Heroes 6: Official Creatures and Speculation / Wishes

K, I know I've been away for a long time, but now I'm back!

I made this thread to share anything about possible creatures; officail stuff, hints, speculation, or simply wishes.
Heres my idea (with a hint to back it up!).

A little while ago I was reading the Moon Weeks on Age of Heroes and I discovered something:

Quote:
A week when the weekly Wyrm production used to double, before they were totally exterminated.

Seeing how Heroes 6 happens in the past, that could mean that Wyrms are a possible creature!
It IS only speculation, but it would be quite cool if they made an appearance in the game. Not only that but it makes sense.

Well, what do you have to share?

Wyrm? Isn't wyrm just an umbrella wordd for dragon like creatues? We had 10 wyrms in H3.

The difference is that Wyrms lack wings and breath poisen instead of fire. So no.

I never thought wings or fire was requirement for dragons, just the most common. I find it boring if all dragons breath fire, and one or 2 I wouldn't mind if they lack wings.

I guess... But it does add a little variety. I don't want to see fairy dragons, flame dragons, green dragons, azure dragons, mechanical dragons, swamp dragons ect... in the same game. It could lower the overuse of the actual term dragon.

Okay, that'll be the end of the off topicing. The thread's for sharing creatures, afterall.

are you 100% sure, there? 'cause in such point, I have quite some difficulties since I'm not native. I'd see what you meant more as a "Lindworm" or "Wyvern" (yet the latter WITH wings) and a Wyrm as having a more snakelike form, but potentially wings.

I want to see three types of neutral creatures, town-tied neutrals (as in H4), standard neutrals (like most of the other neutrals we've had so far), and 'true' neutrals (will only fight or run, mostly animals).

My I add the "true"-and "town-tied" neutrals to feature wishes list?

And I say the opposite. I hate when there is only generic dragons familiar to the mainstream. I want dragons to be a specie not a unique animal. Multiple different dragons I want. Like in DnD, there you have at least 3 cathegories of dragons. The neutral dragons in H3 didn't serve much purpose I think. I liked the rust dragon aglot both for design and gameplay mechanics and a blue dragon was nice to have. But I feel like the main reason they added these dragons was to restore dragons as the most powerful creatures in the HOMM games, instead of those puny angels. Fairy dragon is unique with it's spellcasting but in general fairy dragons are ugly looking. I liked that H3 had 3 factions had their own type of dragons, I just wish the undead ones would have breath weapons.

Speaking of neutrals I think there should be equal number of factions for all alignments like there was in H3 with conflux. Too bad the expansions didn't add posibility of 9 players.

I don't think there is much purpose of creatures outside the factions. Unless they're unique in someway. Boar riders, mummies, rogues and peasants felt like they added just to make it have everything H2 had. It added nothing and the models and animations themselveds where of lesser quality than all other creatures in the game.

Oh btw, no snowing mechanic dragon ala H4. That's just retarded.

I wouldn't have minded the mechanical dragon if it had looked just a bit more like a dragon, instead of a giraffe.

As for the question of dragons, I don't mind having more than one of them; but I would rather each faction be unique, and if there are three factions with dragons as their top tier creature, that lessens their uniqueness.

I'm all for neutral dragons that can be recruited - in fact, I think there ought to be a dedicated building for recruiting dragons, rather than the "high-level fort" thing we had in H5 - but when it comes to the faction's creatures, players should know that their dragons are only theirs.

I hate all kind of mechanic stuff in fantasy genre fiction. The absence of technology and the relience on physical power and magic is a freakin big part of it. Mechanic dragon was perhaps the most stupid mechanic creature I had ever seen.

I think 2 normal dragon factions are enough, 1 undead faction. But if the undead faction would get some new tier7 that is good enough in design I wouldn't mind it replacing their old dracolich.

What do you mean replace the Dracolich? we never had one to begin with.
I will not object to an undead dragon if it actually is a Dracolich.
Dracolich meaning Undead Dragon Mage, flying, spellcasting, breathweapon armed, bad-ass emmisary of death? YES PLEASE!

Don't be silly.

Dracoliches would never let anyone command them, much less work together in a stack greater than one.

Now, if you could have just one dracolich, and then when you "bought new creatures", it actually worked as though you were simply improving your existing dracolich...That would be awesome.

I'm still waiting for Sandro to make a dramatic return.  But I know it's never going to happen...

Wasn't Sandro in H4 but he looked ugly as snow? (just like all H4 portraits)

You keep making references to snow.

...I miss the snow terrain type...

In order to get this thread back on topic, here's some brain food.

I took this picture and marked the appropriate areas.

The places I marked show possible new creatures or are relevant in some other manner.

Lets start here on the Necro side of the picture with these two images.

and

This creature is probably a Sphinx.
It looks like it might be a construct, it clearly is flying above and near necro creatures and has greenish accents and glow.
From this we can speculate that the Sphinx will be in the Necro line-up, probably as an Elite or Champion unit.

Next:

Clearly walking amongst the Necro lines, and ties in to the whole Necromancers/Spiders/Asha thing.
Again guessing it's an Elite/Champion, and probably a spellcaster.

Now we move over to the other side.
This struck me as odd, I have trouble describing it, it seems to be some kind of light spirit/elemental/archon.

It clearly is on the Haven side but it might just be a spell or story phenomenon.
But it might also very well be a new creature, looks much more like Champion material if you ask me.

Now this next bit is VERY feint but we already saw in the trailer, Angels look like they did in Heroes V, ruling out the creature above is an Angel.

This strikes me as an angel, though it is barely visible.
But seeing both this and the above creature in the same picture, yeah you get the idea.

Finally, this also struck me as odd:
Since when do normal horses glow?

Seems odd if you ask me, might be some kind of ghostly steed, I doubt even a pure white horse looks like that under those light conditions.

LET THE CREATURE SPECULATION BEGIN!

P.S. And yes Aosaw, you are right, Dracolich egos would prevent them from working together.

The Haven pictures are interesting. In the last one, note that there is another horse to the left of the first one.
