The Manliness Thread
Inspired by the endurance thread I have decided to bring back the manliness to HC, a feature sorely missing. Or is it? Naturally some members here are more manly than others but the point of this thread is to admire said manliness and frown upon cowardly or extremely girly actions. You might ask how do you quantify such a complex value? Easy, by giving 5 points for acts that make the rest of the male population proud(the real men that is) and by penalizing with -5 points those that bring shame to them. You may also ask what acts are those? At which point I'd have to proceed and penalize you, a true man does not try to define manliness - he acts like it! And also knows how to take criticism like a man, therefore I will accept no disagreements.
Be patient, there is a lot of ground to cover and many posters to go through. I would appreciate you pointing out possible bonuses or penalties.

This is a prime example of homosocial behaviour when the mass regressed men enforce male to male bonding by praising traditionally manly values within the pack and emasculating those who fall out of it. However, now that we are in the internet, even social interaction with the opposite sex takes characteristics of homosociality.
If only such a thing could be accomplished in real life...
P.S. I was kind of hoping that this thread could be used for discussing men, the roles that they are expected to take and have been expected to take in the past and other such interesting topics like how men make themselves apparent in the cultures we live in.

You have misunderstood my intention, it is not a matter of homosocial behaviour but a tribute to values that matter and demand our immediate attention lest we regress to low levels of manliness. It is not my desire to emasculate anyone who falls short of the designated standards but rather record their regression so that they can reconsider their path, one that will lead to a manlier future.
Also there are various ways to increase your score and therefore alter the perceptions of those around you, macho alone will not get you very far - in fact too much of it will drive people away. Traditional gentlemanly values as well as inherent coolness are amongst the attributes also taken into account, after all a true man must be adaptable.
