Yeah, flash had no idea what was going on with life. Didn't know about the incoming attack. Didn't know about there being over 100! units in life's army, simply totally blind. He needed to get a scout through those lings, he didn't even try after pulling his early hellions back, very disappointed at that.
Also, why did he leave his door open? Simply forgot?

If only that overlord had not stopped where it did...
but it did 
It's funny how scouting, scouting and more scouting is always the first thing I bash to new players' heads in any RTS and see what happened in last two games. Scouting failures. 
Another game that life won due to much better scouting.
He consistently sacrificed zerglings but that 25 minerals for seeing what is happening and where is way worth it. Compare it to the scan that terrans have that are actually A LOT more expensive if you consider what one mule brings into your economy.
What did flash do in comparison? Sat with his hellions on his side of the map focusing on controlling the xelnaga tower. Might be enough for an easy ladder game but come on, who is going to be stupid enough to come straight into your vision for an attack if he has an alternate, hidden route? In a tournament final no less. He also did not have any effort to scout what life was doing after that scv pulled back, a single scan might have saved him from this loss.

That hatchery set up at Terrans 3rd, trollolol. Evil.
Some Siege Tanks at high ground would help massively methinks, at least before Mutas.

They would, MASSIVELY. They don't oneshot banelings but they do oneshot lings. They also don't run out of ammo like mines do.
BUT you can make five widow mines for the gas of one tank....

The widow mines haven't been that useful though, save for the one that won him the game.

There's also the thing that mines hit mutas, but man, that last game was close, vikings were just a little too late against the broodlords.
And the missed shots on those 6 mines when that mass passed over them, he was probably keeping them on hold fire but couldn't get them selected and fired ass the mass just went over them in one wave.

Widow Mines do not have hold fire option, they can't be controlled... There is a 1 second delay that when you get in range of the mine with a zergling for example, if you get out of range of that mine in 1 second it doesn't shoot. So the lings ran over them too fast I guess? I don't know what else it could have been.. did they activate at all or just picked lone zerglings in some miraclulous way? Need to watch that part again.

Didn't activate at all, there were also other points in the games where it seemed like flash could delay their shots manually or they lagged behind for some other reason, perhaps there had network problems or he has found a way to manually deny the attack?
Just now watching the polt/life games, you were right, these are great.

The Mines did activate, just rewatched it. Somehow they hit spots where they didn't kill as many as they have potential to. The Widow Mine seems just very unreliable, killing zounds at one point and being worthless at another. Siege Tanks FTW!

Still, Flash looks better and better each time he plays. By the 27th of February he said he hadn't played any HotS match yet (and beta was off the 1 of March), so I'm quite impressed by his level. Can't wait to see him in GSL

Why didn't the Terran try and add late-game units to his composition? He just had Marine-Marauder-Medivac the whole game, the whole series, and lost in the end at least twice (due to Ultralisks once and Brood Lords once) and maybe another time with Vipers? Also, he failed to counter the Mutalisks properly, they wrecked way too much havoc on his bases and he didn't do enough to stop them. And those early-game Helions seemed like a waste of money to me, didn't do enough. Perhaps he should have switched to Banshees at some point?

The new Void Ray is pretty awesome. I melted an opposing legion of Stalkers and Immortals in seconds with the +Dmg on armor ability.

He should just make two tanks on early game and would have taken very little damage from bane bust.
Banshees on the lategame are little useful. More vikings better.
He tried to take down mutas with mines, but he never could do that 3-4 consecutive mine hits to take them all, and 1 hp/sec regeneration (HotS change) gave mutas a high durability.
