I played DS3 for a little while. Not really a lot, but enough to make me understand that to play that game, I need to be fully in the mood. I was doing 'fairly well', played into some zones already, died a lot, the usual, then got a little lost with some maze-like places, killed a lot of difficult creatures, advanced more trying to find another save/chekpoint, then died for something I couldn't actually identify.

Oh, yes, another game on hold is my second playthrough Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Most maps are 99% at the moment. The only thing missing are the running challenges, which are kind of ... annoying, difficult and time-consuming. Because if you miss a single movement, you'll lose.

During first lockdown I got Anno 1800 and recommend to anyone, fantastic city build simulation, with fantastic DLC, and of course, fantastic mods from fantastic modders, as this, or that

Because a little advertising doesn't hurt.

Finished Hades, I mean, the main storyline quest with credits and all. But the game keeps on unlocking other things, continuing evolving relationships, getting other items, personalizing the house of Hades. 80 hours in game now.

Might jump back and finish Dead Space 2, mostly to unlock other stuff. Then probably get back to Dead Cells, which is getting another DLC next month, Battle Chasers: Nightwar and The Talos Principle.

Started playing Cyberpunk 2077...

The game looks hand-crafted and has great depth, ideas and character but unfortunately immersion is a bit spoiled by many glitches (even in the opening parts of the game which seems odd), but most importantly it is badly optimized for previous gen consoles (I didn't have a choice in this matter as PS5 is out of reach while I won't be building a gaming rig until at least next year). Especially the textures which are at times simply hideous. There are times I'm not enjoying what I'm seeing: I would understand draw distance etc, but not those texture popping's and blocky models.

Yeah, I kinda understand arguments that the game was build with next-gen in mind and graphics like that require serious hardware plus that there are limitations in how much you can get out of an older hardware but... it kinda seems phony when you look at games like RDR2 or even TLoU 2. And this game was seemingly built 8 years for PS4-ish generation so why the sudden shift in optimization related aspects of the game? It should work perfectly on prev-gen consoles and only get better from that point onward The "how will they do it" shouldn't be an issue for gamers but devs, as this game was heavily advertised for prev-gen consoles.

So a big "-" for CDProjekt Red, cus they kinda dissapointed in quite a few areas (game polish, not being honest with how the game will look on prev-gens etc). The malkotents unfortunately were right to some extent... alas the "we told you" doesn't quite cut it here, because people are paying a full price tag no matter which hardware they choose.

Yea, I'm going to be a lot harsher than that because I intended to buy this game after release and the day 1 patch after following it for years, but boy oh boy, am I removing it from my whishlist now. This was the most hyped game in recent history and under the capable dev team of CDPR it was bound to be a hit. The Keanu Reeves hype and promo videos and whatnot is what convinced people that this would be a smashing success, industry-defining for the next gen, and it's nowhere near that. It's the biggest disappointment to me in a long time. After their 8 years of development and all the media fuss, the final product is that?

No wonder they didn't let reviewers show gameplay footage at all, it was never the game they said it was. I've been reading reddit and news outlets and I have to say, they had the promotion and media coverage and hype train other games couldn't even dream of, and managed to **** up.

So glad I didn't pre-order off of all of that, I was pretty close though. I mean, I can't even blame the ones who did. CDPR, years of development, AAA budget, and the promotion... How could anything go wrong, right? But it did. Should've been obvious after the infinite delays that something was not quite right.

I'm in mind to wait at least a whole year before I decide what to do regarding this game. Instinctively, the we need to patch as soon as we release it policy was already expected, no matter which publisher and developer it was. Poking with new engines are always kind of messy too (thinking on Mass Effect Andromeda). But the main let down in my point of view are extreme system requirements. Even with some decent rigs, it might not come to be playable, and as we come with a lot of problems with economy due this goddamn pandemic, spending a lot of funds to upgrade or buy a new computer, or console for that matter, only to play this game (yeah, other games in future, but it's not a real necessity, is it?), and yet a game with so many issues ... really, doesn't seem compelling, practical or respectful.

Still, counting one year. If things are better until then, especially regarding system requirements, then I might give it a go. Otherwise, go to hell and I'll expect something else, as we always do.

