An non-classical idea for heroes towns

Personal I don't like heroes "classicism",some creatures must be kept and some must be left.In finally we will be bored by so many common and used creatures in the same towns,even if they change graphic.In classicism exist the next towns:human town,elves town,wizards town,orcs town,undeads town,underground town and in H5 dwarves town.In games with the same towns and minor changes in creatures start to be boring for the majority of players,except "classicists",which don't want to change anyhting in towns structures.

Impressed I am actually. Surely don't agree with all though. You really need some descriptions to define some really generic and vague names like rogue or renegade. Skirmisher tells me nothing. Not to mention the romanian stuff. Btw I think romanian stuff is way too unfamous to deserve being a faction. What the heck is a rock beast? You need to add descriptions of these names that says nothing.

I like the idea of forest faction having phoenix, like in H4. The thunder bird could be in forest faction instead of wizard.

I like the idea of giant spider. Nothing special but upscaled spiders are always cool. But please skip dinosaur riders. I just hate the concept.

I sure like the egypthian theme necropolis. I suspect you got it from Warhammer Fantasy but I wouldn't mind it in herus game.

I think the peak faction is good because it seems to be just a bunch of animals rather than a faction of intelligent creatures with it's armies waging war against other intelligent beings.

Hmmm, I dislike some things here, Liz. For example, bishop is an unsuitable upgrade for monk, both being on different paths of the clergy, or am I wrong?!? Musketeer only on level 3? And two gunpowder weapons in castle, one tier 7...and why ARCHangel and not just angel?
Sylvan is okay...but for academy: you dropped gargoyles, don't like that- Necropolis is okay for the egyptian theme. Inferno...succubus is far too low in their ranks! ... Cula I don't understand Asylum I donÄT know waht the units mean, names very general. Dungeon with lizards seems strange, but is creative. Now the ice faction...too many beasts by far for my taste.

@kien: thunderbird in forest makes no sense I think.

for the animal faction: exactly that is what I dislike...why should animals bunch together and such...

Yes, Monk would upgrade to Abbot. Priest would upgrade to Bishop.

Wow, a non-classic idea that's so, classic. Come on, if you're going to go for non-classic can you at least make it look like you tried (Haven already has Archer, Pikeman, Squire Monk and Cavalier, and Sprite, Hunter and Druid are nothing new for Sylvan).

Well it's a little better now, but really, if you want to change the faction, you have to change the theme, so say give Haven a Roman/Greek theme and Sylvan a Celtic one, etc.

For a first effort that is an awesome list of ideas for creatures & factions.  

Oddly the only thing that stood out to me that I'd change would be student should upgrade to scholar.  

If a homm game was made with these factions I think it'd be a lot of fun.  You had a lot of creative units, and some of my favorites are:
-Alpha Wolf (could be very tactical with the right special ability)
-Bloody Beast
-Energy Sphere (reminds me of the KB unit you could roll around the battlefield)
-Giant Spider (could web flying units, similar to Magic The Gathering)
-Bone Chariot (this fits in perfectly with Necropolis)
-Balaur (I had to look this up.  Very cool looking)
-Asylum, Savannah, and Peak factions are very creative and refreshing

Matt - I don't understand why you say you love to "theory-craft", yet completely bash most ideas I see on here.  Yes, there are some redundancies in Lizard's post, but there's a ton of theory-creativity.

Hey, it's the fact that he called these decidedly classic (in the case of Castle, Academy, Stronghold, Dungeon and Inferno) factions non-classic which got me, not the fact that he proposed them at all. There are some interesting choices there with Sylvan and Necropolis, and new faction can always be counted as interesting. There are some names there which seem to be either obscure (in the West at least, I presume they're commonly known in Romania and the surrounding countries), or mistranslated (is/are Anguis the same as Lizardman/Lizardmen), so perhaps a few words of description after each creature would be helpful, especially with Cula:
1. A bat, obviously.
2. I'm not sure, are these fairies?
3. Again, not sure, highwaymen?
4. Mothmen?
5. Werewolves obviously.
6. Vampires.
7. Hydra, Scylla?

I thought witches was a label refering to a woman who practise magic specificly in a world where it's not the norm, not a word for a specific DNA pattern.
