HOMM2 Campaign day records

I was wondering if there's a thread here/somewhere on the internet where you can compare days taken to complete campaign levels? Surely there would have been one in the past (a search proved unsuccessful).... just curious, would love to have a crack at some records if I think I can do them.

thanks for yer time all

Here is one of those: 66 (14 + 13 + 39) days (Lady LionStar, PoL, Wizard's Isle).

original Roland campaign: 52 (by LionStar)
Voyage Home: 29 (Nzol, Hell Executioner)
Price of Loyalty campaign: 82 (Hell Executioner)

At least, it's all I know.

Those results were shown by professional players (not amateurs). The whole campaign takes about 200 days to finish it when playing for fun i.e. in non-competitive style (using not the best possible starting conditions etc.)

You can find it with the pack Heroes Collection which has from heroes I (or two, I dont remember) to heroes IV including all expansions.

If you can't buy it, you can download it by torrent, but of course it would be "piracy".

It's clearly not possible to finish those campaigns that fast just playing the game as it comes in the shrinkwrap.  They must at least be using a movement hack, as it is mathematically impossible even to GET TO all the requited map objectives in so few days.

The Roland campaign, averaging FIVE DAYS per map?  Ah, no.

Your result is average. Those awesome results were shown by best Russian offline players, and, of course, without any cheating or something near. If you want to know how to do that, check Heroes Portal and ask yourself (there is English Tavern there as well). BTW, you still can find Lady LionStar there... Ask her!

I don't see anything there that would indicate information about HOMM2 campaign records.  Tried to register, but got a failure message when I tried to log in.

Thank you.  Are you familiar enough with that site to hazard a guess why there was no Archibald tournament?  I notice that in the tournament where LionStar claimed to have won the Roland campaign in 52 days, the second player did it in 58, and the third player in 424 days, fourth was 454 and fifth was 696.  This gross disparity indicates that the conditions of play were not the same for the first two as for the others.  You say there was no cheating involved, but, well, how do you know?

You listed results from one group only. There were others who had managed to win this campaign till day 100:

1. LionStar      52
2. Havr          58
3. Crazy Kolobok 67
4. ROLpogo       69
5. Kserks        75
6. Deep Mike     96

The same disparity occurred in some other tournaments, though less markedly.  Obviously there is a range of skill among those who cheat as well as among those who don't.  At some point their results will overlap.  Of course cheaters will not admit they cheated, so how do you know they didn't?

I don't know if you have ever heard about what offline tournaments are, and have you ever tried to play that way. Top offline players are highly skilled ones, they know almost everything about the game and use their knowledge. This knowledge is not a secret. Winners share their walkthroughs with all other players after tournaments, and, if it is necessary, share their day-by-day saves, so that everyone could check them if he wants to, or if he doesn't believe in results shown. I, too, played some offline tournaments and know that, in some cases, maps could be finished day 1, or 2! Newbees always are shocked with the results, and this is quite normal, as I know how it is to feel that kind of shock

Roy, stop trolling

AlexSP is right, there is no cheat involved in those campaigns top scores. Back in time, I saw myself saves from top scores and I must underline there was no cheat, but high skill. There is another thread here in HC about Unleashing the Bloodthirsty map, just check the MapHaven guild. One chinese player finished it in less than 3 months, while all others are at 9-18 months as average. He provided saves and detailed tactics about battles. I myself tried one russian map where it asked me in how many days I could finish it. It took me several days then I saw saves from one russian player who finished it in ONE day. All the tactics were valid, is just that I did not think about. It asked also for endless autosaves reload until you get the right setup.

As autosave is the game state when you click for the next day, it has no relevance for a map won in one day, as such a map HAS no autosave file.

Can you point me to a walkthrough for any of the extremely fast finishes claimed for the HOMM2 campaigns?  Thanks.

Hi everyone. I've been searching around the internet for information about completing the Roland campaign in as few days as possible, and I stumbled upon this post. So I wanted to ask you guys about the amount of days it took you to finish each part of the campaign?

About a year back I got the following scores that I think can be improved. Some slightly, some a lot.

Rol 1 - 18 days
Rol 2 - 5 days
Rol 3 - skipped it
Rol 4 - 19 days
Rol 5 - 14 days
Rol 6 - 23 days
Rol 7 - 30 days
Rol 8 - skipped it
Rol 9 - 38 days

Didnīt finish since I felt that some of the scores kind of sucked and I wasn't focused in my play the last couple of maps. As you all probably know, it's quite exhausting after a while trying to optimize your every move...

I'm about to give a new go at Force of arms, which is the first map, and then hopefully continue the whole campaign depending on if I feel that I have a chance at competing with the best and how much fun I'm having...  But before I do I just wanted to ask you about your scores to get a feel of, what I need to strive for

My definition of "cheating" in this experimentation will be that it is OK to save and reload as much as I like. Also OK to reload maps to get the "right" spells in the mage-guilds, the "right" wandering armies in key places of the adventure map and to get the "right" type of heroes to be available for purchase, and so on. Basically anything that you could get in an ordinary play-through with tremendous amounts of luck (not the "in game" kind of luck)

Of course it's not acceptable to use anything that has the game brand you as a cheater, like summoning black dragons or other creatures out of the blue. Using the debug feature to add extra hero movement, extra buildings, adding illegal resources, and so on... No programming or hex editing or HOMM2 Editor-editing is allowed either!

(By the way, does anyone know if it's possible to edit HOMM2 campaign-maps in the game editor? And if so, how do I do that?)

Please let me know exactly how many days each of the maps took you, so I can relate to that. Posts like "someone said they did the whole thing in 52 days" or "I averaged about a week for each map" will not really be of much help...

Any other tips or pointers that you might have are also very welcome
Thanks in advance!
