Well, he finally took it! I am quite happy for him, probably my favorite Brood War player, the Tyrant! Really hardworking person, hope he does even better next year.

The tournament was overshadowed by the hilariously bad production. The amount of issues, delays and problems this tournament had was unbelievable, and maybe is why this JD victory didn't feel very special...but I still think it was a good tourney, player skill wise.
And kudos to Scarlett finishing 2nd and 3-0d Life, she's clearly in the top 2 foreigners together with Naniwa, by a laaaarge margin with the rest.
Last but not least, Rain won the Hot6ix Cup! I watched all the games except the last and Rain showcased great macro play, never ending harass and not being terrible predictable (which used to be his most known weakness). Entertaining finals

Huk won it in the end, swept Masa 4-0, not much of a contest really...

Not really forgetting just not as entertaining and high skilled to watch as top Koreans. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not saying that they are bad or anything, just like Koreans more.
I laughed when I was reading teamliquid, and after Hitman took down Scarlet, Jaedong twitted "Who's Hitman?".

RMZ, I don't think only Koreans/non-Americans felt that way, even TB and Idra didn't really know anything about him except he was really cheesy, Idra kept going on about two-gates and four-gates and stuff.

Oh yeah, about the downsizing. Dota/lol carry much higher prices in lower level tournaments here, perhaps that's why.

I don't know about low level tournaments, only about high level. But it's clear....for instance, iirc in the OGN LoL Summers finals there were like 10k live attendance, SC2 struggles to get past 1500 on the finals of GSL....
Also, forgot to say, but I think this is the first time in 10 years or so that Proleague won't be broadcasted by OGN, another signal of the downsizing...
Woongjin Stars disbanded earlier this week, a 12 year old team....with Trap departure, Soul team is inches away from death too, I wonder when Dear will leave the team to it's inevitable oblivion...

The advertisements you see for tournaments here mots often have SC2 and lol/dota2 adjacent to each other and the sc2 always has lower prize money.

So, in 2013 INnoVation has won a Proleague, a GSTL and a ATC, being always the best player (most wins) of his team and the second, first and first globally on each tournament. Not bad