Well, I think the game does deliver in terms of storytelling, and maybe even some novelties (for me the whole narrative with the use of HUD perspective from the implant level is a great narrative tool as there are things like blocking your vision, or you can train "virtually" etc). A lot of love went into world-building and authenticity.

But even though a game this much hyped is bound to be a good target for "toxic gamers" in this case it does seem something went wrong if half of the articles about the game you see is about optimization and players talking about how it doesn't works. Dare I say it's Fallout 76 all over again? (when it comes to grumble about the game presentation).

This game should've been like "it's a Masterpiece" the moment you launch it, like I had when I've seen RDR2. Ok so I do need to play Cyberpunk some more, and probably will be ultimately quite impressed by the game, but somehow the "magic" simply disappeared.

Like they say, there is a very good game underneath, but seeing such obvious issues after I launched a (patched) game, on the default hardware is simply disappointing...

Ok so a bit of rectification is in order for Cyberpunk 2077.

Turns out my main beef with the game, which was low texture resolution, was solved by manually imposing 1080p resolution in PS4 settings. Well, the game looks radically different now. Ofc I needed to still switch off some of those stupid special effects like cinematic grain or blur, but the game visuals now look how they were suppose to (even though base PS4 does not have the UHD upscaling). Yeah, the game still suffers from constant framerate drops and freezes here and there, but it's on acceptable level. However, the single fact that players need to adjust so many settings, and search the net for solutions still applies for a "-" from me - on console a game should work optimally from the get go, it is not PC where you need to dwell on layers of configuration options.

I'm happy cus I'm able to enjoy the game now, and I thought I will not be able to due to how it looked initially. Seems the latest patch, 1.04, also solved some issues. In my 5+ hours playthrough so far I didn't expierience any crashes. In the bug/glitch department only a few "bouncing" vechicles and characters popping out of cars happened.

Needles to say my perception on C77 changed radically. With the main issue gone I must say, even thought some of its features are quirky (like equipment managment, selling items etc - CDP does seem to always have a problem with UI lol they never learn) how the game is crafted is really something.

Nah. By February it ought to be pretty well cleaned up.

Really big world immersion games continue to regularly fix the occasional bug over a year after release but the nasty stuff gets fixed asap.

Hmm, I don't think some issues like idiotic AI or choppy framerate will be fixed that easily. Those are things that break the immersion and immersion is king in this game. Well CD Projekt will probably sort out some of the issues but the games release is a hot mess. Truth be told I didn't expect this level of unprofessionalism from their side, like hiding the information about last-gen performance and straight up lies about it (plus the fact that the game does really look like beta in some aspects). I was only afraid most voices will be like "the game isn't as groundbreaking as I excepted". But what we have right now is simply a snow up on their side, even if the reason is that they were hard-pressed by the investors. Even shill media like IGN posted a separate review for the console version where they bash the game (I don't think IGN ever does it except for some ports), plus the refund actions taken by companies like Sony etc (Warcraft III Reforged and Blizzard comes to mind). Listening to the execs explaining themselves to the investors is pretty funny (there's a recording online)...

It's simply sad how things turned out, this was supposed to be a big moment for them. Even if things will be ironed out after a while the bad taste will linger from this point onward.

If the framerate is as low as they say it is then that would indeed be a garbage playing experience.

I don't game on a PC anymore so I can't buy the PC version.

edit: 20 frames per second? Why did they even release the game? Stupid.

Alternating between Genshin Impact and Immortals Fenyx Rising right now. Genshin is the gacha that doesn't want to let go of you while IFR is your memorable casual experience. I have to say, for an Ubisoft title, the game is quite impressive. Dare I say the better pick from their recently released AAA titles? Found a few bugs not even worth mentioning, but apart from that? Really polished game, fluid and dynamic combat, funny narration (Zeus is such a prick, but in a hilarious way), quite a beautiful open world, puzzles and dungeons that can sometimes leave you scratching your head... All of that on release. I'm kinda amazed honestly. It's nowhere near the usual Ubisoft experience. Falling through the map, glitches, missing textures, people falling from the sky, character models contorting in impossible ways, objects with no collision, dead AI, lifeless world, etc.? Wait... Is Cyberpunk actually an Ubisoft game?
