes. Increases morale of troops defending the city by +1.
Cost: 500 gold, 5 wood.

Marketplace
With the Marketplace you can buy and sell resources (exchange rates decrease with each Marketplace you own).

Resource Silo
An upgrade of the Marketplace.

Blacksmith
The Blacksmith provides your armies with First Aid Tent. Other war machines can be bought on triple price.

The Shipyard allows you to purchase ships.

Fort
The Fort provides your town with defensive walls.

Citadel
An upgrade of the Fort.
The Citadel increases base creature growth by 50%, adds a keep and moat-like terrain obstacles (Suffocating Quicksand) to a town's defenses and central tower (unit:Aprentice)

Castle
An upgrade of the Citadel.
The Castle adds two arrow towers, fortifies your town's defenses, and doubles base creature growth.

Magic Guild level one
Allows a visiting hero to learn the spells kept within. Keeps 3 random spells of the first circle. (1 Heat spell, 1 Fire spell, 1 Summoning spell)

Magic Guild level two

Ok.  Not sure how the others are judging, or if in fact anybody else is judging..so I am going to post my score/impression..but the main Judges that signed up will have the final word if they judge.  My scores will only count if nobody else is judging.

Background: 7/10 Sorry, not as good as your other entry.
Line up : 7/10 Decent.
Creativity: 7.5/10 though I loved some of the pictures, it just wasn't up to your other entry.
Overall : 7/10 Solid, but not a contender. (sorry)
