I've got my new character out now, he's good with a bow and blade, but he ain't the 'sneaky' type, an evasive inquisitor, who enjoys the taverns; the wenches, and the heretic mages that infest the land. (thalmor and necros mostly) My guy tends to not even get hit during combat (apart from god-damned arrows  , they're not so bad now, but when ebony arrows are ripping my hp down to 0 in one shot, it can be quite frustrating)

So... been a while since the launch... now that everybody has experienced the game a bit...
Stormcloak or Imperial?
I can't fricking decide, they're both snows in their own right.

Yeah I've been leaning towards that as well.
That and there are just too many shady things about Ulfric.
Like, if he was serious about dueling the High King he should've made it public and NOT used shouts. Instead it just became more of an assassination.
Also, if him and his crazy-ass followers hadn't gone all "**** YOU WE WANT TALOS" the Empire wouldn't have had to strike down on the worshipping so hard.

I joined the Empire because my character intends to snog with the Jarl of Solitude (I don't even know if that's a plausible option, but I'm going for it). It's kind of ironic though because I've been hanging out and selling stuff in Windhelm for the most part. That city has really grown on me. I love the Candlehearth Inn; it's so stylish looking, especially on the outside. Whenever it's snowing outside (which it often is in Windhelm) the windows light up to a warm orange glow. My char is sympathetic towards both sides, but is siding with the Empire out of necessity. Unity = priority. My hangout pad is in Windhelm though 
The general consensus is that the High Elf Thalmor are more obnoxious than the Empire or the Stormcloaks could ever be. Golden elves must die. I'm guessing the expansion is going to have a lot to do with the Thalmor and the aftermath of the Great War.

Imperial here as well. Though I concur with Adrius that neither has me cheering for them, the more I heard about Ulfric the less I liked him. He's power hungry, arrogant, his city is the only one I know of offhand with an actual slum (Gray Quarter), he killed the High King who, according to the guy's wife, actually looked up to him and probably would have listened to whatever reforms Ulfric wanted...yeah, I joined the Imperials mostly so I could oppose him. One of my favorite moments in the game so far has been telling him "Alduin's back" and seeing him practically wet his pants.
But yes, by all means, let us merrily band together and beat down the Dominion!  *spoiler* I was really disappointed with the truce talks; I wanted to dismiss Ambassador Torturer to keep the Dominion from shredding our chance at peace to bits, but noooo, the stupid minigame counts that as a strike against the Imperials instead of against the Dominion and I can't slip Tullius Ulfric's dossier and have him boot her out himself. So I either have to put up with keeping the Dominion in or let Ulfric run roughshod over the opening discussion. *sulks* *end spoiler*

I kind of feel bad for the Dark Brotherhood. I didn't realize they were so weak 200 years later. They got slaughtered.

Fricking Shock Dragon, refuses to land and fight like a Nord!
Finally got him killed by closing in on him with ethereal form and dual-wield slashing him a couple of times, and then going ethereal again and taking cover. Miss the timing even a little bit and I'm dead 
Think I've struck a good difficulty balance now... good thing Deadly Dragons lets you customize the health/damage/whatever so much. Duel Combat Realism helps too.
I can take about 5-6 average dragon bites if I block them, but I get instagibbed if I don't. Also, if my stamina runs out my block doesn't mean ****, and since blocking drains stamina with Duel... yeah it's a game of preserving your energy and choosing carefully when to close in.
Had a really awesome dragon fight too with one that swooped down on me in the woods and shouted Animal Allegiance... I was fricking drowning in spiders and bears and **** while I tried to flee to safety ^^ Hell even the bunnies were after me.
EDIT: Argh ****, Kvenel the Tongue is fricking impossible. Console kill command bye bye, you unbalanced ****.

Arrive in Hammerfell, kick the living **** out of the Imperials and Nords who thought they could live there, and then proceed to drive the Orcs out as well, earning everyone's respect as they beat the über-tough Orcs into submission with pure melee combat (no magic here, no sireee)
Skyrim bows to the Empire who's taking it up the ass from the Thalmor, but Hammerfell just says "**** you we're independent." And the Empire can do nothing about it cuz the Redguard warriors are just that badass.
Baddest mother****ers on the sea and on land.
...but they're black, so no one plays them.

Where does it talk about some of the lore going on outside of Skyrim? I didn't realize any of the other provinces were independent.

Black Marsh and Elsweyr also said "screw you" to the Empire. Black Marsh's Argonians also decided to go north and mess up the Dark Elves completely as repayment for years of slavery.

It's a fanfiction website. You should check out my Ulfric X Tullius romance story. Major plottwist: Ulfric is a werewolf, RAWR.

It's unofficial in the same way that every fan wiki out there is unofficial. It compiles not only gameplay related stuff but lore as well, both in-game lore and novels and stuff that the writers have mentioned in interviews and the like.
If you type something like "Elder Scrolls info" the first page that pops up will likely be the Elder Scrolls Wiki, but personally I find it inferior compared to UESP. UESP goes way more in-depth.
I've spent hours just reading about various gods and stuff on that site.

This is pretty accurate.
Elsweyr tried to leave the Empire and remain independent but didn't succeed, and ended up in Aldmeri hands instead.

Hammerfell is northwest of Cyrodiil and borders Skyrim? Why are they black? And where is the Orsimer kingdom?
